This is beautiful work. The CNC machine is just another tool in the shop and in the hands of a master great things happens when all tools are used properly
it is fine to use cad and cnc machines i agree totaly but you cant call it made by hand , yes once he says 100% built by hand which it is i agree but its not Made by hand as later said . it ditracted from a fantastic video and very fine workmanship .
@@deadlata9767 fiberglass on it's own is not unsustainable as such, but as soon as you soak it in synthetic ressin you create a so called monstrous hybrid that can not be reused nor broken down by nature, leaving only the landfill or insinneration which releases toxic chemicals into the air and ground. anything that pollutes the land and cannot be carried on indefinitely is per default unsustainable.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING….CANT TELL YOU HOW MUCH RESPECT I HAVE FOR YOUR SKILLS AND INNOVATIVENESS!…..also made in USA 🇺🇸 not china!😡😡😡👍👍👍………respect from the UK 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I think its great you guys made this but you shouldve made it longer and showed more of York, I have a 2 houses right down from there shop its a beautiful place
Provided the rails are shaped properly they are on par with regular boards in terms of performance and weight. A Weber wooden board has been ridden at XXL nazare.
So odd that this video comes up today when I just finished sanding out a mini Grain twin fish model (similar to the little board being held by the mannequin hand in the beginning of the video). I got it as a gift two years ago and FINALLY got around to making it today. Very weird
Nah, surfboards are usually carved entirely by machine and then glasses by hand. This is definitely a more hand on approach. Still not truely hand made, but not truely machined.
When you have a cnc in the shop you know that is another tool in your box... that's it.... I also manufacturing wooden board.. and they are made by hand, with a cnc too!!
Nothing. Different materials make for a different ride. Push the tech too has produced natural epoxies etc and made the priduction methods less poisoning for everyone involved.
Amazing. I hope I come across one of these in my life. I love working with wood and if I had a woodshop I be making art like these... 🤙 Lmk if you'll ever open a shop in Hawaii ill come work for a surf board. Aloha
Hand crafted with boat epoxy by guys who likely never surfed or worked for a shaper. Yeah, I'd totally go for a HUGE floater knowing a $2,500 board was under my feet.
Drawknife, get one on ebay, but as with all edge tools they have to be kept sharp, and there's a lot of edge there. Also, they're not for small cuts, nor easy to control. You need straight grain wood, strength, and practice to use one effectively.

I mean... cutting the fishbone frame is probably the easiest part of this. If they used a jigsaw (as I do) would that be by hand or would they have to use a coping saw? They also cut, mill, plane and sand the lumber with machines.
