The best driver to ever compete in F1

Simply put, Michael Schumacher was the most dominant driver F1 ever saw. Basically he was the undisputed F1's best driver for 11 straight seasons, and even when he drove cars like the Ferrari F310 from 1996 he was a factor each and every race weekend. Won 2 championships for a team that without him basically went quickly to the back of the grid, moved to Ferrari and even with an uncompetitive car won in a season more races than Ferrari had done in the previous 5 years. Its almost 20 years since he left Ferrari and yet they failed to win what he alone won for Maranello (72 wins) Dude had an impressive work ethic and rebuilt Ferrari from the ground up, making them fight for championship after championship and from 2000 onwards he basically obliterated each and every F1 record, only to be stopped by some of the most bizarre regulations FIA ever created.

Michelin cheated with their tyres the whole time they were against Bridgestone. Even Martin Brundle ( Passional Schumacher hater) said that the rules state that there were supposed to be three and later four visible grooves on the tyres at all times. Williams in particular used to run their front tyres bold ( Slicks ) and they were wider than allowed until Ferrari finally protested in 2005. All the idiots claiming Michael was a cheat can throw that same blanket over the whole of Snormula 1 from it's inception in 1950 up until the present day.

Racing enthusiasts, I must say that I begin watching and following formula 1 in 1987. I graduated high school in 1987. You have to evaluate the circumstances of during those years, as well as the tracks and cars. And I just do not think that Hamilton would ve done as well, had he entered formula 1 when shoemacker did. Remember, their were more daring circuits, less rules to abide by, and less driver aides in the cars. And more seasoned champions in the racing field. With all that. I just do not think he would ve been as good. Despite Hamilton went threw the ranks like most of them.

Michael Schumacher made the most of Rory Byrne's genius, and enjoyed number 1 status at Ferrari (I was very young, but I did watch that infamous Austria ending). He also benefitted from in-season testing. The amount of testing available was dictated by the team's budget. Ferrari always had the biggest budget, and therefore ran their cars as often as MS needed. Not a single driver today has that kind of advantage.

Love Hamilton and feel like he’s my goat but I just wish I was able to watch shumi, if I were older at that time I’m sure he’d be my goat. Still goat status tho, hopefully he’s recovering slowly
