He was one of the best post players of his time and another overshadowed PF due to the Duncan Dirk KG trio. Most people only know him from his Pacers days but he was a beast with Chris Paul back on the Hornets. Glad he got his ring with the Warriors, while also being productive.

AJ The Wright Gamer there was just too much Power Forward. The 2000s was a Fort Knox of Power Forward Talent: Tim, Dirk, KG, O’ Neal, Bosh, (there was one from the Clippers,) and of course, Armane Stoudemire

I love the 2007-08 Hornets Part. This team was the forgotten original lob city with Chris Paul and Tyson Chandler. Their starting lineup also included Peja Stojakovic and Mo Peterson.

Speaking as a Pacer fan, this guy elevated us into a championship contender. Even though Paul George was the star, David West was the leader and heart of the team. Pacers went to him in crunch time when they needed a bucket.

Andrew Weaver Whenever the expectations were high, David West didn’t step up. He was up against the Spurs in New Orleans after CP3 had monster offensive games and West gave them nothing when it mattered; in spite being an all star. He goes to Indy and he’s the 3rd scoring option and he still failed to contribute. Nonetheless the guy had a good career. He’s a 2nd tier player who was good enough to be a starter. But if he’s your 2nd or 3rd scoring option, your team isn’t going far.

I like David West but never followed him that much. From what I remember he was a borderline All-Star who played hard, was tough, and always consistent. I was happy to see him win because in Detroit we respect hard workers

In the playoffs, good teams usually have an 8 man rotation. (5 starters and a backup playmaker, backup wing, and backup big) David West played the role of "backup big" during those 2 championships in Golden State. That's huge. Even though he was older, there's no doubt that he was a key piece to those Championships. David West had a great career.

Thanks for featuring my idol David West. I grew up idolizing Timmy and KG then this man came, i followed my game next to him and his demeanor and approach to things is very professional. He's very underrated but as you've said Andy, he held he's own. Damn, miss this guy.

David was was a great player and was fun to be around to, I go to a lot of games and media events and some players are jurks or outright mean to fans wanting autographs but David West spoke to us and seemed happy to meet us and sign our gear and basketballs. A real pleasure to meet while a beast on the court. I'm so glad he got the titles he deserves. It's crazy how overlooked he was in his time in the NBA should have been to at least 5 all star games but a work horse who didn't seek the spot light is sometimes overlooked by the league.

Grew up a pacer fan living in Indianapolis then moved to Garner, NC and attended high school school at the school he graduated from. It made me feel at home when I walked through the hall and saw his plaque on the wall with a pacer jersey. My favorite pacer of all time personally.

Really cool vid. I went to X the same 4 years West was there. He was absolutely incredible in college. You hit the nail on the head with the draft and his stock falling due to age. Redo the 03 draft and he’s 5th or 6th pick. As a Cavs fan I wanted him on the team so bad with bron in 15-17 era. Would have been nice to have him.

I remembered west in 2013 playoffs as a pacers. Together with Roy hibbert, lance stephenson, paul george, and george hill. I even watched a commercial where they are known as "the mighty pacers".

One thing about PF positions was always stacked from the 2000s era to mid 2010 era like Garnett, Duncan,Dirk, Bosh, Stoudmire, Boozer, West, Josh Smith, Webber,Randolph, Aldridge, Gasol,Brand, O’Neal and the list goes on

D. West was Solid as a rock. As a lifelong Detroit Pistons fan, I used to dread it when we went head-to-head against the Pacers. David West was strong enough to bang with elite power forwards, quick enough to stay with small forwards, and was just all around smart with the basketball. Glad he got his ring!

Hey Andy can you make a video about how good was Al Harrington? As a warrior fan I remember him as a being an undersized 4 and sometimes 5 under the run n gun We Believe team coached by Don Nelson. His style of play would definitively translate in today’s nba with his versatility and ability to knock down 3s and being constant mismatches for opposing bigs of that time. Keep of the great work!

David west was hella underrated on No and Indi, he was shadow by James ,melo and wade when he hit golden state he wasn’t even in his prime but those were his best year imo
