Back in the old days, Celestial Teriri was game changer Valk, it was the first Backbone Valk and no one can't replace her until 4.6, the day HoS was released and replaced Teri.

while i was not there, i do admit the change in playstyle from back then to now was quite surprising. Back then, Valks Ult Evasions need to be timed while now, it'd be surprising to have a new Valk's Ult Evasion not activated at the push of a button

Does anyone remember the time when abyss had you scale an area while fighting area bosses, or even further back when it involved just staying alive for as long as possible while the environment bled you to death.

Man I remember those old days, although I was not really that meta-brained back then. I also remember when the greatest valk ever was introduced: Oath of Judah.

This honestly showed me I'm older than I thought lol. I remember the days of watching Just3c guided for everything as well as old titans like Schrodinger, Plank, DXY, etc. I was a total noob and could barely completely abyss and arena but I still had so much fun with the game. I wonder if anybody else remembers when healing the team was actually important, making Divine Prayer one of the best for old old Abyss. I was always amazed by the things people pulled off for Arena, and while rotation these days are easier, I also found that a lot of finesse was lost for style.

Back then, QTE could still trigger even tho you are still in global time slow and you can chain back into VC's ult evasion, thus creating an infinite time slow. It was really fun staying under 2% at the time even as f2p. Everyone was participating in memorial and easy to make the cut.

Do how good the original trios A rank battle suits were. Their battlesuits that got core augmented( example: Void Ranger, Striker fulminata, Drive Kometa). Hoping to see if you could do all their A-rank battlesuits, but I that might be too much to ask. 😅

Comparing the gameplay from then to now is amazing. I started in 2019 and you can tell the first 8 chapters haven't aged well

I really liked this idea of doing a series about "old/early days Honkai"! Even tho these infos are outdated, they turned into historical knownledge and are still very interesting to learn about and analyse how we reached the current state of the game. I'd just suggest to turn down a bit the bg volume, since sometimes Kiana talks out loud and I can't really hear you talk 😅 But keep up with this, pls!!!

Back then Abyss was quite special and can be annoying, then you can bomb other captain's to lower their score, it was quite hectic and quite constanly looking at your points. The funny thing I tried using Mei crimson impusle to test and troll something.

I love watching old meta strats way more than current meta because of the amount of details and execution it took for them, nowadays, its just click one button and boss dead and more than half the time it's just flashy animations.

I started back when dorm supply costed 280 crystals, there's 4 different equivalents of twin sakura and armada raid was still a thing Time flies

This video gave my a little nostalgic feeling of using VC with Schrodinger T to burst some bosses lol Only the goats will remember the time when Dimension Breaker was god tier in that old abyss iirc was called by "dirac sea" that any valks would receive tons of bleed dmg as the battle goes and she was good to benefit from time lock mechanic preventing your team to die and pratically a must have for anyone to complete the abyss specially because she was able to extend SS freeze to eternity then at least your team wouldn't be getting hit by the enemies Also, only the goats will remember those meta where Oath of Judah was the best valkyrie of the game lol

You could do the first Fu Hua, Himeko, and Teresa. Or why not the first Herrscher trio?

Oh god, I remember having to try to use VC in some case when I've started (which was pretty late so there was a lot of way more meta Valks, but I missed them), and I just hate all Bronya battlesuit before HoR. Thanks for reminding me that ahah

I think it'll be nice to go through history, though it may be tiring? Like what fire/ice/phys/lightning was used back in the beginning and what replaced them now

the release of HoT would be fun to see!! I joined a little bit before she came out and was not meta savvy, but it seemed like she was both the first relevant mei battle suit and a top damage dealer for such a long time until mobius came out

Looking at the original valks makes you look the new trio in a different way: a lot of people complain about the look of the new characters but can we talk about how bad Mei looks in her original outfit? It's so bad that mihoyo used it in CG only one time (the HoV cg) and never again, even in "Graduation trip" Mei is the only original character that doesn't appear with her original outfit.

Wasn't around for the really early days, I only started playing around HoR (lucky enough to pull her right away) and VD so there were already a fair few powerhouses which covered the basics of types. To this day the hardest boss I've fought isn't any of these new one (though for a while I despised whatever that MA boss that restores health to itself if you haven't applied enough bleed stacks), it's some of those old enemies in MA or Abyss. The Padrino mech that spawned more of itself and was the only enemy in the game that would drop my phones frames to minimal once it put up it's shield. The archers that you had to fight in wide open spaces that always kited to opposite corners. The mages that turned invisible frequently . The Templars with their huge shields and ability to paralyse you that you fought in tiny hallways barely able to fit them. The giant collosals that you had to fight 2 at a time that spun around every other attack and had to kill both with around the same time frame or the one you killed would respawn. All those enemies are still around but the bigger enemy was always the bleed timer which would get out of hand very quickly if you weren't quick enough, so any enemy that could kite, be untargetable or tanky as hell became exceptionally annoying, especially when they where the ones marked as hard difficulty in the old abyss format.

I'd like to see something about the augmented versions of some of the older valks...i always thought the augment system was such a good idea at making older valks feel a bit more fresh and fun without the need to add completely new battlesuits for them.

Still remembered the Teri's Judah strat. Pulled for 2 Judahs and then 3 or 4 version later that strat was dead, replaced by another valks.

I started playing this game during the theatre of domination period and I immediately fell in love in Fu Hua. Night Squire was also one of the first battlesuits I pulled and had interesting gameplay mechanics. How was Fu Hua (not necessarily Night Squire, even other versions) perceived back in the day ? Was she meta ?

I literally used valkrie chariot when i was new to the game back with mobius(so only about 2 years ago) release because I had not a single character other than her who could group enemies in the abyss/dirac sea.

I think it would be cool to talk about the Kallens. They are reeeeeeally forgotten by now, more than Himeko probably. I unfortunately only got the Sixth Serenade era, and the other ones were already pretty bad XD. Was there a moment in time where the other ones were strong at all? I personally LOVE Sündenjäger Kallen, and I would do ANYTHING for miHoYo to add her in ER and make her playable again. I've been asking since the beginning of ER in the surveys XD. Sadly, Ritual Imayoh is in ER, but I don't personally like that play style :/

There is no Open World back then, when Sakura and the first OW release my device cant handle it lmao. A lot player compet to farm Crimson Impluse and Divine Prayer(for raid side as healer) as high as possible, all of Himeko card is DPS there include first gacha valk like KMB and LE, if i remember correctly i use KMB for 1k combo achivement i think 🤣

Based on early story missions, White Comet absolutely ruled because of her massive aoe in burst which cleared entire rooms ins seconds and lasted quite a while as opposed to the two other valks who had so small range (Mei) or didn't deal any damage (Bronya).

VC missile stack is the best OG strat

Crimson Impulse is still useful in niche situations, though not necessarily high end content - there are a decent number of stages in the character stories that have a goal to launch enemies into the air a certain number of times, and her charged attack can send enemies into the air really easily, whereas some characters have to do a whole combo to get the chance, which can be annoying if you're super overlevelled (and since the new account bonuses are so good, there's honestly a decent chance you'll be overlevelled by the time you get around to them), as you might just kill everything before you get the chance. She's probably not the absolute best character for launching enemies (idk who would be, I haven't been playing long enough to have good knowledge of units I don't have), but she does it pretty dang well, and she's free, so anyone can just slot her into their team for those stages, launch enemies the required number of times, and then swap back to your built characters (assuming she's not built).

Man, I love all the nostalgia strats ppl are listing here but i'm quite sad no one is mentioning Hawk of the Fog era. Prob the most f2p friendly era of the game, since her only competition was SP Seele + CH for mob abyss and maybe HoR and SN for some MA bosses and they were all expensive compared to one woman army fu hua. I remember abyss bleed being insane and only surviving bcs of her I-frames, and also all the cool keeby strats using her in MA. She was easy to learn but incredibly hard to master, such a rewarding valk man. I love HoT but she needed to be like super OP at the time bcs doomposting was rampant bcs she was competing with the f2p queen at the time
