It's because a lot of people in the draft community (not necessarily the major outlets) thought taking him over Scoot was a massive mistake by Charlotte and were very low on him. Some people straight up had him ranked 6th or worse on their draft boards. Scoot can still be good ofc, but I think we can say Charlotte got the pick right.
Who do you project to be the best in 3 to 5 years out of Miller, Scoot and Amen? I asume you have Amen 1 after your video, but still want to ask. I think Miller can be consistent All-star player with occasional All-nba team (top 30 range or so). With LaMelo who I think can be top 10 guy Hornets have very nice duo.
Brandon will be a multi-time All-Star, not a doubt in my mind. You mention him being a number 2 option on a title team, and I agree, but I don't think anyone else besides Wemby has a higher *attainable* ceiling. I'm also very high the Thompson twins, but I just don't think their ceilings are going to be reached unless they dramatically tighten up their handles, not to mention their shooting.
Yea I disagree with Bens take that Amen can be better than Miller..... smaller Ben Simmons is still a phenomenal player but that's also a #2 on a championship team. Still a great video though
@@benpfeifer8192 ehhh I mean Amen is more well-round in terms of passing and defending, sure, but he's nowhere near the scoring threat that Brandon is. Unless he tightens up his handle like I said, I struggle to see how he'll be that great of a scorer to where he's anything more than a third option. He absolutely can be the second best player on a title team, but again, I feel the same can be said for Brandon.
@@raywright8479 amen is already way more efficient than miller and only scored on a bit less volume, he’s more versatile and has far more avenues to improve, long term it’s not gonna be close but we will see in a few yeara
@@benpfeifer8192 I mean he was more efficient bc his shot diet is closer to the basket and Brandon had a high 3PA rate. Like I get he's more versatile but I just flat out disagree with the assumption that Amen will be so much better than Brandon. Amen just won't be that level of scorer IMO, and that's okay. Both of them have a lot they can improve upon, it's not like Brandon is significantly older than the twins. But like you said, time will tell.
He's a mini Durant, a 6'8" shooting guard. Right now the Hornets are small across the board and mediocre defensively, but if they can get an imposing front court, Miller at the two a couple years down the road is a very good defender for the position. Really looking forward to some guard-guard screens this year with him and Lonzo. They're such good p&r passers; they could do some dastardly stuff in the two man game.
I see your point about floors in ceilings in terms of physical ability, but I personally think he'll last longer in the league than Scoot or Amen because his best attributes won't rely on whether or not hos body breaks down. That shot is already there.
I think the paul george comparison is so overused. People do not realize how insanely special paul george is as a mover. his fluidity is second to none for a 6'8-6'9 wing.
seen some of your comments on how your very low on how good miller can get. just want to know why that is? hes shown that he can shot create already at an elite level, play defense, draw fouls. haven't seen amen to that kinda thing yet and miller wasn't even meant to be the 2nd scoring option this year
@@beckembrown7002 think tatum was stronger/more physical at the same age and i don't think miller is as broad as tatum was before he filled out, he's also just not that level of rim defender to fuel that kinda transition, think miller is def best on the perimeter
You should learn some editing and production tricks from the top RU-vidrs and then I believe the content will grow itself with what you already got. That’s an easy 10k subscribers by the end of the year 🎉
Ben do you see any realistic comparison between Ace Bailey and Miller. When watching Miller in HS I always wondered how translatable his skillset would be as his handle/burst looked mediocre at best. With Ace I feel like it is the same thing as he is an ultra athletic long shot maker but his handle/burst is even more poor imo.
there are some similarities i think but ace even worse handle/burst/feel stuff yeah, also don't think miller was/is that athletic and i feel that same way about ace
