This is irrelevant, but I was in a psychosis for some 6-9 months. I couldn't comprehend not existing, obviously, so I started looking for answers. I came up with one neat one that could actually be real. What if when you die, your mind just enters an eternal dream? Which would probably reflect your psyche, which could eventually result in some form of heaven or hell. I never really dreamed most my life but when I was in psychosis I had the most vivid dreams. I eventually learned thst they're reflections of my mind. If I started being fearful, they become more twisted. If they were twisted and I wasn't afraid, they'd become less twisted.

Its not the gluten. For the 1st year of my toddler's life, he had severe eczema. I could figure out why. It went away when I stopped buying bread and crackers. I bake sourdough and his eczema has not returned. The flour I am using is for bread, therefore it has a higher gluten content. I also only buy pasta made in Italy. I believe it's a preservative or the pesticides used.

A lot of high end wheat is imported by italy from the usa, hard to stalk them down but I think it's from Arizona in particular?
@HAIRHOLIC_1
@HAIRHOLIC_1 5 месяцев назад
The contrast between American and Italian wheat lies in their protein content, with protein being synonymous with gluten in wheat. American wheat boasts higher protein levels (gluten) but is also genetically modified (GMO) and laden with harmful pesticides, rendering it more challenging to digest for many individuals and potentially leading to the development of gluten intolerances. Contrary Italian wheat contains less protein and is subject to European regulations prohibiting genetic modification and the use of harmful pesticides. This explains why Italians and Europeans in general can consume substantial quantities of wheat without experiencing any adverse effects.

Not so sure this applies to gluten intolerance. I have a severe joint condition that is managed almost solely by not eating gluten. I never believed gluten could trigger something like that, but when I went off it my joints healed dramatically and I now no longer need a walking stick. From intense pain to almost normal function within a few months was pretty incredible. Placebo seems to have some pretty strong limitations.

Human biology didn’t change, we were nust unaccepting of it’s true nature. There's a third option, that I've seen in many people around me and has changed my mind on this: they had just accepted that they felt shitty all the time, but then tried cutting gluten out of their diet, and realized they were on the gluten intolerance spectrum. The real question isn't "are people stupid and impressionable" it's "why is this so prevalent in our society? Has this underlying, undiagnosed disease gotten worse over time? If so, why are more people suffering than before?"

Wheat is being so widely monocultured now (only one variety is predominantly grown, it produces heavily and is a reliable producer). This particular variety has many times as much gluten as the wheat our ancestors ate. We're more sensitive to it because it's not the same wheat. Further, people eating nonorganic bread are getting more glyphosate, which we now know eats holes in human intestines, not just insect intestines (we do have a Shikamate pathway, it turns out). Having leaky gut increases food sensitivities and number of food sensitivities. Those two factors are enough to explain it. The problem began before all the reporting, and either of these issues could explain why.

gluten intolerance can also be brought upon you by experimenting with cutting foods out of your diet sadly. Friend always ate normal growing up. We both went gluten free and dairy free to try to isolate some health issues. I went back to them fine, she has always had a minor lactose intolerance. But she can't even eat something a piece of bread touches without getting sick. Is a shame and I always feel like shit for encouraging her to try to diet too.

Gluten Free Foods tend to be worse in general than their gluten counterpart. They are filled with many other things- often worse things. Not all ingredients must be listed, if they are part of other ingredients, not considered food or something like that. There is ambiguity in labelling, so you can never know. I learned this in The Plant Paradox book.

The reason grains weren't a problem 50 or 100 years ago but are a problem today is because they've been breeding them to be more and more pest resistant these last few decades. If the grain is too difficult to digest and too poisonous for pests....then it also becomes too poisonous and indigestible for humans. Now you know.

LOL, gluten intolerance depends a lot more on just belief. After having several rounds of antibiotics, then several times of food poisonings over the years and was hospitalized for a massive gut infection, the doctor thought it was associated with gluten. I think for many people there are tons of foods that are okay until they aren't. We associate feeling crappy, fatigued, weaker, with age. You shouldn't be feeling like that in your forties. We have been told with hundreds of disorders and diseases, it's in our heads. Now coming into the microbiome and gut science we are learning, the gut influences everything in our body. More education is key, just look into plant poisons and how they cause massive issues over time in people. The it's just a belief is like saying, "sugar is sugar no matter where it comes from."

You are a good son but I suspect leaky gut. Personally I would not damage it more by taking antibiotics, NSAIDS, alcohol, soy, whole wheat, dairy and I WOULD eat KIMCHI daily. Also look into Oxalates in plants. Big problems with Almonds, Spinach and Soy. The membrane that protects us from various "symptoms" in the intestine is called the intestinal epithelium. It is only one cell thick. When that gets beat up (e.g., years of abuse), problems can present themselves in numerous ways. Honestly, most docs just GUESS. If you still have issues and come back- they guess again, and again in order to narrow it down. I healed myself from two major health issues using nutrition. Most docs were clueless. Sure, meat and cake may bother her today, however the good news is that if she heals that layer, she might be OK again. Also, very important for both of you, check blood sugar regularly. Test kits are like $30. I do it. Fasting AM should be around 90. 1.5hrs. after eating should be under 180mg/dl. The return to a low number quickly (insulin flexibility) is very important- often more than just the numbers. Blood sugar control or lack thereof is very often a fundamental issue that gives rise to other metabolic issues. Also, have her check her C-reactive Protein levels which check for underlying or obvious inflammation inside the body. Feed the GUT and protect the LIVER. She must fine tune her nutrition. Just as important is what she does not consume. IF is also very helpful to many people. Cheers! FYI- none of this is advice. I am not a doctor or nutritionist but I know some stuff!

I was vegan for a while and wanted to build muscle. Difficult to do since your sources of protein are limited. Correction, you have plenty of sources of protein but they are typically accompanied by loads of carbs, so you can't really find low carb high protein sources. I heard about seitan, which is essentially pure gluten (wheat protein). I figure I don't have any gluten sensitivities, I'll use that as my protein. A week later, I'm noticing just about all of my poops are yellow and floating which didn't happen before. I read online that it means that they are high in fat, which means your intestine isn't absorbing the fats (or nutrients) efficiently which is usually due to inflammation typically caused by food sensitivities. So I stopped eating seitan. Feces went back to normal. So no, it's not just in my head, I didn't even REMOTELY think I would be sensitive to gluten, I found out by eating lots of gluten and watching the damage it did. I'm fine if I eat a normal amount of it, but ingesting large quantities clearly has adverse effects on me.

I think it's more of modern people having more knowledge available and tests to check for gluten intolerance. Who the hell knew about gluten back then? People were just eating to survive and they didnt have many food options. So if you're a gluten eater your entire life then all the inflammation is just your default state. My father didn't know what he was allergic to. When I was about 35 I got to know about and did the IGG test which isnt the most accurate test but my result showed high reactions on gluten foods. So I experimented with my self and noticed my symptoms after eating gluten foods then found out that I was indeed gluten sensitive. I cut most gluten and now I feel better than ever.
