The middle path is kinda like tacs, it needs support to keep bloons in its range. In fact, they all do, if he allowed himself glue and ice towers he could probably go way, way further. Probably breaking 200. Also, the limit he set in himself with only 3 beasts is what made him weak to ddt, just spamming orcas vs that would make him nearly unkillable.
Great White, Orca, and Megalodon all seem to have their own "instakill damage cap" where if a bloon has too much hp, it can't be instakilled, just latched onto. Megalodon's cap is reached on round 150 BADs, while Great White's is reached on any MOAB.
When you use the bottom path you have to spread the other beast handlers around that map so that when they merge with one that one will have the range of all the beast handlers. This allows it to bring balloons from anywhere in the range of any of the beast handlers to any point inside of any of the beast handlers range.
He explained in the video exactly why he didn’t want to do that. He only wanted the condor to cover the top right to avoid it chasing DDTs around the entire map once they get really fast
I think that the Water towers are 'overtuned' because they're so limited in where you can put them. Aside from a few maps, there's only very specific places you can put water towers.
The bottom and middle path will probably be used the most in the future due to their utility while the top path is probably gonna be seen mostly in late game
I think you have to remember when comparing it to other towers is that it isn't just 3 tier fives vs waves. technically , its still three tier fives and at least nine other tier fours, along with whatever else you use to maxed out the beast power. puts it into perspective if you think about what other towers could get too if they had they had those kinda numbers.
I think placing the beast handlers all around the map, specifically with the middle path and bottom path, is really helpful. With the middle path, since you can place the dinosaur in any of the merged tower's ranges, it can be very good for microing. And with the bottom path, where you place the birds icon is where it'll bring the bloons it picks up back to so if it can access more of the track then it can bring bloons from farther away all the way back to that point.
The middle path gets extra damage at T4 and up to stunned bloons, so anything that stuns like top path cannon or bottom path glue and buffs make it do way more dmg than the shark over time.
Bottom path is actually really good. can stall a huge number of MOABs near indefinitely, in a specific spot where you can put another DPS tower like a tack zone to tag team them and cause absolute carnage
You should try and spread out your bottom path beast handler supporters, because the bird uses all of their range combined so if the supporting beast handlers are placed correctly the bird has full map range.
yup, this has been my strat, birb for literally saving my ass, mega for bads, giga for full map stun and ddt shredding since as for me it can shred the ddts faster than the mega can pull them
Please try this just to see how broken they really are. PoD and Orca 2TC. I was able to buy it by round 65 with basically no difficulty up until then and then it carried me until the 90s when I had to start doing a bit of micro. It's really broken and I'd love if you could showcase it.
Something to note is that the marker placement here for the bird is pretty much minimum dps, maximum utility. If you want to maximize bird pop count, you need to place the marker as far towards the back of the track as possible so it never tries to drag back the bloons, and is always hitting bloons according to your targeting. The bird can do a lot more damage than shown here, and I think it should do more total damage than the Giganotosaurus by virtue of its longer range. That being said, the Giganotosaurus could also probably do more damage if the bird was constantly pulling the bloons within its range
I gotta say, I love the birb. First time I was using the beast handler I went for it cause it was cheapest, but now, picking up balloons and Moab’s has been crazy op for me in my runs. I want to say it’s best tower at CC, better than glue and ice 5th tiers
My main gripe with the Beast Handler is that they all look the same, making it very hard to find the ones I need in game. All the other towers are generally pretty visually distinct based on their upgrade path. But I can't tell the paths apart visually for the Beast Handler. 🤣
@@THGMR-ox7sd it works, but it has a very small click area for the player to do it, and in late game you are gonna just be clickng all other towers while trying to click the bird, until you get lucky or decide clicking every single one of the beast handlers
The bottom path birds sometimes fly in weird places because the merged beast handlers give it range and you actually can target the bird so he places down the bloons outside the range of the main beast handler and inside of the range of the support handlers. That's why they fly outside of the beast handlers range. In conclusion, place your support handlers close to the entrance You can actually see exactly where your bird can fly if you click on the handler that is having others merged into him. You can also spread out your support handlers to gain full map range
I don't know if they are meta, but boy are they fun. I like watching Megas drag the first B.A.D straight down and BIG BIRD moving the entire bloon line back to the start
I've been trying a lot on chimps with sauda and my thoughts are: T3 bird is really good at bloon popping power. t4 bird seems to be worse. Imo, have t3 bird vs bloons and t3 shark vs moabs. T3 shark is worth the money but can get overwhelmed. Orca good but might not be better than more t3 sharks. T5 shark is OP but is hard to get in chimps/might not be realistically possible. T4 dino ability is pretty great so having 3 of those in the same spot can perma stun all bloons in a large area. I need to test more.
Top path is strong by virtue of moab class bloons being a problem. For dozens of rounds the megalodon one shots bads and all the bloons inside, and any bloons that end up beneath him, leading to a lot of pops. But against a lot of regular bloons he starts to fall off. Great for single targets not great for lots of targets. The middle path is good aoe damage. Dealing a ton to bloons in range of his jaws. He can do a lot of damage to densely packed moabs but not necessarily to any one moab. If there were more ceramic rounds in freeplay, he would probably outperform the megalodon. The bottom path honestly seems like it's just for repositioning bloons. Maybe would be really good on multilane maps, but I dunno.
Bottom path is good for stacking bloons so top and middle path can hit all the bloons or other high pierce things can clean up, and to catch thongs that usually would be leaking forcing you to change targetting
I assume the word you are looking for is paragon lol Also i'd assume they should add something to make crosspaths actually interact with your tower instead of just adding another dino and that's it, at the least allow other paths to see camo if you cpath with xx2
@@Gold_hoarder you said beast handler paradox, i was just in a way making a joke, but yeah, the t6 towers are paragons, e.g. ninja paragon, boomerang paragon, plane paragon ettc.
You can ultraboost the beasts and they also work with homeland defense, I think. Might want to retry with those buffs in place. I suspect they could go a lot further
a strong point of the bird route is that it doesn't have fixed range, scatter your beast handler throughout the map and the bird attack wherever the merged beast handler reach
Chris if you look at the top of the wikipedia articles for thungs it usually has a pronunciation guide (IPA and sometimes respelled as it is pronounced) Giganotosaurus GIG a NOH ta saurus, pronounce the a like in comma. But people misspronounce things all the time just call it what your comfy with and I'll still enjoy the videos
I still think you can optimize by using the towers that you max out. They are never upgraded for a second path. It might be a 052 but you can merge the lower path to the 005
@@sooyster4033 it cant increase the power of course, but you can have little supports, for fast bloon stalling (as the top and middle path dont work greatly until 3)
Greatest accident I made... I maxed out the Orca to a Megalodon on my first experience with the Beast Handler, and didn't notice how tough the Orcas were until I saw the Megalodon jump a very good distance to eat a B.A.D.... Meaning, I DIDN'T NEED THE MEGALODON FOR AT LEAST 20 WHOLE ROUNDS!!!.... BUT I am in love... Orcas and Megalodon's are monsters!!!! Maybe I'm too old but I see no point in pronouncing the middle Rex as "Giga"... linguistically it doesn't even make sense to even start out pronouncing it that way... makes me wonder about reading comprehension nowadays, but, hey, I did take linguistics in college so maybe I'm overthinking... lol...
if you wanna call the Giganotosaurus a "Giganot" then by all means.... either way the Gigantosaurus is still a different dinosaur, so saying "Giganto" would be referring to something that isnt in this game lol
I have noticed that the bird gets real confused on maps where entrances are also exits. Specifically the new map. The bird can and will take bloons UP the track rather than down in some cases.
The condor should've dropped the moabs a little further allong that horizontal path between your damage dealers. Bringing them back so much slows down the grabs and reduces the damage potential of the t-rex
Its hard to see a difference but bittom tier glue gunner helps the megladon out quite a bit, the glue may not slow down the moabs a lot but the megalon drags the moabs to the "center" of its circle and you can out the circle half in and half out of the water so one half on the track and the megladon doesnt have to go as far and with the glue gunner surprisingky can make all the difference in some situations
Not gonna lie. Tier 1 beast handlers are utterly pointless for me. Tier 2 is the minimum I will start with. Other than that, I'll spam down 5 or 10 base beast handlers to start. They work just fine if not way better
I do agree with keeping megalodon on strong but, if you were to put him on far he would flop on all the balloons in his path for the maximum amount of time which would be good for balloon rounds.
Imo, the middle path beast is (unbiased) seriously underrated and should be used more. I was able to get to 150 with supports and buffs and farms (I also used Benjamin and played on hard.)
Im curious, would the perma berserk brew increase the dmg of the beast for each merged monkey or only on the main handler. if its an increase for each monkey that has it, that would be quite the powerfull beast.
I think people say 'Giga' with the hard 'G' because the origin of Giant, Gigantic, and all those words, is the Greek word 'Gigas', which is pronounced with the hard 'G' (I'm actually unaware off the top of my head if there are any soft 'g' pronunciations in Greek.) I believe the first discovery was made by British scientists, and almost all English-language scientific nomenclature respects the hard 'G', which sounds like a much more gangsta sentence than it is. However, conversationally, pronouncing it 'Jigantosaurus' is perfectly fine, it's still going to be understood by anyone, so it's one of those things where insisting on the hard 'G' is correct but unnecessarily pedantic. I'll be honest, so far Beast Handler feels borderline broken with how much it offers for the price. It's an expensive tower, but it can do tens of thousands of damage per second to single targets, which very, very few towers in the game can do. All with a pretty reasonable power curve through it's lower tiers, and by the time you get to tier 3, I felt like I was doing much better than with the vast majority of towers. It has weaknesses, but this is a rare case where it feels like it's strengths are so outstanding that they can cover the weaknesses through collateral, especially the orca; it's a tower you actually want chasing bloons because it does massive damage as it drags them back. That being said, BH also feels like a tower that's powerful but complicated to use. Although I'm really not fond of micro in this game, it feels healthy for this tower. So I don't actually mind it being kind of broken. Also it has the same interaction that Pirate Lord has. Instakilling MOAB's with the Orca tree while they have Rubber-To-Gold on them gives you triple gold.
the problem isnt the hard or soft "g" lmao, Giganotosaurus should not be confused with Gigantosaurus, if you wanted to pronounce it as Jiganotosaurus that would at least be more accurate to the dinosaur its referring to...
Just wanted to say you’re defo correct with the pronunciation. It’s literally gigantic in the name but after being an ark player for so long people just called it giga lol (gig-a instead of ji-ga) Edit: no matter what way you say it people are gonna know what you’re an about tbf so it doesn’t really matter that much
I went 2mp with birb path on cubism, was able to get all the pops with 1 of them (of course, you need others to get his tier 5). So, get ready for all the paths to be nerved
The bottom path is open because if you put all 6 of the bird fusions where you want him to go you can go every where on the map also he always has camo
I could be wrong but I saw somewhere that orca gives u less money per pop. I always try and throw him a little further back if I feel the trex can deal with the moabs
I think if you set the condor to strong instead of first or even close it might solve the problem of endless chasing the DDTs. Also he is always overshadowed by other towers since the orca instakills moabs and T-Rex deletes all that passes, leaving barely pink Bloons for the condor to pick up. I think the bird is supposed to be at the end of the track and only focus on close, meaning he will only attack what passes and you can push it back to the orca where it gets deleted again.
@@Fluid-combo typed it in the middle of the video and also he didn't do exactly that and also people still tend to say condor is useless which he isn't. But yeah you right.
@@valimaa1006 he literally talked about changing his bird to strong if he started getting overwhelmed, he then got overwhelmed, then literally put his bird on stronge. He did exactly that.
place the beast handlers you merge into pouakai with around the entire map, the bird will be able to fly anywhere along the track where the merged handlers are
You need to spread out the beast handlers for the birds, the merge ability is also their flying area, so you only had about half the map covered for where the bird could fly
The actual pronunciation of giganotosaurus ( I looked it up ) is gi as in gills, ga as in gas, no as in not, to as in toe, sau as in saw and rus as in rust. Edit: so the nickname of giga is okay.
All the people saying "call it a Giga" are probably Ark players. Gigantosaurus is shortened to 'giga' in the game and people have applied that forward to the full name. Edit: Also, apparently, there are TWO gigas. Gigantosaurus, a somewhat controversial genus of Sauropods. Giganotosaurus, a genus of theropods. The dino that's in BTD is of the Gigano- varieyt, which is correctly pronounced 'gig-a-no' rather than 'gi-gan'
The bird is not glitching, they all have an "effective range", ala the longer range of all beast handlers supporting it. The dino and fish can only be placed in the effective range, as they ahve their own range, however the bird can attack all bloons within the effective range. The more spread out the beast handlers merged into it are, the more of the map the bird will chase.
I think that the middle path might be the best even though it doesn’t have the most pops in what I’ve done the middle path gets the furthest with village second goes to the bottom path and third goes to top but I do feel like with other assisting towers the megalodon might be the most use because it’s basically like a cheaper buccaneer paragon
If you want to merge beast handlers you can save so much money by only merging using t1 beasts instead of merging using higher tiers. Sure it takes up a lot of space but when you don't want to go late game it is worth spending the time to spam t1 beast handlers. But if you don't want to spam 48 t1 beast handlers then you can go for higher tiers but I recommend that you never go to t4 unless you want to save as much space as possible
The water path is the strongest in my opinion Getting the max megaledon and alot of 3rd tier sharks is stong maybe a little too strong so its gonna be nerfed into the ground soon
Probbly true, well middle path excels at pierce and pretty much moab and ceramic spam, as well as ddts, top path focuses on dmg, as well as oneshotting strongest bloons, and bottom path is op at stalling anything below bad, but requires something to kill what it stalls or it runs out of pierce But i do believe that they are both balanced and imbalanced each in their own way,.they def are balanced among each other, but ig it's just way more satisfying to see sthing instakill fbad or just shred strong bloons
I disagree, if anything I think that it’s too unbalanced. The top paths tier 3 deals too much damage for its price, the middle path is just too weak for fortified cerams and moabs (literally it’s job to take them out), and the bottoms paths tier 5 can basically stall and solo a whole round at the entrance (it rarely tends to leak a few bloons though) for an affordable price (the save up can be annoying but it’s literally an instant win once you get it).
the bottom path is one of the best most cost effective support towers and is absolutely insane for freeplay (it can permastall up to zomg for only 30k) and sadly the middle path is the weakest even though i like it the most
@@Baldeep123 wait wdym, middle path seemed to have enough dmg at lategame rounds to oneshot fcerams and fmoabs, only issue being that it doesn't soak through layers not even with ability, and its pierce is insana as well But about other two paths i agree
@@edgarsapsitis6925 I just think that you have to sink too much money into middle path to make it viable. I also think it falls short late game because of 2 reasons, it’s attack speed being a bit too slow/aoe being too small, and it’s inability to one shot fortified cerams past round 80 even when maxed.
When you were talking about the pronunciation of the giga you were correct in assuming that’s not quite right. It comes from the spelling giganotosaurus. However it’s pronounced like Jiganotosaurus. Think like jig from jigsaw
It turns out that with buff, the middle path is by FAR the strongest since top path struggles with volume. The middle path can shred bads with attack speed.
