f1 needs a safety rating just like acc or iRacing so fair players get to play with fair ones and toxic players can take each other. Otherwise f1 online is nearly impossible to play without raging

i did not expect to get emotionally invested in someone else's 5 lap public lobby race but somehow that is exactly what happened

The most powerful thing you can do in an open lobby is turn off the racing line because apparently no one can drive without it. No offence to anyone reading this who uses the line

They should adopt a “skillrating” similar to iracing or asetto. Crash=points taken. The lower your point, the worse lobbies you get in to. It’s a disaster

We used to make races like this on Gran Turismo, but on purpose. Get as many cars as you can on the narrowest street circuit, turn off damage, turn on boost for slower cars. It was carnage, great fun

Love this video, just now popped up on my RU-vid, subscribed. Sadly this type of toxicity is what’s stopped me racing online in lobbies. Luckily I have some irl friends who after also getting fed up with it, decided to just race among ourselves, creating a league and chipping in with a real trophy for the winner of each “season” I can’t help feeling in some ways we are missing out on meeting decent people, but in all honesty it’s been so much more enjoyable since we did this. There are still mistakes and crashes, none of us are super amazing at the game, and we will all trip up now and then, but at least when we do collide or crash we know it’s an honest mistake and not someone trolling or raging. We try to follow the rules, and race fair, and although it gets super competitive so far it’s never got nasty. There is nothing worse than being trolled or bullied off the track by idiots but also it’s not nice when much better drivers rage at you because of a simple mistake. I get it must be frustrating for superior drivers racing those who try to race fair but make mistakes, so I can’t see us leaving our own little league any time soon.

Best way to get rid of toxic players is to take away their tricks and outskill them. Usually my first way to ditch the toxic players in a racing game is to turn contact off. If they complain and ask why I turned off contact, id tell them "when the rest of the lobby learns how to drive a race car, and not bumper cars, then ill turn it back on". Usually most of the toxic people just leave at that point.
