It's funny the more I used to blame circumstances, the more circumstances would conspire against me. If you are pro active, you make the circumstances.
I was feeling down, so I thought I’d take a cold shower. I started it hot. Knew I had to go cold, but got too comfortable. I forced it as cold as it would go before losing water pressure. Five seconds in, I wanted to quit. It felt like ice. Then, I imagined Goggins passing me on a 1am run, yelling to me, “Stop being a little BITCH. Grind out the cold. Stay hard.” I never showered so hard in my life. I felt fantastic afterward, like I didn’t just conquer the shower. I conquered the cold. I conquered myself. So screw you, stupid cold water. You thought you could make me quit? I own you.
You keep me in the zone Dave. I was forced to level up or die. I took everybody out of my life and started all over again. I have been crushing it on my path and will never quit. I run at the problems and meet them head on. Thanks again Dave, for giving me my own damn life back to me. Peace.
I had a stroke some years back. I was half paralyzed in that my right side was paralyzed. I couldn't speak because half my face was paralyzed, & the stroke wiped that part of my mind that retained speach. I felt sorry for myself for about 6 months, & nothing happened. I still couldn't move. I remembered a saying, "God helps those who help themselves," & used that motivation to build & shape my discipline. Today, I am glorious. I was able to relearn English through music. I remembered the melodies & that helped me remember the words. I was able to say the words before i learned what i was actually saying. I have 10 pack abs today & all that goes with it. I owe much of that, of course to God, but I owe you to, friend. Every time I'd hear you say "stay hard" I'd think, I'm still too soft. I can do more, lets go! I learned a lot about discipline through the process, & I suppose by reaching my goals, but you put it into words. Thanks, man. It was as if a thousand different pieces all had to come together to go from a paralyzed mute to jacked with a full vocabulary, & a big part of that is you & your insane consistent discipline. I appreciate it, & I'm sure my Son does as well. He never saw me crippled & mumbling, but I guess that's the whole point. Thanks again. You are awesome & glorious.
The dude says “I will never be an Olympic athlete”, yet he runs ultra marathons and has survived SEAL training and continues to grind the way he does into his 40’s! I’m like, no sir, you have far surpassed an ‘Olympic athlete’. You’re on a whole other level.
I thought the same. You still grind long after other "retire" from their sport and often let themselves go. Then again who knows how hard they worked, etc. But you gotta admire someone who can get after it, and lookin the "accountability mirror". The world needs more of THAT for sure!
The end of this literally gave me chills, especially to see all the sweat, aka all of his hard work, in literal form. To know he's biking and likely ran at least 12 miles AND lifted weights while working on everything else he has going on is so damn inspiring. I love this man and his books & interviews have helped me so much! ❤
David Goggins is such an inspiration! I appreciate his words of wisdom so much. He just tells it like it is, and keeps it simple. Nothing more, nothing less. No extra baggage being brought upon us, like superficial desires, politics, or being unnecessarily judgmental of others - like most people are on social media nowadays. The dude really stays humble and lets his actions do most of the talking, while still being firm in his convictions and being reasonably assertive in “keeping it real”. He gives me a kinda vibe of “shut up and get to work”, but in a good way and not as condescending as other hardass people. Thanks for being you, David! A true voice of reason in these crazy times we live in. Respect 👊

After suffering 3 strokes and 5 heart attacks in South Florida-2017-2018, I exercise everyday and "still I grind" to overcome these health ailments and perservere!! Along with my fiancee2wife Charlie (asI call her) here with me now in the beautiful Philippines 🇵🇭!! We wrote and published our 1st book about my oredeal!! Being a former US military man in 2 branches of service, served proudly and honorably- 1st Navy Beachmaster Unit Two-BMU-2 and Army Infantry OCS and beyond, I learned a thing or two about driving on and never ever giving up!! I often watch David's ( my late little brother namesake) as my motivation to cut through the intense pain!! Listening to Goggins this morning around 2 a.m. got me so motivated, I put on my running shoes, went to the front door saying "I'm gonna do this shit," walked to the refrigerator, got an ice cream Snickers, ate it and went back to bed😂. #StayHard

yeah - so somehow you have to take the S, and refocus it to something you do want. In the book he talks about making it your fuel (rather than getting stuck). That resonated for me as a new viewpoint.....
He admits, he fails at most things he does, but we all know him for his Impracticable Records, Unbreakable commitment and Bulletproof mindset. Well that's the beauty in there, hope you get that.
Going through a tough breakup after devoting my life to someone for 4 years, neglected myself for her because I thought she was the one, shit sucks but Goggins helped me turn that negative energy into positive shit, and I’ve been grinding, and bettering myself, stay hard
