HOW HAVE I MISSED THIS? "Start over" survival, might be the best survival game i played this year. 

Honestly, you should play the island map. it's smaller and more compact. It has better and more fun POIs too. You could set up a base and use the river for fishing and defense, and sell goods to the southern town. But if you stay here: The "shelter" is your sleeping bag. Once you lay it, the shelter will be considered complete. In fact wherever you lay your sleeping bag is where you will be attacked. There are two types of oil, "organic" and regular. Regular oil comes from oil shale that has been smelted in the furnace. YOU HAVE A HORSE! Check the top of the screen compass and go get him! Military guys raid you, but only if your sleeping bag is down. They attack from all sides, and in waves. Just lift up your sleeping bag to stop the attack timer. THE ENEMY LEVEL GOES UP BASED ON THE TIER OF YOUR WORKBENCH. Don't move up too fast! Defeat a couple tier 1 waves first. Consider a flat roof, which is easier to shoot from. Get guns, ammo and land mines - a lot! FYI You can't get blown up by your own land mines, which is so awesome. Fish traps are a great income source. You should set the max of 10. NPCs show up to your base randomly. some are friendly but some talk shit and try to beat you up! I also suggest: Use the icepick and hatchet and keep them in your vest Use the pump shotgun for close range / Sniper for long range (I only sell pistols) AR also great for hunting - three quick shots on the bison. Use spike barriers to keep enemy back from your base. The Bitcoin mercenaries are awesome to post on roofs or high outside ledges. Landmines are the #1 best defense against attacks. Cant wait to watch you play this fun game! (But consider the other map!)

Some more random tips: ctrl+click auto moves an item. Many items start out pointed away from you and need to be rotated around before you set them. You only get wood planks back from the hammer. Stone is destroyed. Landmines can only be set once, never moved. Plants and resources respawn. You can't burn food and it doesnt spoil. You can't get hurt from any hight of fall. Loot repsawns on a restart. Dead bodies can't set off land mines. The fish traps auto -stack. Mercenaries will wander off - watch them. Better yet keep then on a roof. Land mines dont blow up NPCs - not even hostle ones. Only fresh water can be drank and fished. You can flip an ATV and lose it for good. An ATV underwater is lost forever, along with its cargo. Careful! Set your sleeping bag down in the morning with a few minutes untl an atack for the best visibility during battles. The AP mines bow out TOWARD the enemy. All animals set off land mines. Good luck!

I played this 6 months ago and loved it! I'm glad to see they're still updating. Time to give it another go.

I read the comments on the Steam page and I'm curious about the raids based on the comments. I'll be watching to see how that goes before getting this one. Most of the negatives were that the raids were insane (as in the attackers were way better equipped than you are) and that the map is mostly empty. Let's hope they have balanced and fixed some things since those comments. We shall see, lol
