Yeah. I'm sure chess is very hype if you know how it works, but Ludwig managed to make this such an entertaining story, even for someone like me, who doesn't know anything about chess.
The time is 2.10 AM and I'm scrolling through youtube for some short and chill video to watch and then go to sleep after it. Little did I know that youtube recommendations hurls this masterpiece of a video at my way and I start watching it and suddenly it's 3AM and I enjoyed every second of the time I did not realise had passed. Thank you Lud. Just subscribed.
@@gtrampflips5035 What makes a "valid word"? whether it's used and understood. It's in most dictionaries (and most people will understand what it means) so it's valid
This is probably the greatest video Ludwig has ever made. He's an amazing storyteller, and you can tell he's been getting better at it over the last few months. This is his magnum opus.
Check out his Pokémon tournament video I think it was perhaps on par or even better! As well as his poker wins, those I always come back to every few months
@@zayk7095 TRUE the poker streams are just a classic that I can always fall back on. Also pokemon is the best story telling, most hype recounting of an event ever
This is honestly one of the best youtube videos I have ever watched. This genuinely seems like you wrote this like a story with clear conflicts and perfect resolutions. I don't know if this was all your editors work or if you had some part in this, but i'd like to give whoever made this an oscar.
The tournament arc of this anime is really intense. Usually the MC just tries their best and brute forces through it, but here we had an entire strategy outside of the actual game. They say history is written by the victors, but in this case it was written by Ludwig.
This was unironically a very uplifting story that highlights personal achievement regardless of skill level and persisting to your goal and even if you don't reach it you persist still to the next opportunity. Sure this is a chess thing but I'm gennuinely inspired atm by having watched this all the way through. Great effort Lud, I'm glad you've seen a new peak and are excited to find the next one.
"for the first time ever, I feel like I'm a streamer that people know about" and now not even 10 months later he's the most subbed to streamer of all time :') ludwig7
@@thatguy12332 of course that was huge, but I feel like this is what really put lud on the map. The subathon is what took him to the moon. You gotta walk before you can fly
Mr. pockets if the baby dies: “So I lost the court case...” or “So I was found guilty...” If the baby lives: “How I accidentally lost 2,550$ to child support”
@@brucewayne2184 its just the length of the video. every bit of the video was not just equally but more engaging as it went on. 47 minutes. thats one thirtieth of your day. i imagine you spent around 9 hours sleeping. so what the heck are you doing instead?
"I'm a streamer! I've never gotten up before noon ever!" lol hikaru's stream schedule is really early in the morning since his viewers come from across india and russia
I’m a bit late to the party here but I can confidently say this was in my top 5 of favorite RU-vid videos I’ve ever watched. Your storytelling is unmatched, you were eloquent and masterful in the analysis of your games and in your recalling of every event down to a T, there was humor and heartbreak and conflict and flashbacks throughout the entire thing, and there was even an important moral to the entire story: keep trying even in failure and take any victories, no matter how small, when you can. The music playing in every segment of the video fit perfectly every time as well. The last few minutes of the video were actually a little tear-inducing because of your beautiful wrap-up and takeaways from the event as well as your optimism about both the event and the future of the community. I’m shocked at how the clock seemed to go from 11 PM to 12 AM during a video that felt so much shorter. Both Ludwig and whoever edited this video should be extremely proud of themselves. (I swear this video also cured my migraine.)
This chess tournement brought me to your channel, i have been benging the youtube content and the twitch streams, i'm glad you entered the tournement ! New fan among a lot of new ones i'm sure
Damn this man has a gift for this stuff I just sat here for 47 minutes hearing about a chess competition, of all things, and enjoyed every second of it. I'm just a youtube frog tho I've seen his videos for months and based on the clips of how youtube frogs get treated I don't go to his streams but damn he is such a great content creator and will keep watching all of his youtube videos daily.
This is unironically one of the best video the Ludwig has made, shout out to the editor too and this really shows how influential music can be in speeches.
This was a rollercoaster of emotions...from hype about a scam, to hype about your skills, to doubt that you could close it, to inspired by your journey. It's not even about viewers, name recognition or an "inner circle". It's about respect as a content creator. And in my opinion, there's nobody better. Props to the journey that led you here and excited for the journey ahead. Ludwig7
Ah, it's finally here; been eagerly waiting for this one. It was a fun ride, truly. You earned yourself many new fans, myself included. So, with all due respect, Ludwig, I congratulate you on an awesome show and performance. Keep being awesome, man. Btw. can't wait for PogChamps 2, or whatever is coming up. :)
I didnt know ludwig liked chess. I enjoyed the vid cause i just got into chess like 2days ago plus ludwig's voice and storytelling really just never bores u lol
I've never heard of you or seen you play, but damn I just watched/listened to allll of that on 1x very cool storytelling man, and congrats on the achievements so far!
I watched this 2 minutes after it came out and I have to say it might be the best put together and entertaining stream video on RU-vid that I’ve seen. Bravo Lud and Polite
Ludwig: "How I accidentally became the biggest chess streamer of all time". Antonio: "Hold my beer." You are both great chess streamers. Thumbs up to you both.
You did very well considering and have a good reason to be very proud of yourself, and thankful to those that helped, or even tried to help you be better at chess. I was impressed and enjoyed your contributions during that match. Thx.
