Also adding information about setting water heater bypass and valve setting for pump to accept water would complete the information. Filling the hot water heater and testing before lighting would be icing on the cake.
Agreed. It would be nice for an annotation to be added to the video for future viewers. We just purchased a 2022 Flagstaff 25BRDS, which is 99.9% identical to this Rockwood.
Thanks for the video! To avoid the spray when you took the filter canister out, you can open your faucet after turning the pump off to de pressurize the line.
Thank you so much! With your help I winterized my camper and now de-winterized it! I got my Rockwood the end of August last year and love it. I am looking forward to many adventures with my grandkids! I am excited about my first full season this year. Thank you again for helping me save money and providing me with step by step instructions!
This is one of the most informative and scrupulous videos I have reviewed on this subject. Thanks for the exceptional information, it has been most helpful for me. You explained all facets of what needed to be accomplished very well. The video showing items in detail was very well accomplished. Keep up the excellent work. Now I hope I recall everything you demonstrated, when I go and perform the effort.
The winterizing and de-winterizing videos are excellent, thanks for sharing your procedure and tips... just waiting on our 2509s to be delivered. Cheers 🍻
Quick tip. When changing the filter housing we take a small trash bag and slip over the filter housing and catch any over spray in the bag. Work a like a charm
Great videos. I am new to the RV world so seeing someone go through the detailed steps has been very helpful. I have the 2507S which has a large outdoor kitchen but the equipment inside is the same so I was able to follow the winterization video and next week will dewinterize. Thanks
Glad to help out. The large outdoor kitchen is nice, that is where we do most the cooking. Thank you for watch and commenting! Hope all goes well next week.
Very helpful video with good details for a newbie like me. It would be helpful to show draining after de-winterizing as one maintenance video talked about draining the low-point drain.
Thanks for the De - winterizing video ! Perfect . Like you I have a 2021 - but It’s a 2104S-W. Would love to have you do a session on “ Solar panels , adding more and maybe considering lithium batteries for more reserve “. For the 2014S , please . Dave , Seattle , WA
How about a video on the shower hot water recirculate system. Also do a video on which position all the valves should be in for winterizing and dewinterizing.
Thanks for the video! I'm going to be de-winterizing our new 25BDS (2507s) in a few days before our first camping trip next weekend. I assume you wouldn't worry about filling your hot water tank until you get to a campground?
Yes, you absolutely should. I had already started the winterizing of the camper before I decided to grab the camera and had already done that, but forgot to add it in the video. Thanks
Can you just use the city water hose or do you have to fill up the tank? When you use the city hose does it also run through that filter as it does if you’re using the holding tank?
I personally like to do them both. The main reason i do the fresh water tank is it was sitting unused for 6 months and I just like to insure it is clean for dry camping. They both go truough the filter so should be ok. Technically when you switch the valvue when winterizing it bypasses the city water line, so no real need to worry about that line, but it only takes an extra second and I have that peice of mind.
Thank you! We just picked up our 2104s on Saturday and are brand new at everything. Your help is appreciated! I didn’t know to do it through the tank. Do you then turn the heater on? Are there two switches in that cabinet to turn over. I truly appreciate your videos. We need all the help we can get. Thanks again!
@@Limerick1985 yes there are two swithes for the hot water heater. I didnt include it as I wait until we rrally want to use the hot water before filling it so the anodizing rod in the hot water heater last longer.
Did you do anything with the hot water tank? Drain it ? Im just trying to figure out my 2509s and I’m a little confused by some of this.. could you just drain all the water from all the lines before winter? I did notice it had a antifreeze I let by the city water hook up. I’ll check out your winterization video and see if I can answer my own questions thanks again really liking your content it’s very helpfull
When de-winterizing your camper it is up to you if you would like to do anything with the hot water heater. The only thing you have to do is open the cupboard to access your hot water heater and turn the switch on both the red water line and blue water line so that the switch is facing towards the hot water heater. I personally dont do this until my first trip that I am going to use the hot water heater. This way there is less breakdown and wear on the anodizing rod and hot water heater.
@@BassinNmore Well that's a good sign that you don't have any rodent issues - I know it's a sealed underbelly. Apparently some folks add to their winterizing process, putting out mousetraps and peppermint oil to repel mice during winterization
Hi, The white valve by the canister was turned toward the blue line went you winterized it. Do I need to turn it back for summer use or does it not matter? Thanks
I wait until I am actually going to use the hot water heater, usually the first trip out. Then I drain the water in the hot water heater after every trip to keep the tank nicer and I don't have to replace the anodizing rod so often.
No, I bypass the hot water heater before running the antifreeze through the lines during the winterization process, so there is really no need to. I also don't turn the bypass back on to the water heater until I need it to help with the break down of the water tank and anodizing rod.
Great video!! I made a winterization video for my old 2509s (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ChGqZSm8KEc.html) but never got around to creating a de-winterizing video. No need to after watching yours! We actually bought a 2020 2509s after our old one got damaged so this video is perfect for me!
Oh oops, I didn't add that part 😅, sorry. There are three doors just to the left of the control panel, open the one closest to the floor, and inside there are two valves, one on the blue line, and one on the red line, turn them both so that the valve handles are the same direction the the lines are running.
@@davidderoche6724 I turn them on my first camping trip. If I am dry camping I turn them before I leave the house and make sure it has water in it. If at full hook up I wait until I get on site and am setting up camp.
