1:50 For players without the Sentinal outfit, you can use a Superior Locator, which created with 81 divination & recharged with Brilliant Energy. It allows you to teleport to a ton of different resources, including Elder trees, with the exception being that it doesn’t allow you to choose the destination and will occasionally teleport you back to trees that are still depleting. You generally won’t ever have more than 3 depleted at a time, though, so this isn’t too much of a concern.

woodcutting grove lost its luster after an hour, seems really boring and not a fan of competing for resources. Woodcutting needed a rework, but this seems in the wrong direction.

Small feedback: consider putting important images like tables and such on the top side of the video instead of bottom side. Bottom side is used for subtitles for people that prefer that

I think its worth mentioning superior locator will get you to elder tree locations (low cost charges) with a relatively fast interact/tele time :)

If you've got a Locator it'll also tele you directly to Elders... Only like 40-60 Div needed for creating it. And charges teles with Brilliant Energy

Difference with imcando vs crystal hatchet would be great

Can confirm I also received lower rates at golden bamboo after the update, with the new hatchet, than i did before the update. Elders were pretty comparable to the current rates with golden bamboo. Didn't consider testing trees with crystalize as bamboo with my setup was previously better than crystalize acadias. May go back and test those myself. (The setup I use has all of the best items available to irons other than skillchompas)

@protoxxgaming important to also include Bik woodcutting. This got a massive xp rate buff it seems. I’m getting average 150k xp per hour (with 29% as you mentioned) AND about 4m/hr in bik troves.

Woodcutting was the first 99 I ever attempted way back in 2008. I gave up shortly after reaching 91 because I was so fucking sick of cutting Maples, Teaks, and Mahoganies for so goddamn long.

This past Week i’ve been focusing on grinding out as much woodcutting as I possibly can with a specific focus of grinding out the Imcando Hatchet without sparing any expense. Fyrtorch is without a doubt worth every penny it costs. Things can get pretty nutty when you throw fyrtorch in the mix with brawling gloves, honed6, Furnace4, Bonus XP and other benefits. I started at 80 Woodcutting and i’am now up to 86 with 3/4 Imcando pieces; It is indeed a very slow skill to train compared to most if not every other skill in the game and I slightly regret not investing more lamps into woodcutting throughoht my playtime instead of basically getting 99 Archaeology without completeing a single mystery 😂. Okay, I actually only got to 92 before i decided to work on archaeology directly so it wasnt entirely neglected and lamped lol.

The idea behind success chance benefits such as honed 6, Sanna’s Fyrtorch, Lumberjack Aura’s and Anachronia Overgrown Idols Buff towards trees with base 90% success compared to ones with 60% beinng more impactful and therefore more useful is exactly the same concept as to why the Equilibrium Perk isn’t nearly as impactful or beneficial to Necromancy as it is to Ranged, Magic and Melee. The whole concept essentially comes down to devoting resources towards a problem that never existed in the first place - If you’re always succesful, don’t continue investing into success, look for other benefits like increased XP gains such as Furnace4, Skillchompas, Ect. Of course players like myself will always insist on Min/Maxing to be as efficient as possible when it likely would have been more advantageous to use all the time spent unlocking buffs which amounted to maybe +1.75% XP/HR and had just grinded and gotten experience instead. It does make sense to min/max efficiency before going for very long term goals like 200M XP, but 99.995% of players are better off getting a few of the more impactful perks and benefits and start grinding.

The grove became dead so fast and as for xp it’s still so so slow

some info about cryst mahogany with the new hatchet and the different boosts avilable for irons. (95 wc) its around 340-360k xp/h without urns. with urns i think its close to 400k xp/h but not entierly sure because i run out of them. this is with honed 5 t80 hatched, beaver, legendary lumberjack aura sentinel aura and the torch.

How do crystal skillchompas affect this?

If you do crystalize magic trees on cwrys hour with the new imcando hatchet and other boosts you can get some crazy exp rate.

I don't think you get extra exp on crystal trees from the furnace perk either, I might be wrong though. If that's the case, crystal trees are simply worthless since furnace gives 20% more exp (22% with lvl 20 hatchet)

Besides being quicker and not having your inventory fill up it hasn’t changed too much

What about the xp from ivy?

I hoped they made woodcutting a 120 skill, suprised they did not , cause that would make room to make tree gaps better.

So, wc is the only gathering skill that lower level stuff, gives more xp/h than others. Also, shouldn't the crystal tree the best xp/h? That thing is at 94 wc, and it baffles me that a simple spell can outright put it in the bin.

Here are some of my personal xp rates with fyrtorch, legendary aura, perfect juju, honed 6, beaver, nature's sentinel, and urns with enhancer. pre rework: crystallise acadia - ~410k golden bamboo with contracts - 400k post rework: golden bamboo with contracts - 360k crystallise magic - 390k crystallise yew - 390k crystallise maple - 400k crystallise arctic pine - 410k crystallise mahogany - 425k

I've tested golden bamboo with the imcando hatchet. I got around 107k/hour without any buffs, 220k/hour with buffs. Not too bad, tbh. And a lot cheaper than crystallise😅

Small nit pick. Why are we testing XP rates without the new BIS hatchet? it may make minimal difference at trees with 100% chop chance, but at elders etc it should increase XP/H

I just want a rebalancing of fletching now and for them to add arrows/bolts to the current metals beyond rune. These qol updates are too slow.

Golden Bamboo needs to absolutely be cut with skillchompas in your inventory. They are a massive xp boost specifically for Bamboo because how high the base xp per log is. Crystallize Acadias were NOT the best woodcutting xp in the game previously, Golden Bamboo with skillchompas was.

I have a idea for Jagex. What if the made a protean tree you can use to train woodcutting. You click on it and a protean tree automatically spawns in front of you so you can never leave the ge again lol.
