I keep my planner simple too. But I totally enjoy a splash of color. It's pleasing to my eyes. Yours is simple and yet pretty.

Im just the opposite I think. When I first started planning was during the Kikki K craze, just before Happy Planner debuted. I went out and spent prolly about 1,000.00 over 6 months on planners, extras and stickers. I didn’t like ANY of it. I kept trying different things but the washi snd stickers made the planner look “dirty” to me:(. I was in planner hell. I discovered I’m a “minimalist” and clean pages, lines, covers, etc are more inspiring to me. Having said that I thoroughly enjoy watching you creative ladies decorate your planners. 😊I wish my mind would allow it.

Yes, a planner must be inviting. To me that means washi tape, highlighting and a few stickers. These things add to the function. ❤😊

I have to admit, if it's not pretty, I am not drawn to my planner. It's also my craft outlet when I don't have the time to craft so it serves two things for me.

I agree. I can't function and won't go near my planner if it is not the least bit aesthetically pleasing.

OK, that's one beautiful weekly set-up🌹! I'm sticking with the Hobo Weeks (Mega) also, but mine is for planning and memory-keeping (since it "has it all"). I have an A6 pocket TN for EDC (Dailies, notes, reminders for weekly & monthly, since the calendars are so small); a Half Letter disc bound is for Home Mgmt, Values and Goals. There are also journals, but that's another post. Agree about the deco - when I went purely functional last year, I either 1)got bored or 2) ignored it. Just a little Tombow, washi &/or a few stickers and we're good to go! BTW, what's the highlighter you used on the week dates? My pinks are all washed out and that color is so pretty. TFS!

A planner needs to be "attractive". So yes, a planner needs a bit of decor imo, however minor that might be. I love your icon stickers. Thinking of making some myself. Out of curiosity: Do you also use a planner for financial planning? If so, do you use icons for that, too?

I have been using mainly digital tools for finances but toying with the idea of making this physical.

@@PlanningAnnie I combine the two. I use a physical monthly calendar to mark a) any upcoming bills due b) any upcoming expenses like my podiatrist I pay cash c) any events and appointments that have expenses attached (e.g. I use public transportation to get to my eye doctor. The train ticket is an expense related to the appointment). And I also mark other due dates like my deadline for my tax report. I love to use icons in my calendars. My budget, an overview and goals of my sinking funds and any analysis are in Excel. For my expense tracker I use an accounting software. As someone who worked in accounting several years I'm very fast at entering data and it is categorized at the same time.
