Y'know, from a spectator's perspective I'm fairly sure Rob play differently against Brian. I don't know if it's because he adapted to the player matchup really well or that he's the type that feels more relaxed playing with friends/training partners instead of more nervous. I feel like it's the latter and I can definitely see him shouting that in the matches, lmao

Your closing statements really resonate with me & my observations regarding competition in the West. I've watched every EVO going from SF4 onwards & it's so plain to see which areas of the world really thrive when they come together and help each other to grow as players. One glance at the Japanese crew over the last 15 years will reveal a lot in how strong a community can become if they're willing to stand together in the lab. Congrats dude, well deserved.

Well deserved, too. These matches were great - nerves or no nerves, one could feel the intent, the conscious strategy behind them. The sets with Rob were the only unfortunate exceptions, where it felt like Brian kinda fell apart and gave Rob openings he knew he would exploit. But I guess having a demon like that can also have its perks. I know Brian will do even better next time. :)
