That makes no sense, PHd's take a minimum of 5 years for medicine. Undergrad at minimum is 3 years 1.5years for major Then PHd another 5+ years means. 18+3+1+5= 27... So she cannot be a doctor rn

@@LunaVanila Some people manage to graduate with 16 (but I think that's because some schools make mistakes when it comes to allocating students (don't ask me how). I had a classmate who could have graduated at 16 if she had been more dedicated to her studies, but she ended up repeating 2 years in a row... I graduated at 17 (but I don't think that's that rare).

it isn’t a shortcut, in most US colleges you’d have to get a undergrad degree and then go to med school but there are places where you can go directly to med school, without a previous major, it isn’t a shortcut, it just means that different countries have different rules, and you could graduate in six years
Same here in the philippines. You have to do pre-med for four years and graduate around age 22-23 and take med after that and graduate around 28 or 27 idk how this person is a doctor at 24
Go take your degree in middle eastern nations or some European nations, they have 6 year system, no bullshit pre and med just full med and you get your license

at 17 I was homeless. at 22 I was told to care for my mother and leave school. I'm now 26 who dreamed to be a doctor... I have nothing. hopefully, I will start university before I'm 30! will I accomplish something in life? who knows, but I won't give up. I want to study! it's my dream to go to university like the rest.

In the US you need to have a bachelors degree to apply to medical school. A bachelor’s degree usually takes 3-4 years after high school and then medical school is another 4 years + 3 years (at least) of residency. You have to pass 3 licensing exams to become a physician here and you need over 15,000 clinical hours

I knew a very dedicated student who started college 16, went directly into a 6 year pre-med/medical school program, finished in 5 (finished pre-med a year early), matched into his dream ortho residency (four months of general surgery, a month of motor, then the rest of the year beginning ortho with trauma patients, after that, 4 years of ortho moving from one hospital to the next and with them one sub-specialty to the next.) At 25 (almost 26), he had become an orthopaedic surgeon, but he barely remembered his family, he struggled with internal demons, he had no friends outside of support systems built entirely for work and study, he had never even went on a date, by 25, he’d seen more pain, suffering, death and sadness than most people do in a lifetime, all while being forced to deal with his mental health struggles alone out of fear of being deemed unfit to practice and having all his work go to waste, he barely ever truly laughed, yet he put on a fake smile every day. He’s in his 30s now, single father, his daughter just turned 8, he took a step back from work and found peace and balance, now he can live for himself while caring deeply for family and his field. His daughter wants to become a roboticist, I guess taking on challenges runs in the family. He’s never said he regrets it, but I know he wouldn’t want his daughter to have to go through the same struggles.

I did the same in high school. I knew before high school that if I started a relationship before graduation, I'd find some way to screw up and be forced to drop out. So I played the smart move by not pursuing love until I earned my diploma. Respect to this woman and every other person who did the same.

Most of us complete MBBS at that age..like who pass continuously at med school for 5 yrs including 1 year of complete internship. It's a common thing in asia. Some even get their 1st born during those years and still completed MBBS at 24yrs. Like those who gets married early though it's slightly rare to get married while attending med school.

In India, u can enter med schl right after completing high school and passing the Neet exam, so its common for people to become doctor around 24 - 25 years of age But i think its different in other countries.....
Basically she decided she wanted to learn Spanish so she decided to learn on duo lingo but she kinda got bored and decided to stop but duo decide to come to her house and he ate half her knee and she was rushed to the emergency room and then she realised she wanted to become a doctor 😊❤

I am glad some people made it in their 20s but Don't look at this to set your own timelines or feel like you aren't successful in whatever you Do. Your life and your circumstances build your timeline and while we can celebrate someone young achieving their goals but we need to celebrate that 50 year old doctor who went from a mechanic to a surgeon too.

This. I wish more people realized this. Being in university/college/med school and actually finishing your degree is often about a certain type of privilege, regardless where you're from. For as many graduates there are, there are equally as many who might have also easily been in that position, had they had the resources and support system for it. It's mostly not parties and dating that stand in your way, it's the money that often makes a difference between the person who is gonna get a diploma in higher education and the person who won't.
@Flora I knew someone who went to school to be a doctor. She basically lived in her car and penny pinched. And she still achieved her dream. She had to take out loans and is paying them back but she said she never regrets the struggle to achieve her dream. Even without lots of money she made it. She's a pediatrician. Grit also plays a big factor.
@@UsrNmTkn I understand that loans can be taken in such cases, but at the same time, there are different rules for different countries. Where I come from, student loans don't exist and if you want to take out an 'average" loan, you have to provide proof of a stable income so, well, the bank can also have that security that you will pay back the money that you owe. One could say that the parents could take out that loan, but it's redundant because if the parents don't have enough money to find you through university/college, it's highly likely they also won't qualify for a loan. I understand what you mean, but I also stand by my statement that money is actually the biggest factor in being able to get higher education. I have, unfortunately, learned through experience that, sometimes and regardless of how many times you've tried to come up with one, there truly is no solution.
In Switzerland you have 6 years of studies to be generalist then do 6 year to be a specialist :) No short cut I'm almost 18 and did not do short-cut (did all my school to go to university) I will be a full psychiatrist for children at 30 Love my life 🥲
In Germany it's the same, to be a specialist you require at least 12 years. I'm almost 17 now and mentally getting ready for that. I often think that to be a generalist and work in a hospital is much easier. It's interesting for me, can you in Switzerland live on your own studying 6 years to be a specialist after you became generalist? Btw I don't even live in EU, but I hope I won't die of lack of sleep while studying 🥲

What they don’t tell u is , a lot of American doctors are money grubbers and are purely our for profit. They will Do most any procedure and That’s why other countries may utilize American doctor’s. European doctor’s are head and shoulder above American doctors. That’s why it takes so long to be a doctor elsewhere.
If anyone thinks that they’re too “old”, then I suggest you start believing in yourself. I’m 27 and will be starting my OT degree this Sept. Once I qualify, I plan to move to Aus. You are never late to the game. Reason WHY I’m pursuing this now is because I never knew what to do. Living with a narc family pushed me to do this and also I feel a million times confident/experienced (job wise) to be able to take this on, compared to when I was 18 and roaming around like a stray cat, lmfao.

Becoming a doctor ain't easy so you need A LOT of focus and dating someone MIGHT take your focus off those studies so she didn't focus on anything but her path to become a doctor. That's actually impressive as it's really difficult to stay focused, well at least for me lol
It doesn’t matter when you start, I am 27 and considering leaving nursing to study medicine because it’s always been my passion and only love. Just find ways to achieve your goals, it’s never too early or too late.
