What I think can be made easier with the "foot the bill first" portion can be tracked in the form of "cash flow", like writing some form of credit and debit on the balance sheet. I personally do this to not complicate things.

Oh yeah, for iPhone users, you can automatically record your Apple Pay (double-click power button) transactions with Shortcuts. Definitely something that can be integrated with Notion too.

Hey Demi great video as usual. I just watched your videos on Wallet and this popped up. Any limitation or drawback in Wallet that made you to move to Notion..?

For me it was just so I don't have to maintain both a spreadsheet and a mobile app. The Wallet app helped tracked things on the go, while the spreadsheet allows me to analyse things clearly. Now it's all in one.

Hi Demi, thanks for this! Question - For example your explanation on fixed expenses. Instead of just one fixed amount, is there an option to see what’s inside the category? Like a dropdown list or something?

Hi Demi, I am in early 50s and trying for the first time to use a digital finance/expense tracker because I can't seem to keep track of my spendings (and therefore unable to plan properly for things like holidays, etc. I went inside Notion to try to do the the sheet in your video which has Monthly Utilization % but to no avail so I came back here. So it's in your Ultimate Notion Finance Tracker ($42.90) is that correct?

Hi Gabriel! It stands alone, that tab is more to track the due date but when the expense is paid for I record it like a normal transaction hence there's the Fixed Expense category!

@@DemiZhuang Thanks Demi, I think overall it’s a good dashboard :) just that for the situation when I pay with my card and friends paynow me, I think it’s still better to record it as a “income” to bank instead of a “transfer” from card to bank.

@@DemiZhuang I tried your method, let say I pay 50$ for a meal with my card, and my friend paynow me 10$, and I record as [card: -50] [card: -10 bank] = now my card would be -60. Technically the money didnt come from my card but from my friend. Am I doing it right? haha

Helloo, no, only for iPhone! For Samsung users can open the app and there is the dashboard shortcuts in Notion to add Income, expense and transfer quickly.

@@DemiZhuang thanks! love the transition for you from using 2 apps to using just one though, However for me, I only use excel so I didn’t want to switch it mid year too. Maybe at the start of next year perhaps 🤔 Anyways, good work on everything that’s happening. Really someone I look up to just because you’re so transparent and relatable to your audience.
