It's just think outside the box and seeing what works (I do the same thing in my job to get the exams I need *xray tech*) just takes time errors repeat and experience
Looks interesting. Could likely make a liontaur, sphinx, or chimera based on the design. Gotta still watch out for doorways, stairs, and escalators I bet.
These 4 Minutes were waaaay better than other 20+ minute Tutorials I have seen Amazing Work, I will definitely get that book, even though I'm not planning to make a centaur cosplay
Hey, I don’t know if I have ever even made a RU-vid comment before, but I follow you on twitter (fellow critter here!) and saw you’d mentioned you’ve been getting negative comments on this video recently, so I thought I’d come leave a comment too. Just wanted to tell you that I and many others think you’re a very talented creator, and I can definitely see the skill and effort that has gone into designing this. It’s a really lovely creation, and you should definitely be proud of it! Additionally, the way you explain things in your videos is really well-done and easy to follow. As someone with ADHD, following instructions is really difficult, but the way you break things down is incredibly effective. Anyway, I just wanted to make sure you knew you’re very talented, and both you and your work are appreciated!
Easy to mould, light weight and mechanically simple. I like it. On a side note I was worried you were going to 'hoof' your toes when you were showing the leg movement.
Read her pinned comment and... I don't get why people are saying it's weird? She's describing how she built a centaur costume, I mean, that's what the title says.
Because some people don't get why someone would spend so much time and effort into looking like a centaur. Idk I think its cool but some people just don't get it. A family member of mine thinks this kind of stuff is a waste of time unless someone was planning to make money off of it
Expanding foam is the greatest filler of all time. I used it a million years ago to fill my Tetsusaiga sword when I cosplayed Inuyasha a looooong time ago. Made it nice and light so I could swing it easily despite the size.
Incredible! :) this could work and help people in Comic con & Cosplay who want to look like centaur fairytale, warrior, league of legends, Pokemon warrior as well. Keep up the remarkable work Ginny Di :) .
If you're thinking that you don't cosplay, here's a story. I never thought I was into cosplaying either, until I went to my first Anime Convention. Literally everyone in there was in some form of amazing cosplay, and me looking down at my painfully normal boring clothes, I felt downright nude! It was like going to a costume party, but forgetting to bring a costume. That's how you get into cosplay. Conventions are basically huge costume parties and just as fun!
I saw on your recent video how much hate you got for this. I just wanted to say that I think some the the haters and bottom feeders are because you did something truly amazing! Jealousy and pettiness are easy with something thats never been done before. It takes much more energy and intelligence to render a nice compliment! Take it as praise that you were able to "wind people up" with your creativity and art!
I went into this thinking "I just want to see what it's about" and walked away from the video going "holy crap, I think I can do that". My mind is blown.
RU-vid algoritm coming your way. Amazing, I just can´t belive how you even study for this. So much hard work and hours put down into this, trully amazing!
I just appreciate how simple the engineering is, it makes some pretty complex looking movements but it all boils down to some fishing line and some clever use of PVC, very nice.
Oh man! This is beautiful! I thought when I first saw your original centaur cosplay video that this would be much more complex than what it actually is. In actuality it's simple yet elegant! And I love all the ease of life features that you thought of on top of everything else! This version itself feels like v3.0 or more, rather than v1.0! I'm so glad I backed your book and I can't wait to see how the new version will be!
The eyehooks to feed the fishing line through is rather genius. As someone that did theatre costuming for a couple seasons I really appreciate the ingenuity of craftsmanship in this to work around how it functions and how the character actor can be comfortable wearing this for a length of time. I know the video is 4 yrs old at this point but if nothing else it shows the usefulness of the construction holds. Well done.
This is really cool. Love how simple it is to make the legs move. I thought one would need complicated tech stuff for this, hidden in the inside, but this simple solution is so great!
Still truly one of the best feats of cosplay engineering I have ever seen. I'm still mesmerized every time I see your centaur cosplay in action and it's the build that got me interested in to your work. I can't wait to see your next project!
Everytime I walk into my plumbing supply store the owner asks me what I am working on this time. I think I would pay to see the look on his face if she told him a centaur.
Just watched your questions about pro cos play video. Thought I'd come here and bring some positivity because your centaur costume is legit af. Keep up the good work!
I just wanted to give you a HUGE thank you. Your video was an incredible help to me in making a walking centuar for my daughter for her high school musical. I love all of your work!
Girl, your ability to not only engineer a working model but make it look so gorgeous is so inspiring! Bucket list cosplay right there. Now first I need to learn how to do the basics like... sewing. ha.
The RU-vid algorithm sucks. The only reason I saw this video is because I went to your channel because I realized I hadn't seen anything from you in awhile. Now I see that I have missed several videos. Anyway, great video, great cosplay and very interesting mechanism
I’ve been waiting for this for at least a year/ year and a half and I’M SO EXCITED FOR THIS BOOK AND TO BE A CENTAUR GIRL THANK YOU GINNY I WILL NEVER STOP SUPPORTING YOU AND YOUR AMAZING WORK❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awesome design, and even though I know it's an older video, a little word of caution about the connection for the hooves. I can't tell if you're using those special nylon inserted locknuts that really lock in place, but if you do'nt please note that a repeated circular motion on that joint can cause the bolt and nut to unscrew themselves, potentially losing you a hoof.
beautiful! however i suggest looking up horse gaits, horses legs dont go down diagonally when they walk, only trotting :D it'll make the suit look more weighted and heavy :D
People give you shit for making these costumes? I can't see anything weird about making a costume like this? It's essentially like making a mermaid tail. Even if I don't cosplay myself, I still find it so awesome how clever this is. It looks quite convincing! Keep up the good work 😊
I’m one of those people that genuinely don’t understand cosplay but I also think a lot of it is really cool! This costume looks really awesome too. I’m all for new experiences and if I could pluck up enough courage I would totally want to go to a convention (or whatever they’re called idk) and meet some new people. 💕💕💕
I am so glad this came up in my recommended! I’ve been looking for an in-depth and easy to follow explanation on making centaur legs for ages. Thank you so much.
Had to come over and have a look after you mentioned it in your "questions about Professional Cosplay" video. As a tech. support provider in a film school who helps students with this kind of stuff all the time, I can say this is good stuff!
I've been entertaining a similar idea using a more complex skeletal structure to give greater flexibility through additional joints and, thus, a more realistic movement than most traditional centaur costumes that lack expensive mechanical and electrical components. It's interesting to see yours works so well and moves so fluidly, especially with the fishing line, since that's how I've been thinking of making it move! It's a lovely piece of artistic engineering. The bolted joints on the hooves are a new concept and intriguing. The entire thing must have taken months.
The hoof on a horse represents toes. that "knee" is actually the ankle. (same thing with cats and dogs, just replace hoof with paw.) The more you know.
if you ever made another, i think it would be so beautiful in brown and more realistic with leaves and pink flowers! but anyways, this is amazing. i’ve absolutely no comprehension of the mechanics of this so to me you’re like a genius and then you somehow manage to look so ethereal wearing it.
Simple and ingenious! I'm glad I watched it because I blinked and said "WUT," at the clip of you walking in the costume and that's what reeled me in. (Well, OK, that and you're adorable, too.) Well done!
I actually loved the centaurs in "Fantasia". I love how you explained how all the details of your centaur costume. It a gorgeous cosplay but wow is it complicated! You create amazing cosplays!
During your video I suddenly remembered the Centaurs in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys starring Kevin Sorbo :) you did a good job, inventive and its interesting how simple it really is and works!
I am so glad I watched your video. Your construction technique could be used for several costumes I have wanted to do but was stumped on construction that would be light weight and used readily available materials. I am inspired now. Thank you!!!
I don't cosplay and I don't know much about the world of cosplay but this appeared in my recommendations and I was intrigued by the title. I had never seen anything like this before and I was actually SHOCKED to see how the legs moved. You are awesome! Keep up the good work.
I've followed your videos for about a year, but just now discovered this informative video of great cosplay/costume-making. Great description of the process and details. Amazing job!!
Oh my god!! I literally have been wanting to create something like this since middle school!! I had no idea you could actually make it!! That is so amazing!!
Oh my gosh! I saw this on Pinterest because I was thinking of doing a modern (much loved) Sunflower! I gave up looking for a tutorial! I’m so happy you made a book!
