Lesson learned when you’re partnering with a company and you’re generating leads make sure the money comes to you first so you can take your cut. Make sure you do the billing and the collections.

Rule of thumb, when dealing with large amounts of money or asset,s , "personal guarantee " suing some fly by night LLC while they strip the(re) companies assets clean is a waist of time and money , Better to have a judgement against a dead beat then some abandoned company.

I just want to thank you for sharing your experiences with this sort of thing, it's refreshing that someone is willing to share their misfortune and mistakes so that other people may learn from them and hopefully not have the same incidents. It's a special kind of decency as a human being to be able to say "This experience was a mistake/misfortune/screwed me, but I want other people to learn from it" 10/10 for your honesty and disclosure.

This channel should be called Shark Tank Rentals. It’s very apparent that you’re not scared of them, since you’re business relies on them. The others (hammer heads) run into your parked cars, some sue you, and others list you cars in packages on their website. You gotta have balls to wake up and swim with them everyday.

Rob - I was a contractor in college and I had a client bamboozle me out of payment by cleverly running out the clock on my window of opportunity to sue him. Then he closed his company and started a new one without even changing the address. My dad gave me the best advice on how to collect, and it only took about 12 hours and cost less than $25. I bought a sheet of plywood and stencils and spray painted "Client's Name owes me $12,000 and refuses to pay. He shut down his company named this and opened a new company named that so I can't sue him. I'm 21 years old and I need that money to pay my tuition." I parked in front of his house with that sign. He called the cops, they laughed, he had several public freak-outs, threatened to sue me, then threatened to beat me up, and then by 8pm he threw an envelope with a cheque for the full amount at me and said if he ever saw me again he would kill me. 10/10 would recommend.

Watch every single penny of cashflow! I really appreciate that lesson. I was lucky to learn it early on with much smaller amounts. Certainly if you give someone an inch they will take a mile. Sounds like the people who bought the business were taking all the money out of the company to finance lavish lifestyles and weren't doing the work, then started a fire sale on assets to cover for the cashflow shortfall and then the whole thing collapsed like a house of cards. People can't seem to grasp the fact that no matter how much money you make you still need to work and fight for every penny you earn!

I testified in behalf of an Insurance claimant in a very large art loss Arbitration case. Our side prevailed, and the Insurer had to payout fully, but it took around two years to finish up.. I feel your pain.

Rob's company kept the brand and the marketing but funneled customer leads to a 3rd party to actually fulfill the rentals. That company was supposed to pay a commission to Rob's company for every rental, they didn't. There was also some personal bad blood where Rob had to floor a couple rental vehicles for some high profile customers when the fulfillment company wasn't stepping up. Now Rob is back in the Marketing and Fulfillment business.
