Good stuff, i think to take it a step further, when deciding on threshold for classification if you can estimate the costs of true positive, false positive, etc, you can make a cost matrix, which does a great job of connecting the models predictions to the business impact. Selfish question: do you think you can do a video on how data scientists can describe their impact on resumes? I think this is a tough selling skill to learn because a lot of projects takes months or even years before the operational impact on the business is made.

Great input :) On your question, there’s a video I created about detailing your project on resume. Here’s the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_HRMJF87pH8.html

Bro I thought you had 0.5 or below 2.5. You have 3 gpa and you say it is low :D, Ithink this summarizes the situaiton. Anyway, congrats on ur new job!

Well I think it depends on the company and person. My GPA 3.09 is actually considered low for grad schools and many entry level pos. I had a grad officer tell me that it’s too low, and Nielsen reject me because it didn’t meet their minimum requirement of 3.2 GPA. Numbers aside, the point of the video is to let people know that GPA regardless of how high or low, is arbitrary. It boils down to your culture fit, willingness to learn, experience you cultivate, and some luck.

As startup once told me, “we don’t care what you use as long as you get the job done.” I’d say any tool is fine, as long as you. But if you are looking to get hirable, Python/R/SQL/any DB/Jupiter Notebook should alone cover 80 to 90% of what you will be doing on a day to day basis for the job.
