For anyone curious about gloom weapons, always fuse gloom weapons to other weapons. It removes the downside and gives a huge damage buff.

To be fair, this isn't really 'breaking' the game. The bosses here are the same ones you WOULD fight in the dungeons around the world when you're doing the main story quests, so the devs knew some people would try to rush the final boss and made sure they still get to/have to fight all the bosses.

If only its bosses weren't horribly disappointing, aside from ghoma, the final boss is literally fighting a slightly different version of a mini-boss strewn throughout the game. and then the final phase being a reskin of colgera but bigger is just kinda sad. the game was fun but it never had anything that was kept the hype going on, as the starter island is literally the peak of the gameplay

@@destroyer4929 that's the final phase, it doesn't fight back in a way that can affect you. However phase 2 is just ads and phase 3 is just projectiles on his attacks, which is so lazy and disappointing, atleast the first two phases of calamity Ganon is a unique fight

1:36:59 is really funny if you imagine what Spiff's saying as Link's internal monologue. In the canon of this run Link woke up, zipped around the sky island for a while, dove into a pit, fought a fuckton of dudes, and then got flung up into the sky with dragons he's never seen.

I can’t believe Spigg called Colgera Colgate. I thought I was weird for thinking that. Also did you know that when fighting Colgate, you can wait for it to shoot the spikes on the top of its weakspots, at which you can then dive bomb through its body. Never forget your body is a weapon

Spiff is one of the youtubers where he can upload anything and I'll watch it. I've never watched a Zelda video ever yet now I'm watching this one after the squaky hammer saga. he also just plays heavily underrated game. I FREAKED when I saw him upload At Dead of Night I thought it never got enough attention and same with Fears to Fathom. But stuff like Zelda and It Steals are from what I would've seen on any other thumbnail as uninteresting looking idk Spiff teach us your ways

I think the devs did a really good job of making the final boss run extremely difficult to do immediately when compared to the final boss run of BotW. The entire sequence is so much longer, the bosses are generally harder(especially Queen Gibdo without good elemental items on hand), and to top it all off almost all the damage removes hearts permanently so you can't just stuff your face with apples to tank it. Of course, people will still do it, but accomplishing it now feels so much more impressive

I think it’s also interesting that so much of the difficulty comes from a lack of knowledge you gain from playing normally. Dealing with all these bosses is easy, _when you know how._ Mostly because of the way different enemies interact with different elements and mechanics that you only learn when you’ve actually PLAYED THE GAME. And idk I just think that’s neat.

Fun fact: Probably the only reason he survived at 2:38 is because BotW and TotK have an anti-frustration feature where, as long as you’re at full health (having your max HP decreased by gloom but with all your remaining hearts full doesn’t count as being at full health) and not in Master Mode when an enemy attacks you, the hit can’t do anything more than bring you down to a quarter of a heart. I believe this also applies to boss attacks, but not big environmental damage like fall damage and lightning.

In TOTK at least, not sure about BOTW, the mercy quarter-heart doesn't work if the attack deals more than like 5 hearts overkill.

I went to the exact same place honestly, I was like ‘man there’s gotta be some sick rewards past this Lynel guy’, so after I killed it I was just going deeper and deeper, and I just never put together it was the final boss until the final few drops. I decided not to ruin the story for myself, but at least I got some sick enemy materials out of it, and my first Gloom Spear from down there is displayed in my house lmao

Agh, I never comment but seeing that this video has the lowest amount of views on your channel for months, I feel I need to. This video is one of my favorites that you have uploaded. Reminds me when I played Half Life (the original one) for the first time. I met that tentacle monster which smashes & whoops you with its tentacles (surprising I know). It doesn't seem like a hard monster, sure, but I WAS ON NEARLY 1 HEALTH. I ended up having to dodge ALL of its attacks essentially doing a no-hit encounter. I even figured out that some weapons temporarily stuns it, which is apparently a fact known by few. And before you asked, yes I did not know cheats existed.

Yeah compared to the other Zelda I would totally agree. From simply a story perspective, I actually really liked Skyward Sword, for how well it sets up the rest of the series, and how badass Demise looks. From a story perspective this one is crazy, you catch Zelda out of the sky and walk with her in your arms. So cool. Also I like that Zelda actually fucking does something for once, she’s like half of the protagonist

There was a funny oversight with the Ganon fight. You can autobuild a wall-mounted AFK Ganon killing laser turret. The only issue is the need for indestructible blocks only found in one of the temples (I forget which one exactly). That way you don't get hit, and it's made super easy.
