To everyone who stopped by, watched the video, and left their thoughts here, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I'm beyond floored with the reception that this one has gotten, and I am beyond happy that people enjoyed it. This one took a really long time to research, record, write, and produce, so it means so much to me. Thank you again, everyone!

Kazuah's friend didn't challenge Raiden Shogun out for his Vision. He challeneged to face her ultimate attack. He dueled Sara first lost and that meant he would be struck down like Signora did. He lost. This AMBITION of his got him killed. Something Ei wanted to stop by taking peoples Visions. Kazuha didn't parry squat. his friend and his visions did. Ones ambition is to challenge the attack and the others is to be free. If it wasnt for the Traveler Kazuha and them would have been merced immediately after that parry.

I am a little late to find this, but I‘ll leave my thoughts on your conclusion here regardless about „the highest highs“. I absolutely agree, I think that version 2 in its entirety, not just Inazumas spotlight, certainly had the highest highs in the game for me so far. I started playing as early as version 1.0, though half of 1.1 and whole 1.2 I was on a break, my real journey started with Xiaos release in 1.3. So I can only emphasize on how magical Inazumas reveal was with all the hype built up through hearsay and rumours in the playerbase. Next to the beautiful meaning and closure of Inazumas story (which would have benefited from 4+ chapters like sumeru imo to take time telling the tale) the perilious trail quest and 2.4 Lantern Rite with Shenhes introduction both were absolutely astounding. Version 2 has by far the most moments and cutscenes I wanna see for the first time again because the Shogun battle, Shenhes redemption and the opera plus Hoyo nearly killing off my favorite character while witnessing his past all had me crying badly and you can’t tell me that wasn’t the most epic stuff ever. I still get the chills watching signoras end and the aftermath… I hope they don’t tell us more about Fontaine so it’s revealing special program can be just as magical as Inazumas was -holy- almost two years ago

i am also late but i like this analysis of how we cannot simply trust what other people say in the game, since at the end of sumeru archon quest we are told by a mysterious voice that we should only trust what WE see, for that alone is true

a correction worth noting is that Ei did not actually fight Kazuha’s friend directly. He was defeated by Sara in a duel before the throne. After he was defeated by her, he faced the wrath of the Musou no Hitotachi. This is confirmed in Kazuha’s voiceline on Sara in his profile.

To be honest, I like how the Genshin story unfolds. I don't mind that we're told something at one point, then it turns on its head later because what we learned before was a misconception or a lie. It's kinda like in real life. And the way it's given to us makes sense to me, it's not like Genshin storywriters have ever run into dead end and had to back up, something I have met in other stories. And I really enjoyed Inazuma story, despite what others say how underwhelming it was. Sumeru totally overshadowed Inazuma and everything else, it was just too good. Way too good. But that does not make Inazuma bad. Every now and then, I really wish I could relive these moments in the game all the way since the beginning, the fascination with a new world, and the process of discovering it. But all these things are stored deep in my memory and there's no turning back, starting a new account does not cut it.

Dango milk not selling? buy it wholesale and distribute it door to door for free Looking for new leader in Kanjou commission? fite me! Losing at shogi? do it over and over and over and over and over again resetting Raiden Shogun protocol? A deity equivalent of basically slapping the CRT TV till it bent it's knee and obey you as it's rightful master. For her it's all or nothing in the most straightforward manners like a lightning. To put it nicely she's a woman of focus, commitment and sheer fucking will... to put it badly she's a muscle head with tunnel vision. Either way she's incomplete without Makoto her balancing counterpart. In that regard giving her role to Raiden Shogun assisted by tri-commission is a good move. She's like Venti, by nature are extremely unsuited as bureaucrat and leader.

I realised a lot of people seems to have missed the subtext during the "date". More than fan-service it's an exposition of Ei's relationship with her people and the Shogun For example, the photograph part : it's litterally Ei describing what the Shogun is to her -> a representation of herself fixed in time that is her and not her at the same time !! And well, Hoyoverse is quite known for using subtext in Honkai ! The thing in Genshin is that we have Paimon exposing everything constantly. Which, imo, tend to make people less alert of subtext in Genshin while it's quite important in the story. I'd say Paimon is not your lighthouse, she's your distraction haha !

You have to understand that the most vocal people who hated that quest are people who had just that story quest as closure to Inazuma archon quest. The second story quest hasn't come out yet. Because the ending in Inazuma archon quest doesn't feel like a proper closure. Ei's actions shouldn't be forgiven that easily. Sure, it's not unbelievable for people to forgive her that easily, but as a story, it just doesn't hold up. It felt unearned. And people were seeking proper closure. So when this date of a story quest was dropped, it felt like nothing but a wet noodle slap to the face of everybody's dissatisfaction. There's also the argument that you can't just punish a god and that's true but that's not what I'm saying. Because in that story quest, it felt like her convictions were shaken by just dangos, light novels and stuff like that. The very conviction that made people suffer for centuries are now challenged by dango. It felt cheap. Sure, it's not unrealistic, but again, as a story, it's not satisfying. That was achieved by her second story quest. That oomph that the first story quest couldn't pack was in that quest. I honestly think her second story quest should be her first story quest. Firstly, to give proper, satisfying closure to the dumpsterfire that is Inazuma's archon quest and also to make Ei's conviction not feel cheap and her forgiveness earned. We shouldn't be immediately buddy-buddy with this person who's tried to kill us just a few weeks prior and we tried to kill in turn. That date just felt out of place and we couldn't appreciate that. The problem is, people had already lost confidence in Genshin's writing by the time Ei's second story quest came about so it didn't stir up people as much as it should have at the time of release.
@Soundwave1900
@Soundwave1900 Год назад
@@Rex_Nichts not only that, but the second quest doesn't change much either. She still doesn't even look like she feels sorry for all the people who died in the meaningless civil war or became empty husks without their visions or fell to powerty because of the closed borders or got stuck in a hostile country that strips them off any valuables they have. Not a single group of those who suffered from her "i know but it doesn't stop my eternity from happening so i don't care" attitude has been addressed. And probably never will at this point, knowing hoyo writing.

"More than fan-service it's an exposition of Ei's relationship with her people and the Shogun" - Yes, but the tone in which it was presented it wasn't the right now at that moment. Coming right off a very dark story filled with wars, death and famine, the sudden change in tone to a slice of life esque dating sim (akin to Lisa, Yoimiya and Ayaka) was a tonal whiplash that made it seem like they were trying too hard to make her seem cute and quirky while handwaving everything that has happened or has been indirectly caused by her as nonexistent. You could literally pinpoint every single issue people have with Ei to this quest. Yes it can be argued that the people of Inazuma wouldn't exactly hate her that much but that only intensifies that notion that she can do whatever she wants and get away with it, which isn't going to endear her, because we as the audience aren't the people of Inazuma, aren't in the thumb of a god. Audience want consequences, and to be devoid of that is to leave a very, VERY bad first impression. And it's not some one off issue of people failing to understand subtleties either. The second story quest takes every cricticism levied against the first and addresses it, and even the Sumero quest for Wanderer takes cues from this first quest on how NOT to begin a redemption arc. TLDR: If you want a write a tragic, misguided figure under a redemption arc, make sure you don't start with a shopping date.

Finally someone else who agrees that Shogun's first story quest was necessary and important And to elaborate on my opinion: Makoto's death plunged Ei into a huge amount of grief. And she acted in a selfish yet understandable manner that hurt herself. Ei decided to seal herself in, ignore her people, let her nation do whatever while she holed herself up and grieve for eternity. While understandable, avoiding the problem and dwelling on it forever is not a healthy coping mechanism. You can't spend your entire life mulling over past regrets. The first story quest was unravelling part of this: getting Ei to accept responsibility. Bringing the Shogun around Inazuma not only showed Ei that there was still beauty around her that she had never looked at before, but also finally reconnected the god with _her_ people. She finally connected with her people's hopes and dreams and the lives they lived every day. She realised the importance of taking care of Inazuma. And the political side of the story is a continuation of this. By intervening in the factional infighting within Inazuma, Ei is finally accepting her responsibility and governing her nation. She probably never even realised this was what she needed to do, and probably thought this was just one isolated incident. But this was an important and crucial step to moving on. And the second story quest resolves the main catalyst for her behaviour. Getting over the death of her sister and move on. Ei gets one last talk with her sister, while we learn more about Ei's backstory, and Ei finally moves on from eternity. At the same time, this second act also offers a new meaning for eternity that Ei can adopt, in memory of her sister and to help her move on. Accepting the fact that Makoto is now gone, accepting the responsibility that she now bears, finding a new purpose for her life and a way to honour her sister's memory. These two story arcs combined display a healthy way to overcome tragedy and grief. Both parts are vitally important to each other. Was the first story quest perhaps handled incompetently by not directly addressing the reason for its existence? I won't deny that. Raiden's first story quest and Kokomi's story quest both have a deeper meaning that they did not directly address and are as a result viewed as bad. This could be regarded as a flaw of Inazuma's writing. Ei's journey isn't complete, of course. A lot of people are still complaining how there hasn't been a resolution for her story with Ei choosing something else to focus on or governing Inazuma in-person more. I believe there's plenty more time for character growth to take place however. It's a similar situation with Xiao imo, where Xiao has been shown that his behaviour actually isn't necessary and he can stop. There's just one more step he needs to take to resolve his arc which hasn't been taken yet but easily can be. We've been shown that Ei repealed the Sakoku Decree slightly before the Irodori Festival. This is probably a sign that Ei is finally moving on and (maybe?) embracing her sister Makoto's idea of eternity, to honor her memory and make Inazuma a better place. This is a good step forward. The final part of Ei's story, of truly cherishing, improving and honouring the memory of her sister, will hopefully come in the future. Hope I didn't sound too confusing here

ei was a character that disappoints me when i first played genshin. I got her on her first banner and was hype for her, but inazuma as a whole, i was def part of the crowd that felt heavily let down by it. It was only when her second story quest was released that i gain more appreciation for her character and i accidentally pulled her c1 and not kokomi because duo banners were still kinda new back then and accidents happen (wanted her c2 but my primos were drained during wanderer's banner lol). Ei is an incredibly emotional character, almost all of her actions are emotionally driven instead of logical. the creation of the raiden puppet, the sukoku degree, the vision hunt degree, they all started because of her incredibly emotionally driven character of not being able to process grief. it's actually an interesting parallel to scaramouche and his way of processing grief. both of them kinda see emotions as a bad thing, more so scara's anti emotions mindset was inherited thanks to ei's whether anyone wanna argue directly or not, but both of them are incredibly emotional. some people see ei as a whiny crybaby, and i did too, but quite frankly, now, i'd factor that into her very emotional character that isn''t really brought up a lot because i believe people, including ei herself, tend to believe that emotions are more so makoto's thing and undermines her own emotional tendencies

Zhongli doesn't face any consequences for his years of slaughtering other gods yet so many of you want something that no being in Teyvat can grant. Her fight against the puppet was her punishment 500 years of torture is what she describes it as. Stop looking at her like she's human because she isn't you can't just punish her like you can people irl that's not how this works. People also need to remember that the events of the Archon Quest aren't all her fault just partially her fault. The very people she trusted to run Inazuma lied to her and gave her false reports thus clouding the Puppet's judgment of the affairs within the nation, if she was given all the info the events of the archon quest wouldn't even have happened in the first place. Ayaka tells us this as does Yae Miko. Her first story quest backs this up too. Adding to that She does quite a lot of things after the Archon Quest to help the people of Inazuma move forward towards a better future with Yae Miko's help. Her second story quest even has her acknowledge how she had failed her people and that she has to own those mistakes to better herself and Inazuma. The only problem I have is that the Devs didn't shows us enough of what she does after the quest to help Inazuma they told us what happened. But they didn't show us what happened, they messed up the show don't tell part. Sumeru suffers from this too. Although both Kokomi's and Ayato's story quest both showcase what Raiden and her government are dealing with after everything that's happened if you missed that I'm sorry but that's a pretty important thing that the Devs did take the time to show us.

I can’t lie, when I first saw the video on my home page the title and thumbnail made me *not* want to watch it, but I eventually did when it came on during auto play. And I’m so glad it did! This was such a refreshing rehash and retrospective on Inazuma, Ei, and their stories. It feels like such a long time ago that that part of the story played out and with the game in the thick of Sumeru, it can sometimes even feel forgotten. Now it seems like when people mention Inazuma’s story, it’s to point out the bad parts of it’s telling. And there definitely are many. But I think fandom has forgotten the parts where it shined, and I appreciate this video for highlighting that. Having your fresh and excited perspective on the story and character took me back to when I was in your shoes and made me remember what I loved about it. For that I thank you! These are the type of videos that I love, so if you make more of these in the future, I will certainly watch.

My 2 main complaints whilst experiencing the content when current was: 1)the rebellion was too short, there should have been more battles the traveler took part in between joining the resistance and the delusion factory, such as spawning in some naval ships of both sides and the traveler fights across them, maybe even where for part of it the traveler is using the waverider against inazuma navy. 2) the Ei date. Ei has made several puppets by this point, she should not be mystified by the camera. Her first solution to how it works could be wrong, ie a miniature puppet inside making a painting really fast. but none of the real life early mysticism surrounding cameras and stealing souls or the like. the minor letdown is that after doing the quest, as the traveler, you don't really hear as much gossip as you should about the traveler having a date with the archon....
@twolfblue5695
@twolfblue5695 Год назад
My biggest problem was the lack of voice over in important story quests. As well as, limited time event content. I lost so much. 1) in war, resources get spent. we arrive late into the conflict and that's why we easily ascend as a valuable asset/threat. We survive a direct confrontation with the shogun and establish diplomatic relations with all parties involved in the conflict. 2) curiosity towards the camera has been shared by most people in teyvat.we should assume that a goddess of eternity whom only reads light novels and meditates would be on guard against a known evil spirit. known for trapping peoples souls in it.
@Soulferno
@Soulferno Год назад
I feel your second complaint isn't entirely grounded. Making a puppet move through elemental power, ie magic, is not the same as the prospect of a photograph. Even in our own world, the invention of pictures and film was far beyond what people could imagine despite the numerous technological advances that had been going on at the time. In Teyvat, its because its straight up technology and not based on existing and widely used energy sources that Fontaine's Kameras are seen as a confusing marvel by many people outside of their region, especially to a god who never really left her homeland. As for gossip around the Shogun, you have to understand that the relationship between her and her people is similar to a historical Shogun and their people. Honor and loyalty was the foundation of that respect for a Shogun. Menial gossip would be seen as fully disrespectful and if that sounds like headcanon, just think about the fact of who was fighting who in the war. Watatsumi started the resistance while most of the rest of Inazuma simply complied with the Shogun's wishes. Watatsumi already had a bad history with the Shogun and her people because she struck down their god. That's all they really know about her and the Sakoku and Vision Hunt Decrees simply made it easier to start a war and garner support for it. Many people were completely fine with what the Shogun was doing because they believed in her leadership wholeheartedly. Not to mention that the population of Vision wielders are small so most wouldn't really care as it's not their problem. I believe a lot of people overblown Ei's story quest as a "date" when it's more or akin to a readjustment to society. The people respect the Shogun and treat her as a respected leader, not a celebrity. I think a majority of players misunderstood what kind of place Inazuma was and thought one thing without considering the other

@@Soulferno Seriously, the fact that people call it a date makes it very clear that these people would never be able to help rehabilitate someone who was out of touch, because it would require too much kindness than could be given to a person without it being for the sake of romance. The Seven Archons were the last seven Gods standing in a Battle Royale. None of them made it to their seats of power without blood on their hands. However, they are Gods, and it's much better to help a well-meaning, powerful God see a better path to doing good than punishing and attempting (and probably failing, due to that whole powerful God thing, but let's assume it's possible for a second) to replace her when it's clear that two-thirds of the Government had just previously been operating in a self-serving capacity, and who were also perfectly happy to actively maintain and enforce the VHD. This makes them just as bad as her in action, and even WORSE in intention. The players who would not have helped Ei would have absolutely made Inazuma worse than it already was, all for the sake of punitive thinking.

The Shogun fighting a CIVIL WAR wouldn't make her a dictator by any stretch of the imagination. Nice video, one part you didn't touch on which fits perfectly with what you said about Mihoyo setting expectations is from Raiden's demo. At the end she quotes a Buddhist poems from a well known anthology. It reads "Waking world you seem, Woven from the stuff of dream, All shall fade away." To make it short, it's about the Buddhist philosophy that the real world is as fleeting and illusionary as a dream, and that to escape that is to reach the Nirvana, the stillness of the mind. What it shows is the flaw of her ideals, she wants to reach that stillness of mind so that the nation would ascend through her (another buddhist concept that's shown through the Thousand eyes statue), but since the world is already fleeting it is an unobtainable goal.

They totally forget that Ei always fight to protect Inazuma in thousands years before. They don't even see that Inazuma warriors trusts Ei and worship her. I don't think her first quest is fan service. To me she is a god who never knew how human lives. We take her around and show her how a mortal life is. People may say that the shogun was the one who did everything but Ei knew what was going and didn’t give a damn about what was happening to inazuma but didn’t bother do anything because it is against eternity, what’s even worse is that after everything she’s like “why are people afraid of me?” I mean Ei, after what you put inazuma through, and considering what position you put us through, why are you acting so clueless? I will indeed recognize that she has changed for the better, clearly is trying to make up her mistakes and has done much for inazumas sake in the past, I really wished that the archon quest wasn’t rushed, and that it was given more effort and so on. Ei is definitely not my favorite character and unless she can redeem herself properly, she won’t be, but I don’t despise her and don’t see her as a bad person, it’s clear she had good intentions, but it just wasn’t executed well.

I mean, Raiden really was supposed to be a big character. And everything in the game design succeeded in doing this... Except the Archon quest and Her story quest 1. The lack of proper writing directly affected her image for me and no matter whatever happens after, the damage was already done. Sumeru is where I actually felt the impact of Inazuma... And especially Scaramouche. For me , Nahida and Scaramouche did soo much more than Raiden and are BIG characters... Raiden never is. The Inazuma Archon quest almost failed to make me believe that Raiden is this big character who cut a huge island. The philosophies of Sumeru is what made me realise the problems and weaknesses in Ei's decisions and philosophies. Scaramouche slowly DESTROYING the idea of eternity itself was soo cool. How the things we know and things that we thought are there forever could be manipulated... Inazuma's Archon quest was a great idea. It had many valuable philosophies that influence a lot of ideas we hear later in the story. But IT WAS A BAD QUEST LINE. They failed to make us feel the impact of everything they mentioned. The civil war felt like non-existence even though we spent so much pointless time doing chores . The only fun part was upto our first meeting of Raiden. Game took it's time. They should have taken more and more time on civil war and all. It was painfully slow yet rushed through anything.

I've been curious before about Genshin, and have a friend who used to play it a lot, but it was always "that game I heard about." Ei/Raiden Shogun changed that because I felt more personally invested in getting to know more. She's similar in design to a character I made in another game, filling-in spaces that I couldn't, and as such became an extension of that character that I felt I always wanted. Somehow my introduction to Ei marked an evolution of both for me. Now, I'm always glad to click a random Genshin clip or video that might give me another glimpse of that world, another view point. However, your video is more than a glimpse. It's a mediation on an experience. I thoroughly enjoyed all of it; you did a great job.

This video accurately describes my wonderful experience with Inazuma as a whole compared to the impact that Monstadt and Liyue gave me. I also heard about Raiden Shogun and Ei through hearsay, and the first reason why I got so curious about her was when I was asked by one of my friends this question: "Who is your favorite Genshin Impact character?" Being asked that question on the last quarter of 2021 was quite difficult for me, as I was just a newbie that time. So my friend showed the entire set of character cards that were only present at that time, and Raiden Shogun's character card piqued my interest the most. He then told me that she is one of the best DPS in the game, so I prepared myself for her upcoming rerun 3 months prior. It was a very long journey from Monstadt to Inazuma. The biggest mission I had in mind back then was only to have a successful 50/50 pity of her in March 2022, but the stories, characters, and lore of Genshin Impact were also very interesting that I didn't dare ignore every cutscene, dialogue, and quests it all had to offer then, so to others my experience was not like grinding at all. It was simply just enjoying Genshin Impact the way it is. So when I step foot in Ritou, I really had a fresh experience with Inazuma and its content, and I got really excited to see her Musou no Hitachi as I often read from other NPCs, Kazuha and Morax about Beelzebul, Baal, and the Shogun. It was a huge blast of excitement, wonder, relief, and love for Genshin Impact at the same time. And all the quests helped me won Raiden Shogun after I lost the first 50/50 with her. But since I had extra Intertwined Fates, I made 180 pulls just for her alone in that rerun banner. And boy! I was never disappointed getting her at all! IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!!! :> :> :>. Now that we are currently experiencing Sumeru, I'd honestly say that Inazuma and Sumeru are both my #1 favorite regions in Teyvat as of today. Both delivered amazing content that left such a huge Genshin IMPACT to me :>. The experience I had with both was more than Monstadt and Liyue could offer. This only means that Hoyoverse is slowly getting better in storytelling and making a game.

Great video! Something to understand is, Inazuma doesn't actually have an Archon, this might sound odd, but hear me out, as the game doesn't directly tell you this. From the Wiki: "𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒐𝒕𝒐 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒊 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒕𝒘𝒊𝒏 𝒈𝒐𝒅𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒏 𝑾𝒂𝒓. 𝑾𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝑬𝒊 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒇𝒂𝒓 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒐𝒕𝒐, 𝑬𝒊 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒐𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒂 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒓𝒖𝒍𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚. 𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒔, 𝑬𝒊 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒚 𝒔𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒔𝒐 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒐𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒂𝒔𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝑪𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒂 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏. 𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝑬𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒓𝒐 𝑨𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒏, 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒐𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑬𝒊'𝒔 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝑬𝒊 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒌𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒂, 𝒐𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒅𝒐𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒆. 𝑨𝒔 𝒇𝒂𝒓 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒕𝒘𝒐, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒆." So Ei was killed and resurrected, but that's not entirely true, because Archons can't resurrect people from the dead, if they could then Zhongli wouldn't be working at a funeral parlor, morning his dead friends. Likewise, when Matoko appeared in the story after Ei defeat the puppet Shogun, why couldn't her remaining consciousness simply share the puppet, like Matoko had presumably done when she resurrected Ei's consciousness? Simply put, it's an untruth, though not exactly a lie. For a slight deviation, let's consider the possibilities of how Matoko could have resurrected her based on what we know of Archon powers. As Morax, Zhongli created Teyvat's currency known as Mora, and he used his Gnosis in order to accomplish this. According to the Wiki: "𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒚 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅𝒘𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑻𝒆𝒚𝒗𝒂𝒕. 𝑵𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒑𝒖𝒕𝒆 𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒔." This statement makes a significant point, though it's not completely clear until we arrive in Sumeru. 'None dispute its value or status', in fact, with all the crimes in Liyue, you never hear about counterfeiting, because only Morax can create another Mora with his Gnosis, this is also why the production of Mora ceases with the death of Morax. Consider this for a moment, Zhongli traded his Gnosis with the Fatui at the Northland Bank, yet the Tsaritsa has made no attempt to create new Mora, because she can't. But the Tsaritsa might be able to produce and alternate currency to the Mora, who would use it though. When we arrive in Sumeru, we learn that Padisarah were created by the Goddess of Flowers, and after her death, Rukkhadevata attempted to recreate the flower with her Gnosis, but was unable to match the color, which might seem odd considering that she's the Goddess of Dendro, but not so odd when you understand that the Gnosis can only create the same thing for one person, just like with Mora. With this understanding, now let's revisit Raiden Shogun, in the correct sequence of events: Raiden Ei dies>Matoko becomes Archon>Uses Gnosis to recreate her dead sister Ei>Keeps existence of Twin a secret?>Ei has the mind of a newborn>Matoko dies>Ei secretly assumes the position of Archon>Fearing corruption, Ei creates a puppet to replace herself (Fails)>Ei creates another puppet (Success?)>Ei retreats into Plane of Euthymia. Now I make the following argument, Ei died during the Archon War, period. The story makes it very clear that Raiden Ei is no genius, Matoko on the other hand was brilliant. My believe is that Matoko was forbidden to resurrect Ei, having no other alternative, it was Matoko who was the one that created the Raiden Shogun Puppet, not Ei. This is the real reason why Matoko had to keep her sister's 'resurrection' a secret, because it would have violated Teyvat's 'Laws', where likewise, a Puppet could not act as her replacement, if something went wrong. In other words, Ei = AI, the first artificial intelligent operating system of the Raiden Shogun Puppet, and was never the consciousness of the real Ei, who died long ago. This is also why Ei failed at creating a perfect copy of herself using the Gnosis, which resulted in the creation of Scaramouche, Matoko had already made the Raiden Shogun, and only Matoko could create another. Facing this dilemma, Ei created a replacement AI to operate the Shogun in her place, and retreated into the Plane of Euthymia, it was the new operating system of the Shogun Puppet, which lacked any form of compassion, that mistreated Scaramouche, not Ei. This also explains the true meaning of the following statement: "𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅. 𝑰𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒂𝒃𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅. 𝑰𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒂 𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎: 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓-𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 "𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚." 𝑩𝒂𝒂𝒍, 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑽𝒂𝒋𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒂 𝑨𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒚𝒔𝒕 𝑮𝒆𝒎𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒆" Now why would Ei or the Raiden Shogun Puppet say that? It sounds kind of narcissistic and out of character, until you realize that the reason she's praising her body is because it is Matoko's creation, whom she holds in the highest esteem, and she's also condemning the defect, Scaramouche. Fun note, it also explains Ei's comment about 'replacing teeth', as she's always had a puppet's body. There is another question to ask, what actually qualifies an entity to call themself an Archon? Is it holding a Gnosis? If so, then technically speaking, it would have been Yae Miko who was the acting Electro Archon, not Ei or the Puppet, seeing as the later two had no access to it. For one final point, Genshin Archons mirror Honkai characters, though not specifically Herrschers, taking this into account, we can actually look deeper into certain characteristics, to find more comparisons: Kiana/Herrscher of the Void = Sustainer of Heavenly Principles Wendy = Venti Eden (Gold) = Zhongli (Morax) Dr. Mei = Matoko Raiden Mei = Ei Herrscher of Thunder = Raiden Shogun Puppet Theresa = Nahida Kallen + Cecilia + Hare/Misteln = Rukkhadevata And from that we can assume the rest: Seele = Focalors Captain Himeko + Himeko Murata (Both dead) = Murata (Likely dead) Fu Hua (Phoenix, Sigils of Soldier) = Pyro Archon (Current) Cocolia = Cryo Archon (Former, La Signora was given a body that looked like her.) Bronya = Tsaritsa Of course all of this is my opinion and highly speculative.

Zhongli is more welt than eden Given his part in adeptal devices
@Palsa-Achilleus
@Palsa-Achilleus Год назад
@@KudaGeatsune3821 No, he's a completely a unrelated character, their appearances are not remotely similar, they have different voices, personalities and powers. The other thing is Welt's Japanese VA is extremely well known, and they would have typecasted him for Zhongli, in the same way that they did with Yae, Raiden, Nahida and even Ayato (Otto,) if they were intended to be the same guy. Trust me, I've picked this apart so many times, and Eden is the most likely candidate, they have a ton of things in common when you look into it. Personally, a more likely candidate for Welt is actually Xingqiu's father, who has been mentioned on a number of occasions, but has yet to make a single appearance. Most people haven't made this connection yet, but Xingqui has an alter-ego in Honkai Impact 3rd, it's Joffrey Welt Joyce from A Post Honkai Odyssey. Xingqui and Joyce are both young boys with blue hair and an obsession with reading, they are also voiced by the same actress. Several reasons why I think Welt's alter-ego might be based on Xingqui's father, first he's a very influential person in Liyue, owning the Feiyun Commerce Guild: "𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒆𝒊𝒚𝒖𝒏 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒆 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝑳𝒊𝒚𝒖𝒆. 𝑰𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒏𝒗𝒐𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒗𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒔, 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒌 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒔. 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒇𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒕. 𝑻𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒑. 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒂𝒍𝒔𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑 𝒊𝒏 𝑺𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒖 𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒋𝒆𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒓𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒌, 𝒂𝒔 𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎." There is also a very strong possibility that he is one of the unnamed members of the Liyue Qixing, along with Keqing and Ningguang. For a final note on Xingqui's father, we have yet to see him make an actual appearance in the game, and we don't even know his name, just that he is very powerful, now with all the time that Liyue has been released, the fact that he hasn't made so much as a single appearance means that there is a good chance he might be intended as a playable character in the future, as was with Ayato. On a separate note, Xingqui has an older unnamed brother who is also a major partner in the Feiyun Commerce Guild, and he might just be inspired by the original Welt Joyce. As for Eden, here are some of the examples: Excluding Zhongli's stray hairs and low ponytail, both characters share the same hair structure, the crown separates in the same exact location, the primary hair strands are the same number and follow a similar path, with several strands being longer on the right side than the left, and both characters have the same bangs, though Zhongli's are longer. None of the hairstyles for the male characters in Honkai Impact 3rd share similar characteristic to Zhongli's, in fact they are completely different from Zhongli's hair altogether, now Adam from A Post Honkai Odyssey does have the correct hair and eye colors, but that is his only similar trait. Both characters are brunettes with golden eyes, Eden's hair has a hint of red and her eyes a bit of green, where Zhongli's hair and eyes deviate to Geo Yellow, as we should expect from the Geo Archon (Raiden and Nahida's hair and eye colors are the same when compared to their counterparts). Both characters wear a single long earring on their left ear. Both Characters wear dark draping clothing, Eden a long dress and Zhongli a long coat. Both characters are associated with drinking wine. Eden's code name is Gold, Morax is where Mora gets it's name. Both characters are lavish spenders renowned for giving away 'gifts', Eden because she has an abundance of them, where Zhongli has no concept of 'Mora'. Eden demonstrates this in the current Honkai event Bustling Holiday Symphony, where she goes against Aponia's advice in spoiling Rozaliya and Liliya by buying them whatever they want, Zhongli demonstrates this behavior in the teaser An Additional Expense. Both have a keen interest in the arts and encourage growth along similar paths, Eden as a former opera singer and stage performer, where Zhongi spends all his idle time listening to poets and makes an effort to attend all of Yun Jin and Xinyan's shows. Eden was the first to wield the Divine Key Star of Eden, where it gets it's name from, Zhongli summons a Meteor. Both characters decide and stage their own theatrical 'deaths', Eden chooses to die with her people from the old world in her 'Final Act', where Zhongli puts on an elaborate performance in front of the Qixing, so that his people would learn to adapt without him, note that both characters' deaths are motivated by the well being of their own people. Both characters are from the 'Old World' in their respective games, Eden's simulation is over 50000 old when Mei enters the Elysium Realm, Zhongli is at least 6000 years old, but is implied to be much older. Both characters take oaths and promises very seriously, and will withhold vital information from Mei/Traveler until it they have reached the point where the protagonist is ready to hear that information. Eden is the last Flame Chaser that Mei meets with before reviving Elysia, stating the following: "𝑰'𝒗𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉 𝒊𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎, 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒂 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚.", her final remarks are: "𝑴𝒂𝒚 𝒄𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒃𝒍𝒂𝒛𝒆 𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒐𝒓𝒔." and "𝑴𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒍𝒅.". Eden also makes it clear that she never had an interest in wealth or power, it was other people that brought it to her, and the entire reason why Eden became a Mantis was because she wanted to become stronger so she that could help the people, something she felt so strongly about that she risked becoming a monster. Zhongli states in his trailer: "𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒅𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒚𝒆𝒕 𝑰 𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒐𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒍𝒌 𝒔𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓.", he also states at the very end: "𝑻𝒐 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒆𝒇𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒂𝒇𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒃𝒐𝒓, 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝑳𝒊𝒚𝒖𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒘... 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕, 𝒕𝒐𝒐, 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒆𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒆." The other point that is worth noting, this is a Mihoyo game, and they love Gender-Bending characters, I mean, the very first Archon we meet is Venti, who was based on Wendy, and there's an important reason for that, because Wind is not a common element in Honkai Impact 3rd, yet Wendy is a playable character in Houkai Gakuen 2. So essentially, all identifiable characters that Archons are based on, are female and playable, including the most likely characters for future Archons, all of which are strongly implied to be inspired by main or key characters. Now as for Gender-Bender characters, consider the fact that almost every Stigmata in the game is based on a real person who's gender was flipped, and Su even states that while looking into another world, he encountered an evil version of himself, that was a woman. And there is also a story in Genshin called Rex Incognito, where Zhongli is implied, though possibly debunked within the story, that he has taken on the form of a woman in the past. It's a very short segment of the story, so why would they even bother writing it into there? Anyway, I can assure you that Eden is most likely his alter-ego in the Honkai series, they probably have other plans in mind for Welt.

Even now she is pretty much only Archon which was a antagonistic force to Traveler. Story wasn't always the best, because it sometimes felt that they were trying to build up Scaramouche but it was a satisfying one. Honestly considering to create new account just to experience it again. Maybe when the story will finish :D

I really like your video and Ei is one of my favorite characters, tho I somewhat understand why many people dislike her. As players we know many more sides of what was happening in Inazuma (and Teyvat in general) than most characters and NPCs. The great combination of (sometimes bad) story telling and the multitudinous views we hear can easily lead to misunderstanding or hating someone like Ei. And hoyo did a good job picturing her as a villainess before revealing more lore. What we know, Ei did in the "important" last 500 years: •building Scara and then "discarding" him in what she thought would be eternal sleep, bc she didn't want to destroy him (and giving him a feather) •building the Shogun to rule in her stead, so that she can meditate in her plane of euthymia to avoid erosion •not stopping the vhd and sakoku decree, regardless of knowing about the Fatui What we don't know for sure: •how much she actually knew about the Watatsumi resistance and state of war •how she regards human lives (she is a god and warrior with little connection to mortals after all) In combination of everything that happened in the Inazuma Archon quest and what we learn from different sources, Ei is pictured as a strict warrior with nearly no understanding of human needs, little "talent" for ruling, yet still looked up to by her people. Her story quests show her what mortals are like and what they value, what they struggle with and what they expect of their archon, which makes her decide to become a better shogun to her realm. If one is looking for a villain in the Inazuma Archon Quests, then it's clearly the Fatui as they heat the flames of war for the sole sake of creating conflict. Most other parties do what they think of as best. Kokomi and Ayaka wanted to abolish the vhd and sakoku decree, Ei did pursue eternity, the shogun worked solely on her dictated principles, Sara wanted justice according to the shoguns laws and Miko... well, I'm not so sure about her, she likes to deceive people way too much.

For me, Inazuma archon quest have many plot holes. Raiden's story quest tried to redeem her from being one of the main villain, but for me it wasn't enough. Some people complained about how her story quest was about having a date with her, which felt wrong. A point that I can agree with. However, it doesn't mean that the story quest served no purpose in developing her as a character. The problem is not the current story quest's lesson for her, but because hoyoverse skipped one of the most important key ingredient for Raiden's character development. And that is the consequences of her past actions. Whether Raiden did it with good intentions or not, you can't deny that her past actions caused suffering for her people. Yes, the Fatui did most of the evil, but you also can't deny that it's her responsibility to protect her people. And just like in real life, every actions will have consequences. And Raiden did not once faced the consequences of her actions. Her people still loved her dearly despite what she made them go through. It's like saying, "Yes, you screwed us. But we still love you anyway." Maybe the story can choose to forget it, but we can't. One thing I know for sure when you wrote stories, is that you shouldn't underestimate your reader's level of intellect. And Hoyoverse trying to sweep her past deeds under the rug just won't work. I think the story quest should handle the consequences first, then we can deal with the date part as her second story quest instead. But Hoyoverse skipped it, which only gave me the impression that they just want us to forget her past deeds and make us see her in only positive light. In conclusion, I see Raiden with a missing key ingredient to be the perfect character. Because without learning the consequences of her past actions, how can she grow to be a better character? EDIT (Please read this): Okay, I'm going to make this clear and I will edit my original comment too so no more people will misunderstood what I'm saying. Since I feel like everyone misunderstood what I'm saying and assume I hate her and want her to burn for being evil. First of all, what I mean by consequences of her past actions is not injustice. I couldn't care less if she is pure evil or just a misunderstood character. That's why we can like evil characters like Joker, but there is no way we can like him as a person. What I really meant to say is that every actions is a domino effect/butterfly effect. A great example is the war that she didn't know. It doesn't matter what her intention is, and I don't care if she did it for evil or good, because to my eyes evil and good characters are just characters in a part of a story. Being punished in the planes of euthymia had nothing to do with her past misdeeds against the people of Inazuma. It is an entirely different domino effect, since it was caused by her past belief. Not the suffering of her people. The best consequences for her past actions after the war, is that some people would dislike or fear her. Like for example, a single widow who lost her husband in the war, or a family who lost their son in the war. Obviously, when you think must have happened to some of the people of Inazuma, those who lost their family members must be displeased by the Raiden Shogun. And to my eyes--who doesn't care about morality and what she did--it is just an opportunity to make a story. That's all. I don't hate her. I like her. I just think that she could be better, if the writer maybe addressed the problem and made her apology in the end of her first story quest more meaningful and powerful.

She didn't screw over her people, she was literally doing everything she could to protect them. She was taking away visions because she didn't want her nation to end up like khaenri'ah. She was seeing a way bigger picture than you can. The Vision Hunt Decree and Sakoku Decree were not in effect for that long, for a max of like 2 years while the puppet protected the nation for an entire 500 up to that point. Inazuma is also only nation so far to not have a celestial nail driven through it. Celestial nails are catastrophes so she was doing something right. You seem to have a hard time reading the game but a major factor about the Vision Hunt Decree was that most Inazumans did not care about it since visions are extremely rare and don't effect many people. To them, she was protecting them from something, which was true. She also hasn't been proven wrong yet. Everything can still go to shit and Celestia can decide to destroy her and her nation because she allowed the nation to move forward. Also, she was punished. She had to fight her own godlike puppet, her perfect match, for 500 years straight, without breaking concentration. She described it as torture. I see no criticism like this for characters like Childe, who tried to drown an entire nation for not being able to steal the Gnosis. Childe just prances around scott-free. Scaramouche who tried to take over an entire nation and kill and replace it's god. He also murdered an entire generation of his friend's family over a lie he was told and got to erase his identity and get off scott-free from everything he's done. Where's the punishment for them?

@@kyoga5714 Like I said before, whether she did it with good intentions or not, she caused her people suffering. She didn't screw her people intentionally. She unintentionally screwed them, especially for those who fought to death in the war against the people of Watatsumi Island. And a few other things like corruption here and there. Also, the punishment I was talking about was not a punishment for going against her own ideology--which is why she had a fight with her puppet. What I meant is that she should be punished for the consequences of her past actions. And what was the consequences of her past actions? The one where she let a lot of her own people die a meaningless death in a meaningless war. Yes, she didn't know. But how can a leader not know something as big as a war going on in her own country? A leader's responsibility is heavy, and she clearly fail at that. But I get it. Ei is not a good leader. Makoto was. Still, if you are the people of Inazuma, who would care about that? In their eyes, or at least if any one of us were ordinary people of Inazuma, who would care if she fits to be the leader or not? She made a mistake, and for that--at least some of us would be displeased of our leader. I mean, there is a reason why we get the chance to vote on our leaders based on their competency. Not because they have big names. And as for the other ones like Childe, he was written differently. He knows he is evil and not seeking redemption. Even his story quest did not make us see him as some kind of hero. He is someone who would do bad things fot the sake of his own God's wish. All his story did tell us was that--despite being evil--he is still a human who is capable to still love and care for someone. As for Scara, well, I don't have a strong opinion on him tbh. But in my opinion his story is still handled better than Raiden, because he is written differently. Besides, he actually have a good reason to kill them all, until he realized he was tricked the whole time. And then he decided to redeem himself. Or at least, he tried redeeming himself. Obviously he failed, thinking he could change history. But it doesn't change the fact that he made an effort and see his own mistakes. The point is that he is written to be someone who made a lot of mistake in the past, and had to live with it and make the best with what he have now. Did he get punished for it? No. But at least he know he made a huge blunder. While on the other hand, Ei fails to realize that her people suffered and never once learned that personally. Or at least, if she did, we never get to see it. But like I said before, there is nothing wrong with Raiden's story quest. It's just that Hoyoverse skipped one of the most important key ingredient. Also I'm writing this whole thing even tho I've been awake for two days straight. So there might be things I didn't elaborate enough or I made some mistake here and there. So if you still have some opinions or disagreement, feel free to say it~

@@7exon600 She does acknowledge She's made mistakes she even apologizes for them as shown here.... Ei: Not a chance. Even if their heir was someone who showed promise, their past mistakes cannot be erased.Ei: Still... I will give them a little more time. After all, they are not the only ones who have made mistakes.Ei: The Shogun does not make mistakes - she is incapable of doing so. But I, as Ei, would like to offer my apologies.Ei: I have much to contemplate in the days to come. But at least I can now see the way ahead. I think many people wanted a huge public apology on screen not an implied apology off screen. Which yeah I could understand that. I think the writers should have shown that. An acknowledgement of mistakes and an oath to do better is what happens in this story, which I see many people have a problem with. So many people want her to face some kind of physical punishment for her past actions or in this case inactions. Which I would say to those people tell me who exactly can hurt her? She's a God not only that but she's the one who actually won the Archon war not her Sister she stepped down for her because Ei is a warrior not a Leader like Makato. If anyone says one of the other Seven should punish her I'm going to say just no that wouldn't work. No being in Teyvat can make her face the consequences no being can punish her not without war happening and nobody wants that. She has to acknowledge that she screwed up which is exactly what she does. She also points out how she has failed as an Archon and that her grief has blinded her shown here. Ei: The people's sacrifice has always caused me immense pain, but in dwelling on the tragedy, I overlooked their splendor... The grief blinded me to how brightly they shone in their final moments. Ei: The result being that in the centuries since their sacrifice, I have dishonored their will. Ei: You could take the view that whatever I say to them is meaningless, because they are but disembodied memories held in the Ley Lines. Ei: But even so, they are due a resolution... I owe it to them and to all the people who have placed their faith in me to date. She says that she owes to the people to be better and acknowledges that her warrior mind set is no way to lead. This is owning your mistakes and acknowledging them and then swearing to be better. Which leads to her fight with the Shogun. Which on its own is it's own punishment it's not the idea that alot of people had in mind but it makes sense when you realize that nothing else can physically hurt her so instead let's mentally hurt her for 500 years and if she loses she's dies. As seen here Ei: To put it bluntly, it was constant torture with no end in sight.Ei: Faced with an endless battle, I had to remain focused at all times. Had my concentration lapsed for but a moment, the Shogun's blade would have taken my life. She put her life on the line for Inazuma I suppose that's not good enough for some people which I can understand but I don't agree. Putting your own life on the line and enduring mental torture to try to bring her nation to brighter future I would say that's punishment enough and worthy of some respect. Maybe that's just me though.

I would spend all my wishes on an anime that highlights Ei's entire backstory. Edit : I think a lot of us Raiden Shogun/Ei enthusiasts wouldn't mind if she decided to "pursue maternity." After a couple more dates of course.
