How I Became a BTS ARMY! 

The army saying “you find BTS when you need them the most” could not be more true. I was first introduced to BTS when I was 16, my mother overdosed and me and my siblings were put into foster care. I was separated from all of my family and friends and taken across the country to live with strangers. Everyday was a living hell that I didn’t want to be in anymore. Everyday suicide was looking like a better option. Then one day I was scrolling through RU-vid and saw a video, BTS Mic Drop. I used to make fun of people who liked kpop and said their fans were just a bunch of crazy fangirls💀 started to learn more about them as people and the positive energy kept me going, it was like a distraction from real life. Their music and positive message of loving yourself, their stories of past struggles, and their hilarious personalities really comforted me long term, it stuck with me. Now I’m 19 and just got out of the system and I’m slowly getting my shit together. Thank you BTS, I genuinely don’t know if I’d still be here without that support I needed at that period of my life.

I'm 60, Army since 2013. I have liked lots of groups/singers in my life, but nothing like I love BTS. The songs, the lyrics, the charisma, the humbleness, the storyline, the sharing of themselves, the sheer talent in this one group is like nothing I've seen before. Separately, they are each very good, but together they are fabulous. They called it destiny, and I think I agree.

U feel me right? From first time I even don’t know about K-pop, I mean I heard about it but never want to hear deeply about that. But some of my friends always and always talk about How they start Curious about BTS and about their music, their journery etc And one day my friend who trough some down mental problem, she broken heart and crying alot about it.. she suddenly came with smile like a new person, and she start tell me about BTS and their song.. she said “this Boygroup help me to find my happyness back, my hope to keep strong and stop crying and whining..” I just wondering How K-pop things can make my friend like change just in one nigt.. She talk to me that BTS’s songs talk to her, she watch all their videos on youtube and more and more falling for their stories.. And yeah finally, I start to curious about BTS too. I find that they are not just a Kpop musicians but more like spiritual artist, if you know what I mean. They are not just singing but sharing, sharing their story and sharing their capability to healing and give people “understanding” feel.. And of course not only me, but lot of people say the same, people who coinsidence Falling in love with BTS.. I try to listening other group too but I don’t know just feel so different.. I’m not talk about melody, beat, outfit, visuals or something.. but they had a point, a message, a charisma to make people feelin’ their music, their lyrics and slowly make people addicted and falling in love with them.

Last year when my dad passed away, I just broke down... A 42 year old mother (of two lovely BTS loving daughters), they introduced me to BTS.. After almost 2 months I showed some emotion when I heard Spring Day! BTS found me just when I needed them the most! Oh, I get ridiculed a lot for that but I don't care! Even my husband and my 65 year old mother is a BTS fan! One big Purple Family here 😍! We 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜BTS

How I wished that I've found BTS during my younger years..my life would've been more meaningful and positive. No self destruction, negative self talk and begging for other's approval..But regardless, I'm almost 30 now, (same as Jin's age actually) I found BTS during a difficult time in my life and I'll forever thank myself for letting them in it.

im an ARMY since 2014, i adored them so much from the visuals, choreos, vocals and especially their attitudes. however since I've gone through a phase where everything around me was black and my grandfather died I somehow put me being an ARMY aside. i was so depressed that time and lost. and then came 2017, i began listening to their songs and i was somehow content with that, i love their songs and it at least gave me escape from the pain i was experiencing. then time passed, LY series came, and dem they hit me, LY Answer, specifically the songs Love Myself and Epiphany made a great change in me. I could say that they were the ones that helped me to fix myself and love myself for who i was, what i have, and everything else in life. I love these boys so much now that I can't even go through a day without listening to their songs, whether from the 2Cool4Skool to the MOTS7. they changed me and brought out the best of me, and I'll always be grateful for that. each of them made me happy in my bluest days and I'm just thankful and love them even more. I'm glad I found them again that time. I really am.💖

I fell into this BTS rabbit hole/sinkhole in 2018. I spent a lot of sleepless nights watching MVs, live performances, almost all episodes of Run and all 4 BVs. I like to watch the MVs and reactions to the video too.TBH, you are one of the top 5 reactors I really admire. There's no one else like BTS. BTW ARMYs can be sometimes so demanding hahaha but you nice...keep going ! jimin's words :)

Yeah..BTS gave me new light and hope in life ..inspires me to move forward and forgive my self, accept my self and learn from my mistakes..accept that the world isn't perfect, full of chaos, hate, inequality, judgement, shallow thinker and corrupt mindset..but we can do better than that, we should try to make a difference.. we just have to start in oneself and be a good example to others..i thank them over and over again for being the group that impacted peoples lives profoundly.. i found them through a friend 4 years ago but never fully got into them I only listened to 2 songs for awhile Then 3 months ago when I got back from Montana, I had that terrible flu and was in a dark spot with myself (still am) and so while I was sick and crying in pain in my couch (where I stayed for 2 weeks) I can’t remember how or why but I just started listening to bts and I’ve been obsessed since And honestly they’re helping me love myself and figure out myself and encouraging me to fight for my dream in a band or making any type of music.

Loved this video! Was my journey last year when my daughter introduced me to them. Map of the Soul 7 was the first hard copy of an album I had bought since 2010, which was Avenged Sevenfold. The night I found BTS I was depressed looking for a song to dedicate to my late father that is when Spring Day popped up then Stigma and from there I binge watched the rest of the night. I cried, I laughed, I found comfort with these seven young men who relit a flame for music and eased the pain in my heart. When I was in therapy for my depression one of the things I learned was to look for a light no matter how dark my day seemed, on that day BTS was that light. They continue to shine on all of us, giving us hope and reminding us we are not alone. BTS are more than singers, rappers or dancers, they are a positive force in a dark world. Discovered BTS during the pandemic. Been living alone, on lockdown, away from my family for 6months. Very prone to depression and my mental state would have collapsed if i have not laughed, cried and awed with BTS. Didn't know their message would hit so deep as loving myself since i have been a pleaser all my life. And now, i feel like i belong somehow, with the Army family. Congrats! I've only seen a couple of your reactions but I think everyone can feel your sincerity and genuine interest for the boys. And now we're fam. As for the Grammys, we share the same opinion. Love and greetings from Germany💜

I'm the kind of person who keeps things bottled up, and it's hard for me to talk to people because of my anxiety. I try to help everyone but I couldn't help myself. And no one noticed a thing. Not my family who yell and emotionally guilt-trip me every day. Not my friends who used to make fun of me for being quiet and pushing me to do things that caused panic attacks. Then I found BTS. They walked right into my heart after I opened up. At first, I listened to a family member who made fun of them constantly. The song that made me gravitate toward them was Spring Day. Then Idol. Then Fake Love. It was all downhill after that. Their message of self-love, their lyrics that speak of truth, how much I can relate to them, the laughter I hadn't genuinely brought out in months finally truly coming out at their hilarious personalities. I can't say I love myself yet. But I am getting myself together, getting my life back together now, and it's all thanks to them. I cut off those toxic friends, I didn't just let my anxiety and depression control me anymore. I'm not anywhere close to getting rid of it, but I am getting myself together and I have no one to thank but BTS for offering me a hand to pull myself out.

I found BTS when I was 18. I was still going through depression at that age. I started having depression at age 13. I was bullied a lot and I was easily hurt which led to my insecurity and overthinking. I met BTS at the perfect time. I was in my second year of college. I practically tried to waste my life through drinking and smoking. I thought, "Why do it in one go when you can slowly die by wasting your life via drinking and smoking?" I've had attempts before but I always seem to back out. It was April of 2018 when I found them and I guess they practically saved me from drowning myself with alcohol. Having BTS in my life lessened the pain of my past and they helped me with my depression.

I was going through depression i was really bad and when I started listening to BTS songs I felt so different it was like they knew my story and they were talking to me. I don't even know how to describe how much they helped me emotionally I just love them so much.

Speak facts, and louder for the ones in the back! So awesome that you're able to capture your journey. My journey was quite similar, watching YT and reactions. Went into the rabbit hole last year without knowing what was happening. I came across their performance one Sunday morning and it was over.. but yet, it's just the beginning.

BTS has literally kept me sane during these few months. BTS finds you when you need them. Just a week after I discovered them my granddad ended up in hospital for a week after a heart attack. My anxiety went to the roof since he wasn’t allowed any visitors due to Covid 19. They kept me going and sane and they still do. If it wasn’t for them I don’t know what I would do!

I'm 50. My teen daughter was passing throu a very hard time in her life and BTS helped her get out of it... I got into trying to figure them out against my stupid prejudice for the unknown, the not-understanding languange, make up guys etc, and felt absolutely and deeply in love with them. Their vibe, their message, their attitute - what's NOT to love? Today, my daughter and I are together learning Korean, look forward to concert dates in Chile, follow news, releases and have the best of times together!
