Space is an outlier. Unlike most hackers from the past, he never came clean fully until shown damning evidence of his cheating. Cheaters will try to lie their way out of certain situations, but almost all of them feel remorse for their actions. Not space. He doesn't care. All he cares about is the attention from the community.
I remember back when I first started playing the game on mobile, I didnt have a way to cheat, as the low end device I used could barely run the game itself. It was at least 8 months of terrible playing until I finally beat my first demon. The feeling of beating that was insane, and one thing I noticed is that, when I beat acu, I had the exact same reaction as I had way back then, that pure joy and sense of accomplishment after a long grind. Its a feeling that cheating can never give you, and once you cheat a level, the feeling of beating it legit sometime later will never feel as rewarding.
I can relate, I used to beat easy demons very frequently and I would react very excessively. I thought that with time and age my reactions would slowly become more calm, that wasn't the case. Although I am playing much harder levels like extreme demons, when I beat my first hard demon and especially Nine Circles about 2-3 years ago, my reaction was not any calmer LOL.
“The feeling of beating a level legit, is truly unrivalled” well said honestly, the feeling i got when i beat my hardest demons every time just made me outburst with joy, its such a good feeling, looking back, i created my acc with someone else’s save file cuz i lost my progress after resetting my ipad before accounts were a thing, i still feel bad for that but ever since then, all levels i beat, i did legit and i’m so glad I didn’t turn to cheating when like half of my friends did in lots of games cuz they got to annoyed at the game. I also did go back and rebeat the levels that were “completed” bcuz i felt bad. All in all, good video flub and glad you realized what horrible thing cheating is, props

You were pretty entertaining sometimes and i enjoyed your content except for the obviously faked content. Im happy you realise your mistakes and told us instead of others. I used to cheat when I was like 8-9, and then didn't stop until a couple years later. I have legitimately completed levels since, but I still have a weight on my back for cheating.

I truly needed to hear this. For the last I would say 4 months I have been going for deception dive and it has been absolutely miserable. It is way out of my skill level for now. But, I'm going to try to come back to the level when I'm good enough.
that level kinda sucks, from what i've heard (and using my eyes to see a showcase) the balancing is basically like insane demon first half, followed up by list demon gameplay for the last like 30%
There's been a couple times where i've considered cheating, especially when i was stuck with an easy demon as my hardest for a good month or two. But then i discovered what impact it makes when you simply push yourself forward, and try something you've not done before. I beat nine circles as my 4th demon just a few weeks ago, which was basically the first level that i ever tried using start positions in it to practice more effectively. nowadays i can beat an easy demon or two a day, and im happy with that.

i played waveclysm a few weeks ago and thought it was so funny how you went out of your way to make so many fake secret ways so nobody would find the real one, but I ended up beating it with the secret way in the end anyways. also i was actually impressed by your skill when i first started watching since I had little knowledge of what the hardest levels really were at the time, so i just thought anyone who could beat an insane demon or harder was a top player or something lol. also I wouldn't worry too much about there being more hackers in the community since the demon list team has gotten really good at detecting cheaters and they also work closely with people like figment (the person who made zbot)
My current hardest is Leyak. When I beat it i felt so acomplished because I have to play on a shitty mac computer that can barely run LDM on Leyak without lag. The feeling I got when I beat it? Well I've never felt that good while playing video games. As badly as I want to be good, I could never stoop so low and cheat. I believe there is only one way for people to return to the game after being caught: coming clean and not downplaying anything, as you did. Being honest is the only way to have a chance of coming back. Space can never come back because he didn't even feel bad about cheating his way to the top.
I used to play on mobile before getting it on PC and making my way up to beating some simple demons. I got into a cycle where i try to beat a level and i get like 60% and i say "I know i could beat this level if i really tried" and i just cheated like 15 levels with noclip. Not even to youtube just for my account. I took a big break but am now starting to play again and im actually rebeating those levels and harder ones. If your starting to cheat and see this comment, just stop while you can.
Well said on this topic that some of us had these moments on of doing and of how it'll go more on with the future of thia game. Cheating something is simply not the same of you wanting to feel that sense of approvement or accomplishment if you want to get good at the game, get views, and so on than doing it for real. Almost 7 years ago, I cheated my first 3 demons trying to impress my friends lol. Then they'd ask me to play a certain level I sucked at it, making it very obvious that I'd never have beaten those demons. (nowadays I've beaten those levels legit btw)

I never use cheats to look good I only use it for quality of life changes and for fun. Tbh it’s fun to speed hack a copy of bloodbath every once in a while
I never cheated, never even thought doing it. Then proceeded to legitimately play the game for the next 6 years, just to find out that the top 1 player hacked all of his completions. I was out there grinding and trying to beat everyone at the game even if it meant dethroning the top 1 player at the time. Of course it never happened and I released that I was competing against a hacker and a lot of other potential hackers. If you're new to the game, watch out, because you never know who might be cheating. All of that grind that you pour into the game can be crushed by a single hacker
Unless you're going for the spot of #1 player of all time I think this is a severe overstatement, especially considering it's a singleplayer game. You don't have to compete with anyone.

@@liternix you don't have to trust anyone if you don't want to. However, playing to outperform others (who might be illegitimate) is mentally draining and pointless. If you just play for fun or to achieve your own goals, you don't have to interfere with any (potential) hackers, especially at the stage where you're just starting out (which you nicely pointed out in your comment). So once again, I think what you're saying can only be applied in a scenario where you're actively competing to be the best player in the world and is therefore severely exaggerated for 99.9999% of us.
A friend of mine was a seasoned cheater in minecraft, so i tried to cheat too and was instantly caught. That was in 2017 and I dont think ive cheated in any video game since...
i can sort off relate, i made a bunch of straight fly levels, but most of them i made a secret way, but only the easy ones were legit, but now i dont cheat.
I also hacked a few levels in the past, but since then I was just beating levels legitimately, im being honest here. The weight of me hacking in the past really still holds on my back, and it kinda impacted my mental health in a negative way, so, it was a good riddance to stop What I did and started being legitimate… Never felt happier ever since.
hey flub I had the same thing too. So I hacked through a whole bunch of easy demons to look good in front of my friends but then it just didn't feel right and I had a lot of regret deep down inside. So I rebeat all of the levels I hacked, posted it on my channel and it feels much better now. I still have hacked completions on my channel like clubstep all coins, toe2 all coins and electrodynamix all coins using macros but I beat them legit before anyway. I like everything you said in this it makes 100% sense. The feeling is also so good like how I beat glorious fortress on my 60hz laptop today(actually all my completions are on my 60hz laptop lol)

Back years ago I beat some easy demons using hacks. Never uploaded any of those to my youtube, but I just hacked them for... I dunno, an ego boost? Now I'm actually beating all of them, at a good pace too.
I get entirely what you mean.. Back maybe 6-7 years ago, my friend was complaining about not being able to beat Clutterfunk, so I went and beat the level with noclip, to seem better than him, though in reality I struggled to beat Poltergeist... Fast forward to about 2 months ago, that same friend got me to reinstall the game for the first time since then, and I've been playing since. Yesterday, I beat both my first demon (though, arguably the second easiest), and Clutterfunk. Entirely legitimately. The feeling of being able to beat something I previous lied and cheated to beat is like no otherml.
As someone who uses speedhack and noclip for making sync and testing gameplay, megahack is so so so nice, my gameplay would never be nearly as good without it
Cheating is really demotivating. I used to cheat my completions way back and I regret it. I'm going after levels that I cheated back then and sometimes it just hits me like "Wow. The only way I could've beaten this is noclip". But it's not. People who see this, cheating doesnt just hurt the community, it hurts yourself and it's really demotivating. No matter how much you go through with this game, cheating will not help. It'll make the future worse for you
I did actually cheat CraZy as my first hard demon after i died on the last click. But i did go back a few months later after beating Windy Landscape and rebeat it
When I was new at the game (my hardest was like polargiest) I'd always go on noclip extremes and impossible levels and I was a big sirguiester fanboy and I used his icons and went on like "noclip death corridor" and I'd act like I was actually beating it, Man those were the good days.
I can relate. Sometimes I just feel like I'm never going to succeed because of my low skill. So, I faked beating Slaughterhouse then immediately felt guilty and deleted it, then I made an apology.
To be honest i only hacked 2 levels, which are Nine Circles and Lava Temple, because i was actually good enough to beat both levels but i was either impatient or had an unlucky amount of fails. (i literally had 4 ending deaths on NC back when it was my hardest). I do think a lot of hackers such as Andromeda or Xander had the same feeling when they decided to hack because those players are actually good at the game, they were just impatient
When i was younger i faked beating a bunch of insane and extreme demons, i never posted any faked videos but i felt so bad that i grinded bloodbath as a jump from acu to beat the hardest level i ever hacked, and i posted my whole journey to rebeat everything i hacked and honestly im glad i did, look at me now, i beat bloodlust like what the hell
I remember doing similar things. I wanted to seem good so hard that a noclipped about 20 demon levels and after i had a change of heart i deleted my stats and rebeat every single level i beat. Now my hardest is clubstep and Getting closer every single day to beating deadlocked
Ive only played on mobile and i plan on never getting megahack because that would show that it would be possible for me to hack, even if it makes my videos low quality and basic, ill still never get any hacking services

Im not cheating for a simple reason: You can cheat other people, but you can't cheat yourself. But once i had too much rage on a level that has a broken timing (due to very old level in 2.1), that i started noclip run of that, but in a middle i thought like "if other people suffering, i should too". Also i noclipped one level, but only because game crashed on normal completition a few minutes before i did that 💀
when i was in 4th grade like 8 years ago i told all my friends i beat bloodbath with 30 attempts and they all believed me so i deleted my account when the game got popular again and beat deadlocked for real for the first time last week

I remember the first time I cheated. I downloaded cheat engine and started slowing the game down to play hard levels. I also started no clipping levels. The first level being Bloodbath. I thought it would be so cool to say I beat the hardest level at the time. My brother who was the same age as me never really believed me no matter how hard I tried to convince him. And then I just went down the list of extremes, beating so many of the most popular levels. I even started going for easier levels just because it felt cool. Until I “beat” over 500 demons. At this point I realized that no one thought I was good. My own brother only saw me as a cheater and any time I legitimately beat a level he thought I cheated it. I don’t blame him, but it hurt nonetheless. Needless to say, I got bored. Tired of playing levels I didn’t like, and finding no satisfaction in the already completed levels I deemed fun. Every time I would log in I would be greeted by green check marks on almost every difficult extreme demon. I even started streaming, where my first ever viewer asked me to play his level. I did, sucked, and he called me out because he saw sonic wave and bloodbath completed. It hurt a lot. All of my progress was for nothing and I was stuck like this for ever. I came back to the game earlier this year. I wanted a fresh start by creating a new account, slightly varying my username. I’ve climbed up to halfway to my cheated account. I have 4 REAL extreme demon completions under my belt (all on my channel). I, for the first time in actual years, am having so much fun on the game. No more cheats, no more fake demons, just my skill, my improvements as a player and a person. If you want to cheat, just take my advice, no one will like you more. You won’t even like yourself.
I am not sure if its cheating but I beat Stigma by Neigefeu using speedhacks, how? The level lags so hard that when I turned on Force Smooth fix, it slows the game down.
I did the creator version of this. I would copy other peoples levels and upload them and claim them as my own cause I could never create as good as they did. Stopped doing that years ago though.
It’s literally so easy to deviate to the path of just hacking dude. Players will always be trying to push limits some way and the temptation is always going to be there. Me personally I still haven’t even gotten my hands on any sort of botting software yet just cause I don’t want it to be there tempting me. Anyone and everyone is suspect to becoming a hacker at any point and it’s always gonna be up to the community to catch these people. It’s like becoming a criminal imo. Anyone and everyone has the ability it’s just about when or if it happens at all.
I only cheated once because I was on a different acc, and I just used mega hack to beat all the main levels, except for demons, and I did beat all the main levels except for the demons, and I just didn't feel like doing it again
Thats why I dont watch top demon streamers or anything, I usually just watch people that i know if they get exposed for cheating I wouldn’t really care because I watch them for their personalities
