I am quite impressed of the footage you shot with the phone. Maybe a setup with the phone for closeups and an aditional actioncam for the wideangle shots ?! Which light setup did you use ?
Hi, Matthias. Good job. A contribution that you will know. With the Blackmagic app you can record in log by putting a lut and see it directly on your iPhone 15 proo pro Max screen and help you with the problem you explain. Keep in mind that you will see it applied the lut. But when you export it, the lut will not be applied. You will have to apply it again in post-processing!
If I may ask another question, how much iPhone storage do you use up per dive, in your opinion? Thinking to upgrade to the 15 Pro Max, and wondering how much storage I need to cover half a day or a full day of diving...
I have a 15 Pro Max with 1TB of storage and to be honest it's too much. I can't tell you how much I use per dive, that's very much depending on what the dive offers in terms of filmable encounters. As a guideline if you're recording in ProRes 4K30p you'll need approx. 6GB/minute. So if you end up with 20 minutes of footage per dive, that's 120 GB you'll need for each dive.
Hey Juhani, you're absolutely right. The Black Magic Camera app allows you to do that. I'll test it out on my upcoming trip to the Maldives later this month.
@@MatthiasLebo That app was the main reason why I decided to go Divevolk housing 😉 Today the also made update to app, so make sure you are using the latest version 😃
Absolutely beautiful shots. I was so excited to get the 15 pro max but so gutted when I tried to use the dome because it won’t fit the pro max. The ultrawide lens got moved to the top and the rubber ring is appearing in the videos and photos. Do you know if the Divevolk team has any fix or suggestions?
Thank you so much buddy. What rubber ring are you referring to? The one of the Wide Angle Conversion Lens? You just need to make sure that it's properly centered over the wide lens. If the lens holder doesn't reach far enough, you can always extend its length by unscrewing the two little screws on it and readjusting it as needed. Hope this helps. My wide angle conversion lens worked just fine with the 15 Pro Max and I didn't have anything blocking the frame.
@@MatthiasLebo Hi thank for for the reply. It was the big dome lens for shooting half/half above and underwater shot. Did you get a chance to try it with the new phone? I had problem lining up the rubber seal ring of the dome to the top position ultrawide camera on the 15 pro max. The seal ring still appearing like vignette in the frame even when installed at the very top. If I move it higher, the rubber seal would start clipping the housing frame and water starts leaking in.
Is it just me or is there worlds between the reviewed 13 pro max footages vs. the 15 pro? Asking because I am in between purchasing the hero 12 vs. the housing (seatuch) for my 13 pro max
Well, you know there are actually quite some camera advancements between the 13 Pro and the 15 Pro, so it's quite natural to show underwater too. The 15 Pro Max definitely has the best camera performance of any iPhone so far. But if you're asking me whether I would go with the 13 Pro Max or the GoPro Hero 12, I would choose the 13 Pro Max. The GoPro Hero 12 hasn't really convinced me. I don't like how the colors look on underwater footage, but above all, even the 13 Pro Max - when used inside a Divevolk Seatouch 4 Max is so much more versatile than the GoPro Hero 12. I would choose the iPhone 9 out of 10 times. PS: If you want to get the Seatouch, don't forget to use the code MATTHIASLEBO at checkout to receive an extra 6% discount on your order. 😉
Thanks buddy. No, you can record LOG in 4K 30fps directly onto your iPhone. If you want 4K 60fps, you will need to attach an external SSD, which obviously isn’t possible with any housing on the market at this stage.
Yes you can use the 0.5x lens without seeing anything of the housing in the corners. But if you don't use a Wide Angle Conversion Lens you will find the edges to be rather soft and a little blurry too. This is due to the light refraction when it goes from air to water.
Hi, I recently bought divevolk sea touch 4 max and using my iPhone 13 Pro Max , on the surface it’s working perfectly but when underwater the touch screen not working normal, I tried to reset my iPhone and tried again but the touch screen still not working properly underwater , sometimes working but most of the time it’s not working properly. Please help me if you can help me how to fix it 🙏
@@MatthiasLebo no screen protector on my iPhone and I followed all the instruction and setting too, but it's working well when I using my Xiaomi Foco f5 Android phone ( I bought adapter for Xiaomi phone) when I compare the adapter thickness, the Xiaomi adapter is thicker, do you think the adapter make on my iPhone not working properly? Because the shop gave me the printed one, not the original one
What zoom settings were u using for the close up shots? Those were great and ive got a trip coming up soon w my 15 pro max. Were u up close to the fish or zoomed way in?
Mostly the 5x lens with no digital zoom. That seems to create some really nice results. Just make sure you keep the minimal focusing distance to your object (about 30cm I think). Otherwise you won’t be able to focus properly.
@@MatthiasLebo ok great. Thank you. Heading to Bonaire in June. I have a Divevolk as well as Oceanic+. Just used the oceanic in the florida keys with good results other than some glitches when trying to do photo/video together. Would love to see a more updated review soon. Thanks again
I don’t think Oceanic will offer their housing to me again anytime soon. They weren’t too happy with my review. 😉 but I’m happy to give it another try if someone wants to send me the Oceanic+ housing again. 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks buddy. I was using a iPhone 15 Pro Max inside a Divevolk Seatouch 4 Max housing (bit.ly/3nVqDaS), a single handle tray (bit.ly/3CONPyP) and one SL50 video light (bit.ly/3YuJOcX).
