Grant is a Fantastic teacher. Notice how he says nothing negative, constructive criticism. Keeps it positive!

The language Grant uses is a big part of what helps. He has obviously been around some great teachers of the game, not only is he very positive and re-enforcing the little wins, but things that golfers can hear to create the result he's aiming for - hitting the inside of the golf ball, explaining why a draw with irons is more useful than a fade. All great stuff

I watched a video of Adam Scott during a practice session. The guy shooting it asked Adam what he works on with his coach. He said they primarily worked on alignment, standing the same distance from the ball every time, and tempo. Crazy.

I've often thought it myself that Peter's swing particularly with his scoring irons is a thing of beauty... So smooth & Rhythmically

The athleticism and skill to make these changes and still hit the ball pure in just a couple of swings.... Your swing is a gift from a higher power.

More of this. This was very interesting. The aim alignment thing was exceptionally cool to see feel vs reality. I also like how it only took a few swings for Pete to change and still hit it so pure. I was having issues chipping the ball last year, could not figure it out. Normally really good. One guy watching me says "You're dipping". Instant light bulb moment. Some times it just takes a nice trained eye to fix small things.

I wish you would have filmed your reaction to seeing those swings on film.

I loved this. No silly nonsense, just sorting a beautiful golf swing. Peter has a beautiful backswing and transition.

Wow… as a dad who spends money on kids lessons and not my own anymore. I have been fighting toe strikes for a little while. I do play a fade and get steep, a lot like Pete (just left handed). I practice this uncomfortable into out swing just to keep that movement when needed.. I have never considered my fade causing my toe strikes because of path like that. Honestly thank you both - off to the range.

Thank you for this video, aiming and body alignment is always left aside by many people. They always try to fix their swing when that is not the issue.

Fun stuff as usual. I always like really technical stuff about golf, even though I'm just getting to a place where I can call myself a lowish handicapper I love learning about swing mechanics.

Great stuff

For notorius faders of the ball with pull tendencies in order trap it from inside for draw you have to shift your body more towards target in downswing before you start to rotate. And adapt to a slightly stronger grip or bow your wrist more. Sight of line can be deceiving. That's because for most people, if they turn their head towards target, their eyeline is not parallel to target anymore but left of it (righthanders). Make the experiment: ask a random group of players where they think they aim at, in 95% it's much more to the left than actual orientation is. Solution: turn your head differently or just trust your aim from behind the ball and don't look at the target anymore once over the ball.

grant is one crazy talented golfer, he said in one of micahs videos that he never works out and goes up from bed at like 11 am. imagine if he worked as hard as the tour pros, he would easily be on the tour imo. dude knows the golf swing spot on

Really cool video, really like how this focus around fundamentals and “FEEL”. Getting it clear in your mind allows your natural instincts to drive swing motion. We don’t all have the same range of movement so why do we all try to swing the club the same 🤷🏻‍♂️

More of a humorist view of this...but Peter, your expressions of "thar be dragons" mid-video when you're trying to wrap your head around where you need to aim are priceless.

Peter has a classic technical swing. I was having a problem hitting draws and 7 yard hooks. A friend looked at me hit 3 balls, adjusted me from closed shoulders and immediately went back to straight balls. Personally I don’t like to work approach shots with fades and draws. I would rather ge the distance right and aim straight. But I rarely attack pins except when playing scrambles.

There is a reason pros constantly work on the basics. alignment, posture, ball position, grip.

This is good stuff. I draw the ball as my natural flight.... but for whatever reason I keep hearing Trevino in my brain "you can talk to a fade but a draw wont listen) and I try to fight that natural draw- which then leads to getting steep and wipey fades. Ugh. Gotta just align myself right of target, ensure all the basics are covered before the club goes back and think "rotational high draw". Then away we go. Liked that alot. Thx lads.

As a 14 handicap player I would love to spend a few hours with Grant working on my swing. People who I play golf with say I have swung the same way since I was a kid, which I find funny because I've tried a lot of different things over the years and always end up with what feels natural to me.

Great video, guys. I’ve been watching this recent set and believed those bladed irons were just too difficult to strike consistently, Pete, but it now seems it was a basic alignment issue. Interesting. So cool how you were able to take instruction and implement the change in such a short period of time. The difference between a PGA Pro and the great unwashed I guess.

Pete, you're such an amazing golfer. Your striking is impressive. When you watch the video, I hope you notice the blue alignment lines they imposed on the screen. That alignment aid on the ground was actually aimed a tiny bit left of the flag. I really like the new swing. Mis-hits won't be as penalizing. My instructor many years ago said something that never left me. After getting my slight draw, just like you just did, he said "do that 1,000 times and it's yours". Too bad I only did it 999 times because I blade the ball so much now it's not fun. That is probably the main reason your striking is so impressive... Pete, just do it 1,000 times. It will be muscle memory and automatic under pressure.

Pete hitting draws (lovely by the way), Rick and Carter hitting fades, what is going on lol jokes aside - zeroing out your path and checking alignments is something we can all do to improve our own swings, thank you.

Understand the golf swing better watching such high quality content, even though I am a higher handicapper. I learn a lot about the game from your tournament/qualifier vids as well. Great tempo.

I love the draw, and lament that today's professionals have largely abandoned it, especially off the tee. You can still fade the ball with that draw swing and hitting the inside of the ball with proper alignment and clubface direction. I would have loved to see this being demonstrated.

@GrantHorvatTeaches , you need some of these types of graphics and images during your lessons. It's a big help

I’m actually a fan of aiming right at the pin with the feet. A parallel line to it would be the distance between your feet and the ball, which is what? 2-3 ft. I think most golfers would be okay hitting it just a few ft right of the pin. I think folks get in trouble because what they see as parallel oftentimes ends up being considerably left of target.

I know that sometimes the camera angle creates differing angles but from the video it looks like your shoulder alignment is still open, I’d try to straighten this off not so much by closing the shoulders but by softening the right elbow slightly which will shallow the swing out and give a better connection through the swing.. but hey whatever works for you is what matters.. wouldn’t worry to much as timing wise you’ll fall back into…

Grant has an eye for details and picks up on little thing very quickly. You almost never see that in a younger coach/pro. At least in my experience.
