Paul Peirce was the epitome of the phrase" Sneaky Good "with his abundance of countermoves and strong foot work to compliment his clutch shooting back in his prime.

Paul Pierce is literally the reason why I watch basketball to this day. Started watching him in 07-08, then got hooked on basketball and never looked back!
Damn, you missed his best years. He was leaving his prime right about that time in 07-08. There's a reason his nickname was "The Truth" though. Paul Pierce could absolutely ball. Guy was never a "high-flyer" but he used to get up a lot when he was younger. Athletic, could shoot midrange and deep, savvy ballhandler, could attack the basket, played great D. People don't remember his earlier years too much and that's a real shame. That's when he earned his nickname. Pierce had that dog in him.
He hated the Celtics, never wanted to play there at first, they werent a good team either. Yet he played his entire prime there and won a championship. Young players need to learn a thing or two from this.

🤦🏾♂️ Nah every situation is the same Dame looking like a fool staying loyal 🤣 and if Lebron didn’t choke against the mavs Dirk wouldn’t have gotten a ring sometimes you gotta know when to go 💯
The issue is that he became a media figure and people found out how unlikeable he is. Guy should have just kept his mouth shut and he'd be way more respected.
After hitting a fall away buzzer beating bank shot to win a playoff game he was asked “Did you call bank?” He replied: “I called game!” The audacity, that audacity was Paul Pierce.
Those who think he was a bum, Lebron James always says that Pierce and the Celtics are his greatest rivals. Celtics vs Lebron have always been some of the greatest games ever. If Celtics never gate-kept Lebron on the Cavs from the finals, he would have never went to Miami and even when he was in Miami the Celtics vs Heat series in 2012 was one of the best series I’ve ever seen thanks to Pierce and Rondo vs Lebron
If kids during my childhood days wanted to be like AI, MJ, Kobe, TMac or VC, I am one of those kids who wanted to be like The Truth. He's my childhood hero and will forever be my favorite basketball player ever. ☘️💯
I wasn't a kid at that time. I was in my early 20s. Everybody was riding Iverson's coattail. I was a Paul Pierce fan. I remember watching the playoff series of Celtics vs 76ers with my homeboy and his girl who were both Iverson fans. They really didn't know anything about Pierce. My dog kept calling Pierce trash but by game three, his girl was like, "Nah, Bae. That dude is good."

It's a shame that instead of praising Pierce for empowering the Celtics' glorious franchise and cementing himself among its greats, because there are so many great Celtics players over the years with more accolades, such as Cowens, Russell, Cousy,Havlicek,Bird, McHale(who is underrated), Parish etc. he is sooooooooooo overlooked, especially by non Celtics fans. Also, even those who congratulate him for his ring, who aren't many, I despise the fact that they forget how the ring was just the cherry on top in his career and what he provided Boston over 15+ years. Many think this is one of very few historic moments even though Pierce has had countless. Finally, why are people forgetting that Pierce is the only player to lead a team past both prime Kobe and prime LeBron while also doing solid as their primary defender and successfully trading buckets with them?

Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker are a very underrated Celtics duo those two got me into the Celtics more, and the best moments in his career is when he scored 46 points in the 2002 NBA, playoffs, and won a championship in 2008. They say that he had that old man's game style but he can really hoop.
If he had the athleticism of the tmacs, kobes, wades, etc there's no question he'd be talked up a lot more. He was more the crafty type though. Methodical. Efficient though
It's cause he says outrageous things like saying he's better than wade or his Boston bias like when he said Boston would beat the bucks after winning game 1. Nothing against him he just needs a reality check from time to time lol
Bruh, he $hit his pants on the court and faked an injury, he's self proclaimed himself to be a top five SF, he's delusional about a lot of things, he's arrogant, and so on and so forth. Just because you're a Celtics fan doesn't mean you have to suck off every one of their players bro 😂
He is legend. I love him as a player! But when he retired, he was pretty annoying! He was the reason we lost the ECF vs Miami. He should stay at home and not in the TD Garden pumping, shouting and jumping! He is a jinx! Both he and Shaq is a jinx.
@@paul9299Is he supposed to think he’s worse then lebron? It’s called self confidence something that probably helped him get to the NBA, you gotta be a little delusional to keep that confidence
It's probably cause he a LeHater and also thinks he's an all time great like he's very good but if you were to pick a SF I don't think your 3rd option would even be Pierce
I can’t tell you how many games I watched that ended with a Pierce buzzer beater from the elbow. He was automatic from that drive, stop short, (sometimes questionable push off lol) pull up from the elbow.

People that are mad at him saying he was better than Wade just don't know basketball. Am I saying he's better? No! But he has every right to because he was a contender and he was a superstar. He has every right to claim it and has an argument as well.
@@DonGivani 11 years aint even been round long nuff to see pierce play tho tf? by the time they start watchin ball or understanding shit they 5 or 6 yrs old by then truth was alr out the league so wtf r u talking about?
@@traiwitz2736 I was exaggerating..like this man didn't know Larry Bird, Bill Russel, Havlicek and others...the ones who put the franchise on the map...more than what Pierce did
@@DonGivani mane everyone knows who those guys are obv and that birds the best celtics ever. he aint say pierce was the best celtic ever, just that he was his favorite. he prob aint grow up watching the OG celtics so aint rock w em like he did truth and thats fine. youre gonna fw a player more who you grew up watchin than you will a legend before your time even if youre aware that the legends better. i fw bron timmyd steph and kobe more than i do mj shaq hakeem magic bird kareem etc cause i grew up watchin the boys of today, even tho im well aware mjs the goat and magics the best pg ever theyre far from my faves. so idk what point ur tryin to make still
The truth 🔥🔥🔥 one of the smartest offensive players ever, elite footwork, sneaky first step, can play the post, can iso, can move without the ball, mid range, pull up, 3s and CLUTCH.
As a former kid who didn't knew much about Paul Pierce but as an ESPN analyst with scandal, I now gained new found respect for Pierce after surviving those stab wounds
I was very sad when I heard the news that Paul Pierce was leaving the Boston Celtics for the Brooklyn Nets in 2013. The 2013-2014 season was really bad for the Nets.
One of the most underrated players of all time. One of the most clutch guys to ever play this sport. Wasn’t no D-Wade but when he needed to show up he showed up.
Always loved Paul Pierce's game and I never thought of the comparison to Luka but it's very true! Both played at their own speed. I alway ALWAYS defended him against anyone that had something bad to say about him. I've even heard multiple people say they just didn't like how he looked...like wft? I'm from Houston btw so no homerizim
I suggest watching clips of Pierce when he has the ball more back in the early 00s or recent clips when he was older running the pick n roll. You will see some similar him and luka operate, of course Luka is more ball dominant but you'll see both Pierce and Luka out smarting their defenders by playing in their own speed, footwork and basketball iq.
Paul Pierce is definitely top 10 SF of all time. 1. Lebron 2. Bird 3. KD 4. Pippen 5. Erving 6. Havlicek 7. Kawhi 8. James Worthy 9. Paul Pierce 10. Rick Barry HM: Melo, Baylor, Wilkins
He was clutch af. He didn't WOW as much with the athleticism like some of his opponents, but was crafty and got to his spots. Never shyed from the moment. Midrange game was lethal, and wasn't a slouch defensively either. His takes as an analyst are what they are lol, but he was legit
I remember being in grade 8 when i got caught doing a yahoo fantasy draft and my teacher saw me and after looking up and down at the screen..he calmy said "that paul peirce is something else " and he walked away haha . I listened to him and picked the Truth. I think it was the year he lead the league in points and he had the most fantasy points as well...at the time i didnt even know who he was😅
Bro may I suggest, can you create a video about, "Best NBA players who played in their one and only team in their whole career? " I already subbed in your channel bro
Man, I low key miss Paul, and he was honestly a sleeper athlete being able to boom on anyone's head, I'll confidently put him in my top 10 SFs all time
I thought it was weird how definitively they said he wasn’t a top 10 small forward. I don’t think it’s as obvious as some other guys, but you can definitely make a case for Pierce.

Paul Pierce one of the greatest Celtics ever and one of the most clutch player ever. Also next video can you do a how good was ray allen please? Because ray Allen is one of my favorite nba players ever
The fact that ge survived that brutal stabbing and then became a champion is a fairytale story on its own. His media takes might not be the smartest ones every now and then but one still has to honor The Truth.
20 secs in and while i agree up until 2015 paul pierce was lebrons greatest rival but 2015 started the lebron vs curry era and that rivalry is unmatched in this generation
i grow up watching that lakers and centics finals, ngl. the championship run of the truth was one remarkable runs for me. Paul was him at that time, hes not that good analyst like perk, but as a player he was real nice
this why all that trash talk Draymond Green had for Pierce never made sense to me. Draymond Green off the Warriors would be mid as hell, Paul Pierce was a straight bucket for most of his career and won a Finals MVP on a stacked Celtics team
paul nearly had 2 game winning/game tying buzzer beater with washington in one playoff series, the second one he just barely didn't get it off in time. clutch even as an old man, he was shooting step back every night before james harden double step back is popular.
“Selfish 1 on 5 basketball” 🤦🏽♂️. That season everyone was giving him props for his maturity on & off the court, getting the young guys involved & all that
Yeah cant even pronounce "Battie" right 😂 Paul became a better all around player during those rebuilding, he was even letting young guys take clutch shots in crunch time but I hated them for tanking, I saw a ton of the games when they were only down 10 or even 8 but they'll bury Pierce at the bench in the 4th to intentionally lose 😂 it all worked out as they won in 08 but 05-07 was hard to watch, but will always remember young dudes like Al Jeff, Ryan gomes, delonte, rajon, perk, T.A.
