I miss Flick-ball...
Here is what Hansi Flick HAS ALREADY DONE with Barcelona! The Cules MISS their team's play style and are looking forward to more games!
The Catalans have been recently dubbed BAYERNLONA and in this video, we will show and tell you why the new project of the German top manager can take the whole football world by storm!

The first change that experts notice in the context of Barça Flick lies in the team’s MENTALITY. In particular, here's what the legendary Arsene Wenger said lately: “When Barcelona scored the seventh goal, I saw Flick telling Lamine to push forward more to score the eighth. This man has turned Barcelona into a different team in just one month.”
A strong statement, isn't it? If a multiple Premier League champion says this, then it's worth listening to. Nevertheless, 4 wins in 4 opening La Liga rounds speak more volumes than any existing words. By the way, Hansi Flick is likely to become the Coach of the Month in the Spanish league right away - it's impossible to imagine a more perfect start!
What the team’s new mentality is about? Work from the first minute until the end of the match. At his recent press conference, Joan Laporta shared his experience of communicating with the head coach: “When we played against City in pre-season and won, I asked Flick if he was happy with what he saw, he said 'no' because the players had only pressed until the 70th minute,” the president said.
“Hansi Flick has a winning mentality, we are very happy and proud of the squad. We see that La Masia is the core of our project,” added the happy official.
“He is a man who does not look for excuses and makes do with what he has. Flick wants what we want,” Laporta praises the Catalans’ new manager.
One could clearly see that the president is VERY satisfied with Flick's work. The same can be said for players, who are already being asked to compare their past and present boss:
”What's the difference between Xavi and Flick?” the journalist asked Raphinha.
It's natural for changes to occur in the team when the coach and the coaching staff change. Everyone has their own way of thinking and playing. Xavi had a specific approach. In the first season, we performed very well, winning two trophies, and we enjoyed it a lot, but in the second season, we made several mistakes. Now Flick has a different way of thinking. It's not about quality, but people have different visions and ways of thinking, and that's normal. We now have the same team, and the quality is there, but sometimes the season doesn't go as it should, and there's no explanation for that,” said one of the modern Barça leaders.
As can be understood from Rapha's words, the team's philosophy has COMPLETELY changed. To understand WHAT EXACTLY has changed, we need to remember what Flick said before the season, when he described the game of HIS Barcelona:
“I am not far away from the idea Barça played before when they had this unbelievable success with Johan Cruyff or Pep Guardiola. It is the same concept of attacking football. I want the team to make the fans happy and give 200% on the pitch”.
Flick's quote after winning the El Clasico in early August was quite telling: “I'm not satisfied since we didn't press the whole game!”. It was then that the cules first saw what HANSI FLICK's MENTALITY was and how he created his TERRIFIC BAYERN, which destroyed everyone in the 2019/20 campaign!
It's not for nothing that this Barça are compared to that Bayern, because you can easily find many similarities between them:
Both Neuer and Ter Stegen are superb on the line and with his feet;
the defensive lines are also pretty similar - Barça have flying wings in Kounde and Balde, who constantly support attacking attempts - just like Kimmich and Alphonso Davies did; for centre-back positions, Flick prefers those defenders-excellent passers, who can cut through opposing lines - Bayern had the right-footed Boateng and left-footed Alaba - well, Barça have the same package - right-footed Cubarsi and left-footed Inigo.
Moving on to the midfield, where Bayern also used a double pivot approach, with Thiago and Goretzka as the controller and holding midfielder, who was constantly involved in attacks; in the Catalans’ case, Pedri is the one still playing the role of controller and holding midfielder. Next to him will play Casado, who is very similar in function to Kimmich. Moreover, later on, Frenkie de Jong will take the place in the midfield, and Gavi should emerge as another exciting option; under the striker, Flick considers Dani Olmo - a kind of Thomas Muller reincarnation - they even share a similar function, constantly looking for spaces and sharpen the game in the final third; on the wings, Gnabry and Coman are now “replaced” by Lamine Yamal and Raphinha - no less, if not more gifted performers; and at the spearhead of attack, what then, what now - the eternal Robert Lewandowski!
