I've owned 3 of th bantamp's and eventually settled on the Bluejay. What you never hear in these reviews is that you honestly need some type of boost in your signal to get it loud. I've commented before that my 5 watt blackheart is much loader than these 20 watt amps. But with an eq pedal or compressor to give it a bit of gain you can get it to fill a room. However they do perform as advertised in regards to the amp they are modeled after.. I currently have an rp360 in front of the bluejay and It is a very good and compact setup to take with you compared to loading a car full of equipment
They don't do justice to the Joyos. They both use way to much high end in their tone. Set the damn thing flat! They really have a nice warm sound when eqed better.

I recently bought an Bamtamp Atomic. These amps are awesome.
@@felipaofeloz I've been doing a lot of research on these little amps and I was about to pull the trigger on the Jackman model, which is modeled after marshal style tube heads. The Atomic model I went with is modeled after Vox style tube heads. It was a really tough call and a hard decision to make between the two. From all the reviews and demos on any of the Joyo BantamP tube/hybrid amps I've watched, they all take pedals very well, they all sound like their own thing while still modeling the amp sound they are going for. I guess I wouldnt say one is better than the other. Because each of the models have a tad bit different sound to them. But they all seem to do is incredibly well for the price. And other than the sound being a tad different between the models, they all share the same extra features, like a line to directly record into a computer, bluetooth that functions alright (some people say the mix is a little quiet when running a backing track using the bluetooth feature for example), they all have an effects loop for pedal boards and what not, and they all seem to be built like little tanks.
Great series of videos comparing the bantamp with the original ones and the Klone. But I think a lot of people want to hear the VIVO, Atomic, Meteor, Firebrand and Xombie too. Come on guy do it!
Robert, been subbed to your channel for a while. I went to school with you, a year behind you. I remember you posting videos early on (myspace days) and thinking "That's definitely the best guitarist I know." Good to see all the success you've been having with the channel man. I have a question for you though, hence me finally commenting. I want to get a setup for my dad to just mess around with and learn a bunch of his favorite riffs too. Something pretty versatile to get a some blues/clean/80's hair type stuff. Maybe a range of clean to bluesy to Van Halen/Ratt/occasional Metallica riffs. I'm debating between the Jackman and the Vivo or one of the others with a drive pedal in the effects loop. Got any thoughts on that?
Def Leppard, yes! Lovely clean sound with that riff and prffered the Joyo to the HRDx, but I guess thats really because I think Id prefer a Twin to a HDRx with humbuckers.
I used my Atomic in a live band setting at a place called The Blind Tiger this past weekend. I disconnected the speaker from my big amp and pushed it with the Atomic. You can see and hear it over on the videos page on my youtube channel.
You rocked it man! I'm also thinking of getting one of these and a 2X12 cab. I always wanted to see if it was possible to gig with these and now I know. Thank you!
I'm dying to know if these little amps are gigable with a 2x12 cab on small/medium venues! Anyone have any experience with that? Nobody talks or show much about this!
Definitionally gigable, my wife has played the main stage at a blues festival, about 10,000 people with one of these through a Jensen 1 x 12 C12N cabinet. The secret with these amps is to dime all 3 controls
I like more the Klonz than the Hot Rod... but I thinks that is due to the fact I like much more the Twin than the Hot Rod... so would be curious to see the comparison witht he "real thing"...
Kristof Baroczi works for Thomann and comes from Hungary. I guess he does his best to speak english correctly (in order to be inderstood) but i'm sure he doesn't try to imitate accents from usa people!!!
Joyo have made one mistake with there new klonz amp. The price. There successful on the back of there cheap price. This thing is not in the correct price range to be a true contender in the modelling amp market and with a joyo brand attached its got to be in the sub 1000.00 mark. Good effort Joyo but stay cheap and you will own that market forever.
Price depends on where you are in Australia it is $1700 AUD; where a VOX AC15 head is 1000 (made in china), an Orange Rockerverb is $2600, Fender Deluxe Reverb Head is 1900, and Mesa start at 2000. That said if it was around 1200AUD definately would be more keen as I can get a handwired amp from the US for less.
Yeah I think that was a store area as I did find another store with the head for 1000 so ive fixed my comment still 1700 sits in the middle of most valve heads. It hasnt even been released in shops yet so it could end up cheaper and it has so many expensive attributes.
Looks like they are doing both things, and that means they'll cover different kind of customers. They have the cheap ones, so that market is covered. Small studios that can't afford 20 different heads, or session players that would be laughed at with a mini amp, would pick the big Joyo. Its real competitor is the Kemper, which costs more and doesn't apply to purists of valves and "real things".
If your looking for an amp modeller i guess this one is the way to go but i still truly believe they could have shaved a little bit more off the price considering its chinese made. Only time will tell if there built for longevity.
@@matthewkennedy7283 Speaker wattage matters if you want to connect 100W head into 1x12 20W speaker. But other way around it is absolutely save! 150W on a cabinet defines MAX power it can handle, but there are no restrictions in using any smaller wattage. You can use 1W amp with it, no problem.
