How God forgives when you can't get to Confession

Please don’t be afraid to go back to confession and church dear. I do the best I can because I’m disabled. I watch the mass on RU-vid at times. Right now the brakes on my vehicle are going out. Just waiting for some money to come through and I will be getting them fixed. I have found some channels that offer perpetual adoration too! Don’t give up dear!

Our Lady will help you most certainly. She is wonderfully kind and enormously powerful!

Heidi Do begin to seek guidance from a Priest. Just know that some often water down the truth so as to not scare people off from continuing to grow in faith and knowledge of God. Do get all in for God. Pray the rosary Daily. It is powerful. Go to confession at minimum weekly as you return to God. Then as you are grounded in the faith and begin to eliminate the inclinations of sin, I'd say biweekly Confession is sufficient. If you have unanswered questions from your priest, sad to say you might have to resort to watching RU-vid videos to learn about your faith. I believe we for many years have been poorly catechized, but this does not mean we cannot receive the catechism we need. Live in a state of Grace. That is key. We do that by making a valid confession. Meaning we confess ALL of our sins, with a firm purpose of amendment or never intend to commit them again. Then receive the Eucharist in a state of grace. Never receive in the state of known mortal Sin. God is kind and merciful. So be patient with yourself. But be truthful with yourself. As you grow in the faith, your awareness of past sins will become glaringly clear. Do not despair. The devil wants us to despair and believe we are lost or unforgivable. The devil is a liar so don't believe him. I began my search/return for God some 27 years ago after living as a person of the world. In short many sins that offended God. God has done all that He needs to do to provide for our Salvation. We simply need to embrace it and enter into it. Jesus Gave us the Catholic Church and the Sacraments. He did His part now we have to do ours. Our salvation rests on our being obedient to teachings He gives us in His church. The number one command of God is to Love Him with our whole heart soul mind and strength. Many weekly church goers don't do that. Many go to Sunday Mass and that is the full extent of their faith. There are 6 other days of the week in which we are to Love God completely. A verse in scripture says "Herein is how you know you love Me, (Me being God) you keep My commandments. Loving God in this case is as simple as being obedient to God's commands. Those commands are not simply the 10 commandments given to us by God to Moses. Though in those ten, we have a foundation to work with. Another thing we all should do is read the Sacred Scriptures. In them God speaks to our hearts one verse at a time. We may read a chapter thirty times then all of a sudden we hear a verse speak plainly to us. But if we are not reading it, or if we fail to go to Mass and we are not hearing it, we cheat ourselves of accessing the Mind of God "The Word of God is quick and powerful, cutting even to the dividing asunder of joints and morrow and is a discerner of the thoughts of the heart." (Paraphrased) Or "Faith comes by hearing and hearing from the by the Word of God".... God does not want you or anyone to be a mediocre Catholic. He wants all of us to be All in for Him. "The Lukewarm He will vomit out of His Mouth". Do find someone (Priest preferably but not necessarily) who can come alongside you in your return to the faith Journey. If you do it right it will be hard. Anything worthwhile is worth fighting and working for. Yes salvation is a free gift available to all, but in order for anyone to receive that gift, they have to unwrap it, take it out of the box and use it. The good thing about the Gift of our faith is that as long as we use it (and not misuse it) it does not wear out, it only gets better with time. As we grow in faith there will be others we will encounter who will soon begin a serious search to find God, at which time we can help them on their journey. Our salvation is simply our cooperating with what God has already won and already provided for us. Between The Mass, The Sacraments, and sacred Scriptures, we have all we need to be saved. All these God provides for us in His Church. God invites us to Holiness. For "Without Holiness no one can see God" . Too Jesus instructs us to "Strive to be perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect". When we read the word "Strive" it suggests that we need to struggle or work at being perfect. I've been striving for years and still struggling to be improve towards perfection, with a long way to go yet. It isn't easy. Just know that once it begins to bother you that you are sinning, you are on the right path. We should never be comfortable when we commit sin. It should bother us. But that bothering us helps us to begin to avoid it in the future. The choice is yours to do the will of God or not. Sirach 15 : 14 thru 17 "God in the beginning created human beingsand made them subject to their own free choice. If you choose, you can keep the commandments; loyalty is doing the will of God. Set before you are fire and water; to whatever you choose, stretch out your hand. Before everyone are life and death,whichever they choose will be given them. Do consider Listening to sermons by a priest named "Fr Mark Beard". He recently passed away in a car accident. But you can find his sermons on "St Helena Catholic Church website". He was truly a gifted priest. He gets very passionate about his Talks, and he don't pull no punches. But you can learn a lot by listening to his sermons. Don't be discouraged, stay the course. God will refine and purify you, (as He does all of us) but it's out of His great love for us that He does so. Do become a 7 day a week Catholic. I found a few articles from reputable Catholic sources that expound upon the claim. @@ironymatt I would tend to agree with Father Heilman as I follow him from time to time. He's a good priest. The only problem I have is that he states that the St. Gertrude prayer only take a 15 seconds. The actual prayer is an entire Rosary and you need to be in a state of Grace, etc. But even if he's correct, the prayer itself is beautiful and produces good fruit. When I recite it I don't even consider that it's enough to release souls from Purgatory, I offer my prayers to God for His intentions and His Mother's. Thank you for the information. 🌹

I DOUBT that's God's intention. Sounds more like yours. Have Masses said for him. Take CARE OF THE LIVING (children). Do you honestly think God will have you traveling to the dead, for HIS Grace to be upon your sons troubled life? What IF something happens to YOU? Surely, you can Help the Living. What THEN shall you do for the Dead? Take a chance of something happening to you, so there is no one loving around; to Teach them, care for them, etc? Either, bring your Son closer to you, or devote yourself to his family, which needs you more NOW then ever. God knows your 80 and in poor health. I doubt He wants you galavanting around the country just to make YOURSELF feel better. Think about it. Pray about it.

First Chance you get, go to confession and finish your act of faith Sacramentally. This go direct to God approach to confession is good but as the good father said per the Catechism must be a sincere act of contrition and the Follwed up by a sacramental confession. God accepts all our acts done in love towards Him. Yet as well He established through the gift of His Church all the things necessary for our salvation. Including the Bible which as Catholics we are often neglectful to read or study. I think it was St Jerome or St Augustine who said "Ignorance of the Bible is ignorance of Christ". Pray, Attend Mass, Receive the Eucharist, and Confess your sins, and read the Bible as often as possible. Do these things and God will do the rest.

So true...The #1 reason God asks us to love our enemies is because he doesn't want us to have anything else but LOVE inside of our hearts. If we didn't love our enemies it would mean we have given way to grudges which is synonymous to hate.
