In this video, I show how I created 14 serving trays for my family for Christmas presents. Each serving tray is unique and each one is a different color. Some even have objects in them such as golf tees, coffee beans, fishing lures, and sea shells.

The fact that you put this much time and effort into something you would just give away really says a lot about your character and I just wanna show big respect to you man! You clearly have your heart in the right place! Great job one the boards they were beautiful! I just got a mold and am nearly ready to take the plunge but I'm so indecisive.. I guess there is such as too many options! I agreed with your favorites they were particularly good, those darker grain woods man.. so nice!

I love how you incorporated items into the epoxy for a theme. I'm guessing they were based on each person's interest. I liked the beach one the best.

Not sure why you don’t have more subscribers cause I found this to be very helpful in learning how to create your own molds and the router sled. Saves me from buying more expensive gadgets. Al the boards look fantastic! Keep up the good work!

I have some wood and I am trying to keep the bark on it. But, maybe not? It's just going to be a barn door. I might try to just poly it and hope it holds! Just subscribed!!!! Thank you.

Thinking now that I will epoxy resin the bark on smaller creations, like towel racks, toilet paper holders,ECT...

Great video! Amazing boards. You are a patient man! I'm doing a serving board for my daughter and sitting on the fence about a small area of epoxy... I think I'll have a go at it after watching your video! Thanks.

Lol. Its funny bc I was going to comment saying I didn't LOVE all your color/ inserted item choices but they turned out great and my favorites were the green and sparkly white, the SAME two you mentioned. (Black and turquoise pretty sweet too!) The others were fine, and I'm sure the things you sealed in had meaning to the recipients, just not sure how appealing it is to be served food w fish hooks in tray lol. Nice job!

Question: what kind of epoxy? What was total volume used? Cost of materials?

Have you used various types of wood or besides walnut etc.....? I have limited selection available where I am.

This was the first time that I worked with walnut before. I don't have much experience working with various types of wood. I got the wood on sell online called Lumber Shack

I am new to this so this was basic and amazing! I understood everything you were talking about and liked the material that you used. I am about to build some molds that I got melamine for and this helped a lot! The one thing I do need to know is…… Where in the heck can I get one of those Router jigs! If you made it, do you have a video up for it? I loved all of it!
@workinwithwillis

Glad the video was helpful! The router jig is homemade and I don't have a video about it but im planning on making a video about it

What epoxy and colorant powders or alcohol inks did you use? I tried grabbing a few stills but couldn’t get enough resolution to figure out what brands they were. The results, gorgeous. The white nearly opaque with sparkles and the triangular highly grained wood was my favorite.

Very nice boards and great video. What type of router bit did you use to plane the boards?
@workinwithwillis

Glad you enjoyed the video! The router bit is a Bosch 3/4-in Carbide-Tipped Hinge Mortising Router Bit from Lowe's

Did you do more than 1 pour on each and how deep on each pour?
@workinwithwillis
@workinwithwillis 2 года назад
I used casting epoxy because it is cheaper than deep pour epoxy so I did multiple pours less than 0.5 in for each pour
