the rest are just dancing monkeys...it's so boring to watch i can't stand it any longer. this guy is great. i only wish he had a few episodes where we could see him in a competitive mode rather than always teaching hackers how to score better...i would love to see this guy play wesley bryan and brad dalke...for $100 a stroke!
@silvermediastudio facts, but if he sees this, just know you can dial it back a bit and be way fine. I'll continue to support, but this is the first vid I've ever turned off.
really want to thank you for your videos. Last 2 weeks I have shot 96/94 after really struggling to break 100. If it wasnt for 4 triples last week, I could have broke 90. Just watching your videos and changing my mentality has been amazing.
amigo, golf is all in the mind...not in the swing. look at lee trevino, calvin peete, and raymond floyd...what do they have in common? funny looking swings, and many professional tournament wins! hogan said that golf was 20% talent, and 80% management... that is why this guy is so good for the average golfer...he teaches everyone how to manage the game they have at the moment. from 95 to 85 isn't as far as it seems...just practice your mechanics separately from your scoring. When you're on a golf course, forget about your swing, and think about your 'shot'. concentrate on contact with the ball...watch it happen, and be amazed!
I’m getting older and lost some distance. I’ve tried to find more distance to no avail. I was becoming resentful of not being able to keep up with my playing partner distance wise. I’ve realized that attitude was reflecting on my game. I’m trying to let it go. This video hits the spot.
Also, get fitted for the right driver for you. I'm a 7.6 handicap and I'm in my 60s. I got fitted a few years ago for my Maverick driver. And it worked for a few years...tee shot distances starting dropping late last year even though I'm working out the same. Got fitted for a Paradym driver and added 30 yards by slowing down my swing effort and getting a regular shaft. I'm back to average tee shot of 245-260 yards and the smoothest swings can roll out to 280+. Game changer for me. And the old Maverick is still a great looking club but I can't work it anymore.
I stumbled on to you and watched several of your videos over the last week. Especially like the fact that you don’t spend time trying to teach me some new grip or tweak my swing. Instead, your focused advice on course management is absolutely tremendous. And very much appreciated. As a casual golfer for over two decades, I averaged roughly in the mid 120’s. This year I’ve committed to playing more and have finally made a meaningful improvement to around 108 - 111. Two days ago, I played my first round approaching the course as you suggested in one of your videos with only the mindset of managing each hole. I added one stroke to each hole in my mind, and broke down each hole into relatively safe shots with a plan for the next shot. No Hero Shots. I finished with my first ever 99. Then today, I backed that up with yet another 99. Thank you for breaking this game down into such a simple and easy to understand plan. I had a lot of fun the last two days.
From one saffa to another, your content is helpful and you’ve helped me plentsch. My golf has improved and you are a part of that. If you ever come down south at all we must play! Keep on keeping on brother 👊🏼
today I went to the course with the PLAYA mentality.. Ive been playing golf for 9 months.. (100+hdcp) I only played 9 holes and I shot a 38.. you help me so much.. its like I am playing a whole different game.. I never felt more secure about my shots.. thanks man! tomorrow I am playing 18.. Ill post the results here!
Yeah this guy has popped up on my feed a couple of times. Watched a little bit and each time I say to myself, this guy is great and relatable. Really great work. I must subscribe
Mr. Boom Boom, I have never not once purchased anything from a RU-vid link or because someone said it was great.... until now. I'm a walker and in my 50's and had hot spots after my last 9 holes.. Your detailed, illustrative, and continuous comments got me thinking. Your methods have helped me improve my game so hell, why not try those insoles and get to wear some 'statement' styled socks as well. I got both, used your code and link so I hope my small contribution helps you succeed and bring us all more amazing golf concept videos and highlight more products. Thank you for being a true friend of the sport! ..Oh yeah, totally stealing your quote "Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn".
Nice bro. Yeah this is the best product i have used in recent times. I tried them after seeing padraig harrington using them. Wasnt expecting much but damn i am impressed. Hope you enjoy them too. The socks are tricky to get on. They work slightly backwards but the TOP side says TOP. I was dubious. But dammmmnn i love it. Waddaplay
Currently watching you at half time of Lithuania (your country) vs Gibraltar (my country) - enjoying this more than the football as always! Wadaplaya...
You seem like a cool dude. I enjoy learning your course management tips, and I'm glad you're getting sponsored so you can continue making this content for us.
Great video. I am trying to become a better ball striker. I am trying to become more consistent at getting the ball in the air and creating effortless speed and not “forcing” my swing. It’s a work in progress. Love your content.
The knowledge you put out on regular basis is just phenomenal. As a golf addict who plays regularly, i could not agree more of what you’re describing and you give THE BEST tips that’s SO USEFUL AND HELPFUL. I mean from bottom of my heart i really appreciate you teaching me what you learned and continue to learn on the course. I feel like this is the only channel that i feel like is best for golfers by a real golfer. Thank you
After watching these videos consistently all year, I finally decided to adopt the way of the playa for a round. I haven't played in the past few years, and would average in the 45 range when I was playing consistently every week. This year I've struggled to break 50, and the time I attempted to play like a playa I shot 45 and 48!
These tips and videos have helped me so much. I shot a 90 for the first time ever, beating my previous best of 94! Next up, breaking 90! Any tips for keeping my thoughts quiet before a swing? I find I keep thinking about other things as I go to take my shots
Hey Matty just want to say thanks for all the great info. It took me years to finally practice this stuff because when I pay money to play, I want to play - not practice being safe hitting irons off the tee. I played about 3 rounds solely to practice what you preach and it was the best practice of my life and surprisingly fun. I was just playing out of the fairway hitting shots I like to hit. This stuff works too, I was having driver issues before I started and shot a 95 lol. 36 holes later my scores were 40 and 39.
Love the strategy session and thought process you provide. Keep those inserts and socks! And never get rid of that putter! You are a putting savant. Really enjoy your videos. Thanks
I always tell my buddies that socks and insoles are the most underrated parts of a golfers equipment. Now look who’s the smartest!! You should do a WITS (what’s in the shoes) for PGA Tour winners.
Great life advice! The Baus has been givimg out this advice and similar for 6 years or so! Ball in play Play shots you are confidence with Aim for Texas not ob / harzards Practise chipping and putting Enjoy the game Whaddaplaya!
Thanks Matt, I was tempted to get the insoles and socks, but with the discount code, it was a no-brainer. I'm hoping they help me avoid that ache in the feet after the end of the round. Cheers and here's to another great golf season.
“Expectations are planned resentments.” Is a piece of advice I was given for my relationship with my now wife. It’s done wonders for our marriage. … now to apply that logic to my golf game. lol.
If you don't warm up the first 4 holes are your driving range. When I warm up I hit a few 7 irons, a couple of hybrids, a 3 wood or two and 2 drives. Much like the first 4 holes on the course may look like.
Recently found you gone back and watched all your vods I hit 90 at the weekend week before 103 that’s incredible when my handicap is 26.5 put into context the par at my golf club is 73 6660 yards
Course management was the key for my massive improvement last year. I started the season in the high 90's. By late November, i finished the season with a personal best 81. I have every confidence i will be dipping into the 70s at some point in '24.
Could you please do a video for someone who played golf at a decent level years ago (single figure), but only plays infrequently nowadays? best way to approach it, etc I'm not so confidential anymore, and the memories of what i could do back in the day makes it quite frustrating...
Thanks for another great video Matty. My last round was a disaster from a course management perspective which is a shame because I felt like I was putting out of my mind. Definitely going to take some of these tips out next time I play and see what happens. Btw, I don't get soreness in my feet after golf, but I do struggle with plantar fasciitis flareups from time to time. Would those insoles help with that?
You could ask the guys there. I wouldn’t be able to tell you that. All i know is my foot pain and hot spots are gone and walking feels almost like a bionic help is propelling me forward. I can not overstate how good these things are
So let me ask, some of your videos you mentioned that you don't play for weeks on end but your swing is very consistent and you still get strong results. How do you achieve that? I feel like I don't practice for 2 days and I lose it on the golf course.
Played golf since 12 years old. And when i was 12-16 years old, i played a lot. And then played a lot more when i was 17-21 years old. Enough to make the muscles recall things easier
Welcome to the Turmeric train. Inflammatory arthritis (at age 34!) got me on it, but everyone should take it. Magnesium, B12, and fish oil too. Take care of your meat vehicle, Playas. I am loving this crazy video output lately! Cheers from the States.
Yesterday I shot an 80 at a different golf course but how the two half’s went really shows how my game is. First half I got a 44. Second half I got a 36 which is even par.
Can you add a little more on your shot shaping thinking and method. I'm starting to manipulate the ball but not knowing distance and the shot shape relationship
Best advice know your carry distance and be honest with yourself always thought i can carry my 7 iron around 175 but in reality it averaged 162 once i accepted this started playing much better!
It had to be the best of the best. I’ve seen guys genuinely in pain watching their carry distance actually be 15-20 yards shorter than what they thought. But after they reconciled it in their brain , they played WAAAAAY better
The more I think about hot to start a golf round, the more I compare it to starting a batting cricket innings. At the start play the shots you are confidential with, low risk, safe. Then once you are seeing the ball better, then move to your more risky shots and then only once you are in really in, do you unleash the Dilscoops, Ramps, Reverse sweep etc. Thanks for the video.
Great tips! Just one question, does “confidential” mean something else in South African English vs American English? I guess it could mean you have high confidence that someone wouldn’t share secret information, but I would normally just say “confident” in this context.
Thanks Matt. Made a comeback myself last week after hand surgery! Safe to say it wasn’t as impressive as yours and even more handicapped by the sodden UK turf (or mud) and wind. Saying that planning to stick religious to your mantra next time out 7 woos longest club. With a bit of much needed practice over the next couple of weeks sub 90 the sun next time out.
@@GolfSidekick yeah exactly that. Getting there. To be honest just happy to be there but aiming to full Golf Sidekick and get back to playing like I used to. Thanks for your help every video is a great aid to my ambitions.
Скоро начало сезона, пришло время играть меньше 90. Благодаря твоей психологии значительно улучшил игру в прошлых сезонах. Лучший playa, привет из России!
6:00 I laughed pretty hard at the jump cut. I was about to comment how you spent a minute talking about playing it safe, "don't go right at the pin, its a trap from 185... etc." and then you drop a dart just left of pin... "I apologize, but I am better than you..."
