Great video, Scott. I just bought a plane with a MGL iEFIS Challenger Lite. This was the best breakdown I have seen so far. Thank you! I subscribed so I could follow along with your build.
Hi good vid, I’m building the ch750 and have fitted out with all mgl gear including ibox and the ecb, the ecb is a good add in as it works like a breaker but with out the weight. You probably already know that if you go onto mgl Africa you can download all the full manuals that are really good and informative for mgl avionics Good luck with the build stay safe
not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you are bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all the new series on Instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my gf these days xD
I am building a similar plane , the STOL version, and considering MGL. One big question is the future of such company, located in a failed state, where are they going to get the next generation of engineers to take over. Africa seems to manufacture failed states, so it is not a one time deal. Will your avionics be orphaned in a few years as S. Africa slid down that slippery sloop. I still remember all the people, me included that supported Mandella, but lack the long range vision to see beyond him. Maybe Dynon will be a better choice?
Great video, I do like MGL's Radio Head with its easy to read channel numbers and its 16 second play back, for a dyslexic guy like me in busy airspace, I think it will be worth the extra money. One thing I've been trying to figure out is if from MGL main screen can radio frequency's be selected from the map like on a Dynon, I haven't found that in MGL documentation.
MGL... good choice with an ARDAC.....have fun Scotty sorting out the avionics. I've become brain dead and frustrated trying to work out all the avionics wiring for my full Dynon Package.
MGL has some great videos, such as ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RqmOXtiis2s.html As a complaint, you never got to what's in the title -- "How I decided on MGL Avionics"
Best bang for buck at the end of the day an simplicity of the install. Unfortunately when it comes to simple installation videos there is not much available. Plenty show capabilities but not the very basics. thanks
