I Built This to Save my Back! - Lifting Beam
Some old clips of me putting together a lifting beam I made out of scrap metal. Use a D ring some 3/8 flat bar, and 600lbs lifting magnets. About 4ft wide.
I made this to save my back went lifting anything over 1/8” 4x8 steel sheet. Budget alternative if you don’t have a forklift. And doesn’t take too much space. Obviously I can pimp it out and add a electric winch to make the cherry picker go up and down faster but this is quick and simple and gets the job done.

Great set up , what I did for my shop hoist is replace the steel wheels with 8" rubber coated wheels make rolling around the shop floor way easier and quieter too , I installed a air over hyd long ram on the hoist no more hand pumping up the jack .

Love this channel. I’ve binge watching all of your videos. Never welded a thing together but that welding table video hooked me. Now I have a problem, tomorrow night I will have nothing left to watch in this channel.

Your climate is very different than here in Florida, but if your water table is causing moisture issues in your shop a holding tank will get rid of that problem. You only need one drain/fill hole in your water pan to pump water up to the table and gravity drain down to the holding tank. Nice vids as always

Awesome content. From our pov seems like you try and figure out problems and how you are going to build the project before starting on the physical parts. Seems like most people find the problem to late and comes up with a janky fix.

larger casters with bearings instead of bushings, and you're golden. i'd love to see you add a power pack to the hydraulics. nice build! 🙂

Ratha: A power pack would be very nice. An alternative, could be an air over conversion (like SWAG Offroad’s). Also, in addition to the wheels and bearings, add a removable handle/ push bar. v/r wh

Get an air over hydrolic cylinder for the engine hoist. Harbor freight

That’s a good idea. It’s even suggested on their website to be used on engine hoists
