Just me cleaning my Beretta 92FS M9A1. Its the same method for the 96, the compact, the centurion and a bunch of other Beretta models. I always use Hoppes 9 products. I'm not sponsored by Hoppes I just love their products.

I’m considering an M9 as my first handgun so I appreciate this video, thanks!

It's a fantastic pistol. It's the first gun I ever purchased. I carry it every day for work. I 100% trust this gun with my life. You are gonna love it. Thanks for watching. 🤘

A 92X RDO G. would be a great first, it has changeable sights , where the M9. Does not. It also has an improved double action trigger from the factory.

I do the same after every trip to the range. Every once in a while I also like to get the ejector out and clean under there too. It’s amazing how much carbon gets in there. I also wear latex gloves. Anything that breaks up carbon can’t be good for things that are made of carbon 😂

You make a valid point about the carbon lol

I agree with you I take care of my stuff as well. I'm a newbie to firearms kinda. I have a 92x and I want one of those that pistols because they are beautiful but I would get bigger magazine release button maybe steel guild rod.

You have to take care of your stuff, no matter what it is but this is especially true for firearms. And you can't go wrong with a Beretta my friend. Beretta is my favorite firearms manufacturer. Thanks for watching.

I agree with your safety protocol and always knowing the condition of your firearms. However, over cleaning, can cause the same effect as excessive wear , a lite wipe down, inspection, and oiling of the rails is always a good idea. A lack of oil is the number one cause of premature wearing of the rails and parts , all moving parts should be oiled , a super thin coat of oil protects the finish of the firearms , keep them rails wet . Nice work Buddy 👍❤

I only use bore cleaner on the the bore. There are other cleaners for the rest of the gun that are less harsh, but you do you...

Yeah I mean it is called "bore" cleaner lol. I make sure I clean it off real good though and I don't leave behind any residue. I also use it to clean the pins on old video game cartridges. As long as you don't let it sit on the parts for extended periods of time, it will be fine. Thanks for watching!

Hoppes isn't exactly a harsh bore cleaner. SMH

I might make a short video on this because it’s going to make a lot of internet people mad. I’m a mechanical engineer and this goes against everything i was taught. Those PVD sand mags. I have two of them left fully loaded for 3 years. And placed in a Galco shoulder holster with the snaps. The springs wore out and the follower won’t lock back now. Also the springs are so loose that the inertia of the slide moving back on the last round flips the follower in odd positions that I actually had the mag stuck in my Wilson 92g centurion. Keep in mind: +5 wolf spring for 92 & +10 wolf spring 96(40 cal). That’s for both 10,13,&15 round mags. Pretty bummed out ☹️

That's a shame. Thankfully I haven't had any issues with mine. It's definitely something to keep an eye on though. Thanks for the heads up.

im a newbie,question. why didn't you oil the barrel on the outside aswell?
@thatfunkymonkey
@thatfunkymonkey 9 месяцев назад
Good questions, it's because of the open slide design. The barrel ends up getting lubricated when I wipe everything down with the field wipes at the end. On pistols with a closed slide I'll rub a little oil on the outside of the barrels. Thanks for watching.

I thought you were only supposed to run the barrel brush through 1 way. Not back and forth like you did.
@thatfunkymonkey
@thatfunkymonkey 7 месяцев назад
On some firearms this is true. If you have a high end precision firearm, typically you don't want to run the brush starting at the muzzle end because you could possibly damage the crown. In most cases, on normal firearms it's not going to make a difference. I try to always clean from the breach end anyway. And as long as you don't come all the way out of the barrel you should be fine pulling it back through. Thanks for watching.
