In Wintertime I like to catch Bay Anchovies for my bait on Sabiki in Perdido Bay. The Anchovie’s Silver Stripe on their sides attract Specks and Redfish. But honestly, I just like to fish for Pompano year round :-)
My favorite bait is mullet, preferably live 4" to 6", but I've caught bull reds on cut mullet, and big specs on Walmart frozen finger mullet. Croaker is excellent, but not usually nettable.
Sometimes fishing is just about getting out and away from the mundane world (work) and getting out of ourselves. Maybe I can get up and have you take me and my father-in-law out...she's right! I miss my old boat "cirrhosis of the river" Have an awesome day & fish on!
You should come fish Okaloosa island pier. I have become great friends with your dad mike, he has tought me so much about tarpon fishing and helped me catch my first
Live mullet 3-5 inches for big trout, slot reds and a few more species and 6-10 inch mullet for tarpon, big jacks, shark,aj, snapper and ect.. thats my favorite bait but a close second would be shrimp
Croaker are good to eat , they dont get big but are wider than bream that people keep and clean . The best place is in the surf at night . Plus you have reds and whiting biting also.
Sorry just getting caught up on videos. Not meant to upset you but you look like you were having more fun back then. Sometimes you look stressed out. Believe me I get it!
Bait up a sabiki w/ summa that squid & exponentially duplicate your effort in 1/4 time. Pigfish are a little bit stronger than croakers imho but that croaky sound is definitely the dinner bell for every quality species, especially when you pop 'em on the hook once & awhile to get 'em croakin. Hook 'em by the anal fin to force them to swim down where biggest & best lurk. They'll catch u a fish or die tryin & won't even see it coming >;]
Best Fish pun. " I used to date a really cute girl but I Lobster and never flounder she ran away with some little shrimp and they drove off in his carp"
“Micro fishing” lol. I guess for a saltwater angler croaker and pinfish are. Am I the only one here using size 26-32 hooks catching 1.5” micro fish lol
