How Houndstone Can Deal Over 260 Million HP Damage in One Hit in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet 

This must've been the longest weirdest battle for those Pokémon NPCs watching.

After doing some research, I conclude that more damage could've been done. The following damage-increasing methods weren't used: Target could have been a Psychic type that was targeted by Gourgeist TrickOrTreat, which adds Ghost type in addition to their existing types. Target could have, via Mimic/Copycat, be made to use Glaive Rush in the previous turn, causing it to take double damage. A stronger Ghost-type could have taken Last Respects from Houndstone via Mimic to attack with a higher base ATK stat.

“This dog does 11640 damage per second”

mimikyu has 5 defense instead of ralts 4, but it can learn copycat at level 1 which means that it can copy a glaive rush (just be sure to bust the disguise first) and take double damage

I'm actually surprised the game didn't just implode from such a high number

Pure Power here is actually better that huge power: for some reason when you skill swap huge power, the boost becomes only x1.5, but pure power stays x2

There's a way to do even MORE damage: Have the opposing target have either Sturdy or Focus Sash, eat a Last Respects, then use METAL BURST. (Counter won't affect Houndstone)

Basculegion will be able to learn this move by breeding, once Home becomes compatible. It has a slightly higher Attack stat. Edit: access to Adaptability isn’t better than Huge Power for this strat, but it does make Last Respects more powerful under normal battle conditions. I did the math, and Basculegion would do ~282 million.

..............DAMN. Houndstone already deserved the hype from how adorable Greavard is, but this? That deceased doggo is one of the most privileged Pokémon possible. Suck it, Shuckle!

And just like that shuckle has been dethroned as the pokemon that could deal the highest most possible damage also the only possible way to counter such an absurd attack is 2 possibilities one destiny bond 2 normal typing

No pokemon center is gonna help the poor ralts recover

If there were some way to let azumaril faint, and let power spot still be active and still get the helping hand boost, the max power is even higher.

I think this is a little overkill

You could have also used Pawmot's move that revives a fainted ally to add another K.O. to boost Last Respects.... In fact, if you had four Pawmots, who each can revive one pokemon...

I would keep Houndstone as a trump card to use when all my other pokemon dies out

Why everyone is so into Last Respects Howndstone but nobody is freaking out about Rage fist Anihilape with Maushold in doubles that essentially has infinite power ?

I thought the move had to hit for the metronome item to gain its effect

With that much damage you might get a slaking to 90% hp

If Boltund is released you can squeeze more power out of this. Tera Electric an Iron Ball Wingull in Electric Terrain. Have an opposing boltund use electrify on Houndstone turning the move into an electric type move. However, once Calyrex-Shadow realizes returning to Tera Ghost should be stronger.

And then… *Houndstone hit itself in it’s confusion!*

This can go way higher. First off, the video didn’t actually do that much damage, there were only 4 deaths on the video, so the power would be 250 not 5050. The move is based on the number of faints, so it can cap at 5050. Surprisingly, tropius would make this possible. Using the setup as tropius holding a leppa berry with the ability harvest and the moves sleep talk rest and mimic (to mimic pawmots revival blessing) and an opponent Pokémon using sunny day, as well as skuntank or some other Pokémon using memento, the tropius would be able to revive infinitely since sleep talks pp would be restored by the leppa berry and the leppa berry would be restored by harvest. Ralts can also copy glaive rush to make it take double damage with mimic. Also, chien pows sword of ruin could further lower ralts defense. So while the video didn’t actually deal that much damage, it technically could deal that in addition to a glaive rush and sword of ruin deficit to the ralts defense, and this would all be possible within current gen 9. Anihillape can also use mimic to learn last respects, making the team even stronger because his attack is 115 as opposed to hound stones 110. After home is updated trixk or treat, as well as other things can be used to further increase this damage, but as of right now this is as strong as this.

I wonder if normalize + normal tera + item swapped normal gem (the normal gem would be used up in the first Last Respects otherwise) would make up for the lack of being super effective The other way to maximize damage would be to use it against a psychic/ghost type when HOME updates, or to use Trick-or-Treat on the ralts (unless that move got dexit-ed? I don't remember anymore)

This totally fits the way that I play. I try to get through the game as underleveled as possible, so I have to buy tons of items to make it through the e4.

Just one thing, without using revival blessing to boost the power of last respects, annihalape's signature move rage fist is stronger than last respects, being capped at base 350 power as opposed to last respects being base 300

Just a question. Would switching out Oranguru to Chien-Pao on the last turn have increased the damage? How does the rounding work? Can defense be a decimal? Or does it have to be an integer greater than 0?

You can swap Azumaril out for Medicham who has a similar ability that also doubles attack the stat, but it learns skill swap and helping hand.

How to counter the best damage in the game: 1 Lechonk

So A few questions: 1. _Why on earth_ does last respects cap out at 100 fainted pokemon instead of the 5 other pokemon you can have on your team? 2. How do we even know the cap is 100? 3. Does this also work on Kingambit with Supreme overlord?

That hit obliterated every ralts and every evolution of ralts that has ever existed. The whole ralts line has been removed from the list of known pokemon.
