Berel Solomon has been a professional salesperson for 15 years and has built 7-figure companies.
When Berel was 18 years old he started his first business, More To Life Entertainment, which brought celebrities to nightclubs in Montreal. When he was 21 years old he became more observant of his Jewish roots and stepped away from the nightclub business. Berel went to go work for his father in their family business of Metal Recycling. He helped grow the business from $7 Million in sales to $40 Million in 7 years, before venturing out into businesses of his own.
Berel is the producer of the documentary “Orthodoxed”, which chronicles his journey from a drug dealer and prince of the nightclub business to becoming a Lubavitcher chassid. He is well known for his philanthropy and social media presence, and resides in Montreal with his family.

This reminds me of the prodigal son coming home. And the older brother who remained faithful whose inner work was letting go of his religious status, to embrace and celebrate his lost brother had come Home, while battling jealousy and feelings of being over -looked. This interview was refreshing. Thank-you! Shalom

Wow, truly amazing interview! So can relate to Berel Solomon. Loved the question Nachi asked wether Momo preferred growing up non religious vs frum from birth. Makes me think of this often. Thank you guys for your amazing work. And thank you Berel for the inspiration! Keep it up and going! ;)

You guys are amazing interviewers, such positive energy and you are both so in tune with eachother! I missed the episode where you talk about how M.P. got started... Totally relate to what Berel says on humility, you have to shed EVERYTHING, the way of behaving, thinking, walking from waking to going to sleep, it's amazing...

I'm not sure if you guys know. With "Premieres," even having notifications ON, the video doesn't get shared in said notifications. It's still amazing to watch, regardless, even if it's four hours later rather than right on release.

Shalom aleichem :🙂My paternal great grandfather was Ashkenazi and my other great grandparents were Christians (although I don't know to what extent they practiced). I was raised in a secular home, studied a bit with Jehovah's witnesses, but chose Islam as my way of life in my mid 20's. I really enjoyed this discussion because I love to see the parallels between my faith and that of other Abrahamic religions. Without giving them away, the parts that spoke most to me were at 37:00 a real life reminder to be tolerant and patient, 39:20 an essential means of having meaningful relationships, and 57:57 the people who really need our respect and empathy.

Yes, Momo, some people are listening. I just listened to your podcast with Berel Solomon, and found it very interesting, and since he kept quoting the Rebbe, I might add a comment as well. The Rebbe always Said that a Baal teshuvah Is on a higher level than a tzaddik. Because a BT chose to be observant and had to fight to get there, whereas a righteous person never had the struggle, but was always in the right direction.

Every person who comes to Yiddishkeit from growing up lacking in a Jewish education; they are not "Baalei T'shuva." They are "tinoks sh'nishbu." Children who were captured. "Baalei T'shuva" is knowing what you were supposed to be doing and not doing so, changing to one who is doing what you are supposed to be doing. My Rebbe ztz"l never used the term "Baal T'shuva," to describe a person who came to yiddishkeit having never had a Jewish educaiton.

Note: Rabbi Yochanan didn't have a beard, so he looked kind of like his sister, whom looked even better than him. Bava Metzia daf .פד I think his beard just didn't grow. I think further, it was uncommon to be beardless, so Reish Lokish got confused. Side note. The Gemara before lists a list of beautiful men but does not mention Rabbi Yochanan. This is because he did not have a "beauty of countenance" a beard.
