You’re lucky you were able to figure this out fairly quickly. I thought it was Celiac or nothing. So when I was told 9 years ago I was not Celiac I just kept getting different tests over the years, seriously fearing I had cancer at some points. Finally I started reading into gluten intolerance and reluctantly gave up gluten 8 months ago and it’s a world of difference! BUT, so expensive!!! That is my biggest gripe. If I didn’t feel so much better, I would go back bc it costs so much more and it is hard to eat with other people. Especially holidays.
@TrulyJamie
@TrulyJamie 2 года назад
I went through the exact thing! I 100% believed I had some type of undiagnosed cancer. It's an absolutely terrifying and isolating feeling. THAT'S AMAZING! Good for you!! It definitely is more expensive when it comes to GF bread, flour, pasta, etc. Eating out with people has gotten way easier over the years. So many restaurants have GF options. Even if they don't have a bread substitute or pizza crust, etc. It gets MUCH easier making modifications. You'll know what to look for on menus and at the store. My first year was extremely difficult, I felt like I couldn't eat anything. But I promise you, you will get the hang of it!

I’m 5 days into trying to be gluten free, since my doctor told me to try that and see if it helps. It’s been a really horrible few months trying to figure out what it was or could be. I’ve felt really depressed and anxious about it not getting better recently and not being able to explain to my loved one how I felt. Your video has given 1. Light at the end of the tunnel that it gets better and 2. A way to explain to my family and friends how I’m feeling. Thank you so much for sharing your experience, and giving people a place to know other people have gone through it, and it just takes time. ❤️

I'm 38 and was finally diagnosed with Celiac disease last August. I can't have gluten, milk, soy, etc. I have other food allergies as well. I'm so thankful that I was able to finally get some answers. I have osteoarthritis and major joint issues as a result. My teeth have also been affected by this awful disease. It is very stressful trying to make sure you aren't ingesting gluten. I'm so glad that the headaches are better, the diarrhea isn't as often and the horrible stomach pains have also gotten better. I searched for this video because earlier today I came to this realization. I had felt so ill for a couple of years. I used to be so much kore energetic and feel like I could do things like work out and do cleaning on the same week, let alone same day. I could make art AND have some social time. But, I went through some tough traumatic times after highschool, maintained through college but increased drastic escalation of ptsd symptoms, anxiety, and was diagnosed finally with clinical depression, and fairly late ADHD diagnosis- so Ive been convinced that this was nothing more then a mind over matter thing. idk how many times I said to myself 'why is my entire body feeling this way but its also in my head' not being able to explain to people what im experiencing but "I just CANT" heaviness, tingly, unable to keep a rrain of thought, and just terrible pain in all my limbs and into my hips and shoulders. but like tolerable enough, I get through days, forget about it sometimes... ive been feeling better receny mentally with the right antidepressant, regular ADD treatment,and a great therapist... but my pain has just made it increasingly more difficult for me to move around and as its always been - so so fatigued and exhausted. I started feeling periodically faint and heavy brain fog, new skin hair nail problems made me get to my limit like THIS ISNT NORMAL. I thought maybe its Lyme. you could see similarities here. I got bloodwork done for several diseased RA, Lyme and other tickborne illness, thyroid. The results came a happy phonecall saying "Good news, its all negative!" It did not feel like good news at the time. I wanted answers- Ive been searching to feel like myself for YEARS. I want to work out, have sex, decorate my house, go to yoga, and not be an irriable sadsack. I think this is it. Or if its not all of it, it is exasturbating other small issues. I know that elimination gluten has helped so many people with painful conditions and mental illness, so, I just cut it out for the last week and did have some success. I felt pretty okay, which is huge, such relief. Until today at my pizzabar shift, I was really hungry. I ate a slice. I feel so shit right now. But a simple precautionary dietary shift proved to be a successful experiment. I didn't know how rough my baseline has been, everyones' lives have been tough the last 3 years. I think this is it.
@TrulyJamie
@TrulyJamie Год назад
While you wouldn't want to get bad news, no news is almost worse! It's like, okay cool all the tests are negative- so what's wrong with me?! I'm so sorry you have gone through such a difficult time. I truly believe what we put into our bodies effects not just our physical health but so much of our mental health. I have often heard people say our "second brain" is located in our gut, which is pretty interesting when you think about it. My diet has completely changed my life so I hope the same can happen for you and you find some relief very soon. xx

I have been fighting with the same symptoms for the last 5 years and now realise that I am gluten intolerant. The icky feeling and the constant pain and nausea is just so debilitating. I can totally relate to this! I lost my mom to breast cancer and 2 of her sisters have had breast cancer too. It has given me severe health anxiety and I feel like every ailment is undiagnosed cancer. But my doctors won’t take me seriously and check me for anything other than just breast cancer. I just went sugar, dairy, and gluten free starting last Wednesday so I’m really hoping to see some results.

I completely understand. It’s so hard.. You convince yourself that you’re next. Such a difficult way to live your life. I would leave doctors appts thing they FOR SURE missed something and have definitely believed I had multiple types of undiagnosed cancer. I hope you can find some relief soon and work your way out of that head space 🙏🏼 one thing that worked for me was to stop googling symptoms. It had sent me down a spiral every single time that led to nothing but fear and anxiety. It really helps to stay away from that.

So glad I found your channel and this video. Just last week i discovered that I am off the chart gluten intolerant. After years and years of stomach issues and other problems finally a possible answer. You are right, there are so many options now, unfortunately I also tested intolerant to 20 other items--including eggs, beef, pork, tomatoes...and the list continues. So many GF breaded items contain eggs. I will figure it all out but boy didn't plan on this. The dr. feels these items could be contributing to my leaky gut. We will do 6 weeks eliminating all the items (still fighting the coffee LOL) and see where I am at. She told me I will need to be GF for the remainder of my life--unless I enjoy feeling like sh*t, Looking forward to going back and watching all your GF videos (and others). Thanks for encouraging me on this journey.

I’m going through this now! I’ve had issues with diarrhea for 4 years. Ugh. It’s to the point where almost everything I eat makes me sick within an hour. I’ve had 3 separate celiac blood panels run (all negative), food allergy tests run (also negative), a colonoscopy and endoscopy and all they could tell me was it must be IBS. I also have 3 other autoimmune conditions, and it’s a common condition with one of them. So I got sick of being sick with no help from doctors, so I sent in a food sensitivities test posted online and it came back to avoid gluten, dairy, apples, corn, mushrooms, several kinds of fish, nuts, oils, seeds, etc. I found this out May 7, 2022 and have been trying extremely hard to stick to it tor the last 9 weeks. I can already tell when I avoid those items, I do not get sick. When I either know I ate something, or possibly did, I do get sick. It’s a definite learning curve especially with all the things I need to avoid, but it will be worth it in the long run to feel much better!
@TrulyJamie
@TrulyJamie 2 года назад
So similar to my story!! I swear my actual doctors barely helped me. If you aren't celiac they don't even acknowledge that you could possibly still have an intolerance. I had to take matters into my own hands just like you did. I hope you begin to find even more relief! ❤️

I actually was diagnosed with celiac when I was 7 or 8 I believed changed my diet for awhile and went back to eating gluten foods and everything. Of course there were times where I'd feel bad but just kept eating it. I got through middle and high school just fine. Once I reached college it just took a huge toll on me. Idk why or how but I just started eating less and less slowly and started seeing my weight slowly declining. I became underweight and I just learned to accept it but now I'm tired of just accepting it. So I went to the doctor almost a week ago and told them about it and had mentioned I was diagnosed with celiac disease as a kid. They did some bloodwork on me because the doctor mentioned it could be a problem with my thyroid for my weight loss and low energy and weak appetite as well. I'm thinking of going on a gluten free diet to see if it'll help my situation
@TrulyJamie

@mommy_and_lulu9271

@@jthomas8346 there is. Celias disease, wheat allergy and gluten intolerance all three are horrible, celiac disease is when gluten ruins the intestines and can cause cancer. Wheat allergy is a food allergy and be deadly, gluten intolerance is painful but doesn't cause a severe reaction like celiac or allergy

great! is it fine to have sourdough bread once a week on weekend as delicacy
@TrulyJamie
@TrulyJamie 5 месяцев назад
That is totally dependent on how your body handles it and how severe/moderate your gluten sensitivity is. I have heard that sourdough is the best bread to have. I personally never eat any gluten, not even on occasion because it will bother me for a very long time and just isn't worth it.

I’m wheat sensitive by my allergy test. So should I eliminate the wheat gluten all together.
@TrulyJamie
@TrulyJamie 2 года назад
You gotta do what you think is best but I would suggest it! I think if it’s just a mild sensitivity right now the chances of it getting worse in the future is a possibility. Also wheat gluten is the most common gluten. Wheat flour is in most products that are in many gluten containing products. Barely & rye are less common ingredients

Recently, I just found out that I had a sensitivity to gluten with blood tests that my doctor performed for me. I knew something was wrong and I told her that I would have diarrhea and bad nausea after eating certain things. At first, I thought it was eggs because I didn't feel bad after eating a McChicken from McDonald's. But after eating that McChicken, I would have constipation for a few days to a week then suddenly I would have diarrhea. I requested a food allergy test from my doctor and she's so good with me, she got that test scheduled for me with my regular thyroid panel blood test. We went over the results and so I cut out gluten and bread altogether and have been feeling much better. There have been a couple times where I had diarrhea and that's when I ingested some flour and the second time I felt so much nausea I thought I was going to throw up and some slight diarrhea..I thought I didn't really eat anything with gluten but I think Jimmy Dean's breakfast sausage has some sort of cross contamination, but idk exactly. Anyway, next thing my doctor will do is give me a celiac test. Also, I'm happy to have found you and listened to your story. I agree that people look down on others for going gluten free. My grandma does especially. And honestly I'm scared to even let her know about it..

I'm so sorry to hear you have had such a rough go. It can be so isolating... I hope you are able to find relief soon My advice would be so word it more about having a "wheat allergy" or a "gluten intolerance" I think it helps people understand more that it's a medical choice and not just a personal one. Hope that helps, I wish you well

@TrulyJamie

When you’re gluten intolerant you can’t have any but of gluten. You’re not even supposed to eat foods made it factories with non gluten free foods because of cross contamination. If you’re someone who just tries to avoid it here & there but you still eat it occasionally, sourdough is great. But not if you’re allergic

Yes, that's something I forgot to answer. I lost almost 20 lbs. It was drastic at first but my body started to get used to the diet and my weight remained the same. I also think I lost a lot of weight because I was mainly eating really clean- I didn't have a ton of GF bread and stuff like that. Was mainly eating protiens and veggies.
