Take a deep breath. I am thoroughly enjoying your videos. You are doing great because you are working on your finances and not being like a turtle hiding in your shell. You can only eat an elephant one bite at a time. It is very hard not to beat yourself up on finances. I know that in my own financial struggles. Would you like us to give you feedback? Or is there specific stuff we can help with? How about allowing us to have a Q&A sometime soon so we can see how we can help? One thing to bring you a sense of accomplish is to make a list of all the positive changes you've made to save money ... cutting out cleaning... nails... some subscriptions... add that amount of and see how good you are doing!!! Stay strong...

We had a similar experience and I was told that the warranty doesn’t transfer to the new home owner, only the original home owner that paid for the roof would be covered.

These insurance companies are something else. I’m having the same issue with them covering the roof. I agree it is so important to have an emergency fund or a savings of more than $1000 when purchasing a home. Great video

in florida a county code inspector has to inspect a roof also when its replaced. id try to pull documents from the permit to see who passed it for inspection within the county/city. if you have documentation that it passed code inspection then what does the insurance company have to say it was improperly installed. you might have to take it up with the city. get your own property assessor to come out and take a look at the roof, the insurance company might be full of it! we sued our HI and won.

i hate homeowners insurance. when you bought the house it was inspected right, so if an inspector signed off on it they should cover the roof! we had an issue with ours too with our roof in a brand new build. the builder didnt want to cover it said get w insurance and insurance didnt want to cover it, we had to fix it ourselves.

Sorry you are having trouble with the roof situation, that sounds like a nightmare. Thanks for sharing, as a good reminder to beef up emergency fund. I feel you on the heater, I had to break down and buy one too, as it's been below freezing temps all week and my office is frigid, I can't deal either. Hang in there, you are doing great!

Girl, I hate roofing contractors period. Most contractors are dishonest and roofing contractors, from my experience are the worst. They employ individuals who don't know what they are doing and yes they do provide warranty... If you can find them when you need them. They are known to close companies every few years and open new ones because they knpw they are doing a shitty job and that people would eventually come back to leverage the warranty. They say the roof is good for 15 years when in reality, you'll have to change it every 5 years because of poor workmanship. Good luck with that and hopefully that doesn't throw off your budget too much.

What is your budget planner? Also my house just flooded as well. Luckily it is a rental so we don’t have to pay for the damage other than to our items.

I am using the budget by paycheck workbook. It is by the Budget Mom or TBM.
