How Hong Tae-sun Became a Top 3% Architect in the U.S. | The Globalists 

Hong Tae-sun went to the US as a young boy who dreamed of becoming a pianist. Although he ended up studying medicine at the urging of his parents, his passion for the arts always remained in his heart. While in pre-med, he pivoted to architecture at the recommendation of his professor who recognized Hong’s aptitude in both art and science. Before long, he was named a fellow of the American Insitute of Architects (FAIA), an honor that is only bestowed upon 3% of the FAIA’s total membership.
In this week’s edition of the Globalists, we visit the office of architect Hong Tae-sun to learn more about his architectural philosophy and what he believes to be the best example of good architecture.
