This is good info Grant, glad you two did this one. I can sometimes struggle with depth on driver. I find that when I have depth the ball control is wicked good. But when the swing gets too steep my wrist angles get jacked and all kinds of bad stuff happens.
@@drewjordeyes. Keep your hands inside and low. If you slice that, your face is open too. Hands deep and hands low with face control will produce a draw
After watching this and what you did with Trent, I have been working on taking the club back inside and keeping my hands low. Working on the feels now and will be taking it to the range as soon as weather allows
Dude Wes went on a tear. I had a feeling having George there would bring that dog out in him. Sucks to see George move down the leaderboard today. Was really hoping for a top 10 finish for him
Wes played great rounds 2-4. I’d like to hear feedback from Wes and see if he utilized getting the arms deeper during the tourney. Did he play a draw during the even this weekend? I was telling my brother the other day. Before Wes hurt his wrist he mainly hit a draw and his swing was more shallow. I hope this changed brings him back to that form.
As a veteran instructor with decades of experience and teaching thousands of lessons a year, I will testify that Grant's knowledge and his understanding of cause and effect in a golf swing are incredible for such a young man. To recognize that swing plane is often the result of lower body movement is next level and I would guess 90% of instructors would start by trying to fix the issue with the arms instead of the hips. More and more impressed with Grant all the time. And he is definitely my swing crush!! Good job guys.
Gotta say for Wesley as a PGA pro with healthy ego, to trust a youngster like Grant for guidance in his swing shows how humble and mature he really is as not only a golfer but a human. Grant obviously knows his stuff but still Mad respect guys.
I think Grant is a great example of having more knowledge than skill. That’s saying a lot about his knowledge of the game because he’s obviously very skilled
Active army soldier stationed in Florida here. Would only dream one day to get a lesson from grant. Already from what I learned from him from the old channel and now on his own gig I been hitting in the mid /high 80s consistently. Much appreciated.
I don't know if there is any better confirmation of Grant's teaching potential than this video right here. To be able to help a player of Wesley's caliber is truly impressive.
The sound of those shots. It’s like ASMR. Grant’s teaching is awesome. He’s getting an idea of what Wesley is trying to emulate (riviera swing), hearing about why positions are hard for Wesley due to injury, and adjusting their drill or feeling to find a new and improved feeling. That’s awesome.
That was super fun to have Grant explain Wesley's swing. I've always noticed how he folds his wrists behind his head. He has been sort of flippy up top. I had no idea if it was a good thing or a bad thing. Grant had him bring it deeper and farther out, and it just looked so good! Congrats on the finish this week Wesley!
Grant, I love that you came out with this channel! If you're interested in coming out to Hawaii here on O'ahu and need someone for a lesson to better their game... let me know!
This lesson did wonders for me. Did some range work today and realized I’ve been getting too steep in my backswing. Kept it low and compact after watching this and was really hitting well. Great i sight. Also - happy to see both Bryan Bros do so well in Bermuda!
You guys are such a blast to watch. No corniness, the right amount of banter and top class golf. Really enjoyed this video, shows just how humble Wes is
I’m only 2 and a half min in. As somebody the age of the Bryant brothers. Watching the inside they path recommendation. :: it makes me so happy. All the kids these days love the California coaches name guy. Which is also fine. But I’m happy to see the old school Wesleybswing. Body rotation. Inside the swing line hands. His hands are amazing. Use them.
I have had several shoulder surgeries and understand what Wesley is saying about the tightness, and loss of mobility. I went from having a backswing I didn't have to think about to similar issues. As Grant diagnosed I also had to get my hip turn a bit deeper as well and feel that my backswing was a bit more around me to get proper hand depth. Great observations and lesson!
It's great to have an extra set of eyes to watch your swing. It's even better to have the extra set be Grant's because Grant can see things most people can not see. Plus he help correct the problem.
This was well explained and I understand it completely. To have a Pro like Wesley respond the way that he did, means one thing, Grant is on the ball with lessons and proper positions of the gold swing...........
Grant just showing why he's on that goat path, and Wes being a golf talent. Always jokes, but you can see the mutual respect. Great job at the Bermuda to both Bryans!
May sound idiotic but I have struggled with a pull and pull hook for the better part of 5 years. Taking this to the courst and pushing my right hip back completely changed my ball flight. not to mention my contact as you might imagine. Really looking forward to some long range sessions with this.
I Gained so much respect for Wesley taking lessons from Grant. Thats huge when a professional golfer that is a tour winner can put his ego aside to learn from someone that might not be on Tour, but definitely knows the golf swing
Dude...Grant and Wes's chemistry is dynamite. Grant may have had a rough match in a 2v2v2 recently with Wes, but that doesn't mean he isn't a high quality teacher and one stick of a golfer. It would be a dream to get a personal lesson all the way up here in Michigan! LOVE THE CONTENT!
Great lesson. Wish there was a shot tracer to watch his ball flight though. Glad to see the Bryan bros play well in the Bermuda tournament. Year of the beast!
This speaks so much to Grants ability of a teacher. Wes is playing some excellent golf he’s good enough to make it to Burmuda but trusts Grant and his teaching to do this at a very key point in his calendar. Very cool
I have been watching Bryan Bros for a long time. This is one of my favorite videos! Great job beating George on pga tour. He made you work for it Wesley!
Well done Grant! I am sure there will be a lot of teaching pro's that would be very upset that Grant, without any teaching qualifications, is giving out lessons. But the fact that Wesley trusts him to critique him and offer guidance speaks volumes. The proof is in the pudding too, Wes was striping those shots! Grant is not just your buddy who can have a look at your swing, he understands the golf swing to an elite level and doesn't need any qualifications to back that up. More power to you Grant. I'd love you to take a look at mine!!
Great lesson. It's crazy to hear Wes say “all my golf swings feel weird.” I'd always imagine good players just feel perfect. Golf is such a difficult game.
This shows how much respect Grant gets out there. Even the Foreplay golf guys were as nervous as playing PGA pros when he played with them. If Trent plays under 90 after Grant's lesson, this will be good for the program
Great advice. Maybe a little more conection in the backswing, keeping hands in front of the body in the takeaway and stoping arms and hip rotation at the same time at the top, but im loving the new structure. Now its time to rotate more in the downswing, there's no need to pull arms down or back it up now. He is a little too much inside and flipping the club face
Steepness kills everything in the golf swing. Great explanation of the problem and the solution. Westley's so much more on plane. The sound of the ball off the driver changed big time.
It's clear that Grant is not only a very good player, but a student of the game that wants to understand the dynamics of what is going on. That natural coaching style clearly comes from a deep interest in the mechanics of the swing, not just wanting to pound balls.
Great video. I noticed Wes’s swing looked like his arms ran on too far at the top, I wanted to say shorten up that swing to rein in that arm run off. Most likely it crept into his swing because of the shoulder injury. Nice work fellas.
Great instruction Grant. What's your thought on, for right handed golfers, turning your right foot out about 15 degrees at address? Just recently over came a back injury and my instructor helped me with this to aid me in getting to my right hip. For golfers like Wesley who may have lost some rotational flexibility this may be something very easy to help get a deeper turn. Great job! Cheers my friend.
Grant! great vid! please do some chipping lessons! Different lies, different types of chips (high, low etc..), your setup, thought process, etc.. I am in dire need :(
Awesome content, the driver is really the only club in my bag, that with all my lessons I just cannot even get close to being good with, my handicap is 8, but I know I could get lower if I could work the driver 👍👍👍
24 birdies in the Bermuda tournament in 4 rounds for Wesley. 27 birdies for the winner. 25 birdies for the second place. Just a great performance over all! We should see Wesley back at the top soon!
I appreciate that Wesley understands that Grant can help him, and it doesn't mean that Grant is a better golfer than Wesley. The pros would beat all the people that coach their swing, but they know they can help them with their eyes and knowledge.
Grant's future is as an instructor. In my view, that's why he went out on his own. He's his own brand and the future likely will be instruction and commentary.
Can you do a video on the downswing. Everyone explains it differently. Should the left hip pull the club down? Should the left hip just pull back in the downswing? Are the arms just passive and along for the ride? Thanks Grant.
Interesting to hear the conversation these two have and I especially listen to what Wesley said about an shoulder injury and this according to my profession (I work as reg. Specialistnurse) and such important to focus also on these perspective ⛳️😃👍👌✅🦾🍇
Grant this is exactly what I’m working on having more depth in my hip turn, trying to get the club more on the inside which is difficult for me to get right lol😅 just wondering any tips as to why I’m hitting a lot of thin shots when doing this? I’m guessing it’s a weight shift issue possibly? Thanks
Is a feel that helps with width/shallow on the back to keep your trail elbow tight/ on your shirt seam and pointing down vs flaring out? I find it helps to keep my trail wrist soft and a bit more laid off vs shaft being very upright.
