This is when Heroes was still sticking to the rules of the show. Hiro cannot break the grandfather paradox. He cannot undo an event entirely, but here he time travelled to set up an event in the present.

Grandfather paradox is self destructing circle: You kill your grandfather - You won't be born - You'll never return to kill him - AND that means that your whole life never existed Two outcomes: You'll be the forever stranger to new timeline, OR the moment you kill grandfather, the time will be reset to the only one TRUE timeline And the second one I suppose is impenetrable barrier for time travellers to connect with someone. Or physics just doesn't work like that

SayitSayuri Kinda, future Hiro stabbed Sylar, but Sylar survived due to Claire’s powers. So he goes back yo say, “save the cheerleaders save the world”. Sylar still survives, because Hiro cannot change the direct event that he traveled back for. All sorts of things can change around the event like the explosion in New York, but Sylar had to live. Present Day characters can travel to the future and travel back and change things, but for most of the series; traveling to the past to undo an event meant the event still happened.

This is when the series was still good. It has some missteps along the way, but stripping Peter of his powers was when it got to the point of no return of being garbage. Had the writer’s strike never happened, I wonder what directions Heroes would have gone.

Nah this was Season 3. Season 3 is the single most plot hole filed dreck ever put on television. It's the gold standard for nonsense plots for me to this day. The ONLY shows that ever came close to being this bad were late Dexter and the 3rd season of American Horror Story.

He traveled back in time then reappeared in the exact same spot the moment he left That only applies when he freezes time (because if you really freeze time then physics wouldn't work

@@arturofernandez4058 hehad to re watch it because of you bur all he did was pause time and think for a second while standing still then do time travel stuff to prep the trick then he comes back in the exact same location with the replica blade instead Now from the girls perspective the only tell would be the tip of the blade changing or his hair moving odd for half a second, then there is also the possibility that she has to turn on the ability so she just has regular human perception but even if she had the super speed it probably would work

Perfectly said, however I will go further to say this show is probably one of TV's finest works, at least the first season. The excellence of the first season is so unparalleled even to this day. The closest thing to this today would be westworld or the wire. Tim Kring and The writer's strike really killed the show, or at least derailed it

Because to start with he didn't have control over his powers and as the show progressed his powers began taking a toll on his health. The further back he travels the more damage it causes. Also because of the butterfly effect he could end up drastically changing the future.

He DID freeze her at first. Then he subconsciously made time move just a little bit - but that was enough for Daphne to move at normal human speeds relative to him. Hiro absolutely can stop, reverse, or fast forward time.
