I wouldn't suggest soaking them, it tend to weaken the glue. While they are still wet after washing them, put maizena (corn flour) on them and place some toilet paper on the wet maizena (the toilet paper absorbs any leftover detergent, so no yellow marks). When it's dry, remove tissue, take an old soft toothbrush and brush the maizena off. (to wash I recommend green sunlight soap bar)
Thank you to the few who gave feedback... that it worked for them too. I am also motivated to try this now. Especially as it doesn't require anything that we don't have in our homes. Just wondering... what's the purpose of the tissue?
As long as you'd wish really, how long you soak your clothes. Could be 30 minutes, 2hrs etc. But if you soak for too long the insole will be destroyed over time
Hi, thanks again for the video. I just kindly would like to ask of how long you're going to soak them in detergent before scrubbing it? Then after scrubbing them how long will soak in water for rinsing?
Hi, the time in the detergents instructions. Could be an hour or two but don't do it for long. Rinsing doesn't need soaking, just rinse and put the paper towel when they are still very wet then place them out to dry
WOW !!! I just bumped into this video. Thank you so much for cleaning tip... I have a question do I need to allow them ( after putting the tissue paper) to dry under the sun or shade????
You can put them in the washer when they are in a bag. I do that sometimes. I hand washed because I wanted to share a way to clean your shoes if you don't own a washer. Hand washing is also gentle since you control the amount of force you use and can get rid of stains that the washer might not really remove. Thank you for watching 💙
wow! I wish I could upload a photo before and after! They aren’t perfect because I had some mystery orange stains on some spots of my shoes but they aren’t noticeable anymore! I had to make a mixture of detergent and Shout to get the tough spots off and after everything it still looked yellow. But I put the paper towels and placed it in the sun, and WOW! I don’t know how you figured this out, but this is great!
