*Sends in Intimidate Pokémon* Bisharp: “Call an ambulance, call an ambulance!” _Bisharp’s Defiant_ *Bisharp’s Attack rose sharply!* Bisharp: “But not for me!”
32:23 Just for the curios people out there, the corect way ton say It Is: Bosketto because in Italian ch=K. If we want to write It as he sad in the video, It woud be Boscetto. I'm Just saying It Just as a littel curiosity, not to discredit the work of this of this guy and his Amazing crew.
Appreciate that as a bit of a tip. Folks oftentimes get way too caught up in pronunciation of words. I hardly know a foreigner who can pronounce much of English correctly but it's "racist" for Americans (especially white Americans) to point that out. Folks need to get over themselves. However, people trying to educate on a language, now that's interesting.
This video has taught me that dark moves often work very differently and work better when you use them in a specific way (Pursuit, Assurance, Sucker Punch, etc)
So there's this new move LASH OUT introduced in the latest Pokemon DLC. It's a move with a base power of 75 that DOUBLES when the user's stats are lowered in the same turn. 75 BP x 2 is a whopping 150 BP x 1.5 STAB boosts it to 225 x 2 because Bisharp's Defiant activating simultaneously makes it a MONSTROUS 450. I NEED to see this used... this move was MADE for our little Samurai.
I have no experience with using Cradily, but I hear that despite having two types infamous for their many weaknesses, both types together cancel out some of each other's weaknesses, so I guess Cradily is decently ok.
Ask in the community tab, not in the comments. They don’t look in the comments for suggestions anymore. Cradily is my favorite Pokémon ever, and I’m glad to see other people want that video. In OU it’s only been noteworthy in Gens 3 and 4. Gen 3 saw it as one of the most terrifying recipient-sweepers in full baton pass chains before bp got limited, and in Gen 4 it is a very niche Curse sweeper that struggles mightily with the popularity of Breloom but can solo carry games as an unkillable sweeper when its checks go down. Gen 4 Cradily was much better about a decade ago but then Breloom popped up. Since Gen 4 it hasn’t really had an OU niche but it’s been a solid defensive mon in lower tiers until it became untiered in Gen 7.
Harb1ng3r sir, yes. I havent even read half of the comment because at “cradily is my favorite ever” you already got me, so, imma be goin dere for a minute.
Bisharp is such a cool design, I knew it was a pretty good pokemon, didn't realize it was quite this good! It might not have a massive array of options like other pokemon, but its good traits are really, really good in the right circumstances. Its completely unique too (only dark/steel in the game), which is always a plus, nobody really outclasses Bisharp because nobody else does exactly what this thing does. Play well with it, and it will reward you.
I don't know if I'm alone in this, but as someone who doesn't care about Doubles, this would be a lot easier to watch if doubles/VGC content was all grouped into one section of the video. It's so much to skip through.
@@raythehomie123 No, Defiant raises Atk by two stages (hence why it raises attack against intimidate), so after an enemy defog it's exactly like if Bisharp set up a SD
@@raymondraymundo4596 It's one I made without even thinking over a year ago when my previous account was terminated (still no idea why) and always thought of changing ever since but never actually did. Glad at least someone likes it tho
Almost every mon definitely does not fear Lando. Lando can do a lot of things (which is why it's super popular) but it also has a lot of common weaknesses that would be common with or without its existence.
DrPumpkinz very true, usually out speeding it (which isn’t hard at all if it’s not running choice scarf) and targeting its not so stellar spdef will definitely get the job done. Even a neutral special attack can mess it up pretty hard if strong enough and many pokemon specifically gen 7 have the capability of doing so. (That or hitting it hard enough on the physical side that its intimidate won’t save it)
@@roccopiosaracino3681 yes, but weirdly enough Bisharp was not so great in that metagame, mainly because of the omnipresence of fighting and the almost total absence of intimidates, since only Krookodile and Stoutland got access to it back then. Se Jun was the one who showed the world what Bisharp could do, defeating Wolfe Glick in swiss (but losing to him in top cut) and since then his usage skyrocketed in vgc13 and 14 even before he got the buffed knock off (which he couldn't use until vgc15)
Update for future viewers: After all the gen 8 DLC dropped Slowking, Slowbro, and Slowking Galar all became OU and their regenerator-teleport shenanigans ruled the tier for a while. Eventually Bisharp became OU by usage as a counter and pushed Slowking into UU. Bisharp is currently comfortable at about 8% usage in OU doing its normal Bisharp things. It hard counters the two most used mons in the tier (Lando-T and Dragapult) and can sweep teams easily with a little bit of U-turn and hazard support.
About time we saw a good Pokémon. The fact that Bisharp’s video is over 30 minutes long and Fearow’s is under 10 really shows the difference in viability
I read ferrathorn instead of fearow and my first reaction was "wtf? Ferrathorn not good?" And then my thought was "WAIT WHAT??? WHY HAVE FERRATHORN?? HOW COULD I MISS THAT VIDEO??"
IMO it says more about a pokemons uniqueness in the meta. Fearow can be explained as "normal flying type with okay stab moves" meanwhile Bisharp is a little more complex
I think that even with a low BST, due to the nature of Pokémon (aka Specialist are usually gonna be better than generalists) as long as those stats are used correctly then a Mon can still be good while having a low BST.
@@saumyatyagi6763 that mon is insane too much power , great defencive utility especially with tera and too bulky to deal with almost felt like a cheat code
What if Pawniard, being a pawn, had branched evolutions so it can become other chess pieces just like how pawns can turn into other officials when they reach the end of the board.
@@siberiangopnik What if you had a 4th option which was like a Queen which could only happen if you had speed, attack, and defense all equal? And the queen could be the most powerful of the potential evolutions.
@@lyg483 Nope. Sucker Punch and Mach Punch are both +1 priority and it boils down to the user's base speed. But most mach punchers can survive a sucker punch that isn't highly boosted even if they're slower and Bisharp isn't a fan of fighting attacks due to quad weakness. Also, sucker punch will fail if the opponent gets in their attack (via increased priority like e-speed or outspeeding + priority) before you do. Mach Punch, on the other hand, has no such problem.
Bisharp: How will your team be able to counter me... when they're so busy mourning over you? Tapu Lele: *protects from Sucker Punch with Psychic Surge* Bisharp: ...? This usually works.
Pokemon Masters: We know Grimsley has Bisharp as his Ace! Also Pokemon Masters: Gives Grimsley (Regular and Sygna Suit) Liepard and Sharpedo respectively.
Drinking game: Take a shot every time you hear the words "Sucker punch" in this video. If you survive the alcohol poisoning, please tell me how far you got before you blacked out lol
Bisharp is literally the best partner for sticky web. If the opponent magic bounces the webs, Bisharp always gets +2 on switch in. If the opponent defogs the webs, Bisharp can switch in for a free +2. If the opponent leaves the webs, Bisharp now outspeeds a lot of pokemon.
@@beanslinger2sticky web doesn't drop your speed immediately, it drops your speed when you switch in. and either way the game treats magic Bounce as the user using the move, that's why using parting shot on Hatterene forces it to switch, and why reversing sticky webs still boosts your attack
I find it hilarious because this is the first time Game Freak nerfed a Pokemon like I mentioned it to somebody else. - 150 base stays to 140 or even 130 - King Shield -1 instead of -2 I don't think I posted it somewhere so they couldn't be spying on me. Or are they ->
@@M3rtyville How would Pokemon nerfs even canonically work in the Pokemon universe? Did the Aegislash council get together and go "The people are furious about us being a regular Pokemon in Ubers that isn't just a dumb gimmick! Now line up, I'm putting a chip in everyone's shield and I'm dulling your blades"
When you have a min maxed Pokémon with sky high attack and tech moves like sucker punch and swords dance (and an aggressively protective ability) Yeah, it's gonna hold well.
Blaster .M its mediocre, too fast for trick room, and quite slow for something thats so frail, without its strong typing and sucker punch bisharp would suck, there are pokemon with better stats who are way less competitively viable
My other comment is so much better than this one so I'm gonna copy paste my better comment here so that more people can see it. *Bisharp exists* Mach punch users: hi buddy.
I agree, along with Volcarona, Hydreigon, Scolipede, Excadrill, most of the legendaries and mythicals, Braviary and Klinklang. Yeah, Klinklang looks cool, shut up. XD Edit: Oh and I almost forgot my boi Conkeldurr. Edit 2: Pretty much almost all of them are cool and greatly designed.
Meanwhile gambit today - ubers in ndexou - 50% usage in OU (no 2 just behind tusk, survived a suspect test and the main argument for banning tera) - kowtow cleave has more bp than hyper beam with 5 dead allies (and 2hkoes all offensive tusk variants at +2 5dead) - some people are even running fast kingambit, even going so far as to run jolly on it to win the 1v1 against other gambit - has 5 viable tera types and can use almost every other tera in the game - has completely different checks depending on what tera - Literally THE BEST wincon in the game Its joever
I’ll never forget when I was apart of a little draft league, Bisharp was my MVP. It swept 2 teams, one a 6-0 and the other a 5-0. It was just due to predicting Defog and incoming Intimidate users correctly
+General COCO Sure, though they’re not entirely set in stone, nor ordered. It would be something like Spheal, Squirtle, Mewtwo, Mudkip, Sableye, Groudon, Crobat, Vikavolt, and Gengar.
Intimidate: h- Defiant: *...Seen through it. Your movements in the future. The trajectory of your movements in the future. Within Emperor Crimson’s ability, this world’s time disappears, and no one remembers the movements they made within this segment of time. The clouds in the sky don’t realise they’ve been broken apart. A flame that’s been extinguished doesn’t even realise the moment it went out. All that remains in this world are the results. In the world where time has been eliminated, all movements have become pointless! I am the only one who can react to these movements. I can see every single one of your movements! This is Emperor Crimson’s ability!*
When we transitioned from Gen 5 to Gen 6, introduction of fairy types and other changes, I just knew Bisharp was going to become a terror. And we have 35 minutes explaining exactly that!
@@crowmaster9652 Mymiku gets one shot by bisharps ironhead unless it has either a swords dance to instantly kill it or it still has disguise. sucker punch ohkos in 2 hits so unless you have a fresh mymiku you havent used yet, mymiku can still lose. Another please?
I remember using Bisharp on my hyper offense team just to dunk on stall, excadrill would set hazards against magic bouncers, and when they brought their defogger I would bring Bisharp to receive a boost.
instead of using sword dance you can just use leer lowering opponents defense then if bisharp faints your next pokemon can still take it out because of the lowered defense better than wasting a sword dance
@@rajt9996 that's usually the famous last words people say before they get OHKO. You have a bulky pokemon? cool bro watch while I lower it's defense and OHKO your pokemon
@@charizardpropaganda no because you OHKO their pokemon then they switch so you still took down their pokemon and you could set up spikes with a sacrificial pokemon before you even use bisharp. Most likely people will use fire pokemon to try beat bisharp so then your next pokemon you switch into is the pokemon that will beat the typing that beat bisharp. So for example they use fire to beat bisharp then you switch into water etc...they beat your water with grass you match that with poison or another type
