This album is awesome. One of the albums I listened to a lot as a preteen and as a teenager. The connection you have with this album is the same relationship that I have with the wall by Pink Floyd. I love how music can make people feel and think in a completely different way, sometimes even saving people from their own lives. I hope all is well with you now! Peace and love from NY! ❤

Thanks for watching, I'd love to know what The Wall felt like to you at the time and what it feels like now? It's one of those albums that took me a while to get it into. I find it interesting that it's also a rock opera

@@SnackersPrime For me, it felt the same watching it for the first time in 2012 as it does today. World hasn't changed enough

@@SnackersPrime the wall for me marked a huge change in my life and the loss of my childhood innocence, I had just lost my grandfather and already grew up without my mom alive or dad around, so I fell in love with the wall when I discovered it. The wall really spoke to me then and it still does today. I’ve been through serious bouts of depression and I’ve spent a lot of time staring at the tv in my bedroom like a zombie while reminiscing about my younger days. Much like with Jesus of suburbia, the main character had a very similar life to mine and I began to act just like both characters, very angry and taking it out on everyone around me. It took me a long time to realize the wall is a warning and not an instruction manual. I personally love rock operas, especially as an ex-theatre kid and current musician. The story and the music work so well together on albums like American idiot or the wall or the who’s Tommy. And that’s why I think they resonate with me so much, the story is relatable on an emotional level, while still being out there and interesting enough to warrant being told

You made me cry! Thank you for sharing your experience. This album meant so much to me and changed my life too when it came out. I was transported back to a lot of those memories. I never comment on RU-vid but I had to let you know how much I loved this.

I'm 18 years old, so I wasn't alive when American Idiot cam out. But this album and Green Day as a whole is about the most important thing in my life. I feel lucky to still be alive to share my love for the band with everyone else and see them live (which I got to do last night!) This video is awesome and I love seeing videos like this because again, its all about sharing our love for music.

I heard American Idiot when it came out. I was just starting High School. 14 years old. I bought it at Zellers. It changed my life and this video is not something I just relate to but it reminds me of a what a thought about this album for the 10th anniversary, that Billie Joe Armstrong took on the role of Pop Punk Preacher and baptized a generation of people who feel different for whatever reason. 20 years later this album is just as cathartic as it was when I was a teenager. When they performed on MTV VMA's in 2005 they played Boulevard of Broken Dreams I taped it on VHS and watched it every time along with the Bullet in the Bible DVD.

That's very beautifully put! I also watched that DVD so many times and it was surreal revisiting it all these years later. Zellers also brings back a younger time period to me lol

Biggest politically oriented punk rock album ever. About that time GD was the biggest band on the planet The bridge (middle eight) of Letterbomb is a peak of album, maybe like was Dookie Basket Case or Insomniac Bab's Uvula Who
