I have no idea why the very end of the video is a blank screen, that's not what my video file has going on. Oh well, nothing important is missed. Thanks for all the love you leave on this video.
the dragoncrest greatshield talisman buffs by 20% while the +2 dragoncrest shield buffs by 17%, just to note to the people copying the build to go for the 20 and not 17 since the 3% could help but overall amazing video and thanks for the content man keep it up
Yep, maybe one of these days I'll make a habit of grabbing it. Though, I won't use it much anyway. I only go defensive when I'm learning a moveset and once I feel I know it better I go full offensive.
I agree. I still solod him. But honestly if the souls game with the most difficult bosses to solo didn't end with something this bullshit I would have been dissapointed.
This one is more difficult for me than Malenia. Maybe I'll just wait for them to fix the timing / hitbox on the infamous slashes. They keep staggering me after 10+ hours of practicing. Regardless, your positive energy is contagious. "Never get angry at a videogame". I tried, Josh, I tried.
Josh you truly have a gift for souls games you are the best man. I've never watched a streamer besides you and have watched you since day 1 on RU-vid me and my 8 year old son loves watching you. Keep doing what your doing man and I wish nothing but a successful journey for you .
I fought this guy for about 8 hours straight with pretty much the same strategy to your non-parry way but dual wielding the Grafted Blade Greatsword and normal Greatsword. I got him to around 20% health on my best attempt. No summons. Couldn't get it done. Before I went to bed I watched Asmongold kill him with a Fingerprint shield strategy just blocking everything. This morning I gave his strategy a try but with the Moore's Charge shield and Sword Lance, and about an hour and a half later I finally killed the bastard! It felt like a noob strategy but after wiping for so many hours I didn't care. I'll take the W however I could get it without using summons. Now I'm starting my poison perfumer build next playthrough!
@@AndrewAung1992 some of us just aren't that great and don't have the right builds. I know i didn't i tried fighting him with the ruins greatsword, visage shield, and bull-goat armor set. I was level 225 with max scadutree blessing and over level 80 in strength and vigor. Phase 1 is kinda fine. Phase 2 is where it all goes to hell. Fat rolling is not good, holy negates the shield, running from his levitating blast explosion thing is not effective, and running from the gravity rock hurl does not work at all. So i switched my armor around to have more holy resistance and medium weight load, put on the anti holy and non-physical damage negation talismans. Know what? After all of that i was still having a skill issue. So i summoned co op partners and it took like 10 tries. Still felt extreme satisfaction that it was over. I wanted to beat him my way first without looking at any guides or tips. So i did. Now watching this i know the cheese to stay close to him and almost always dodge left in phase 2. It shall help immensely in another playthrough
@@AndrewAung1992 i did get good. I switched up my build and called in help and beat the boss while still feeling satisfied. If I continued to run into the proverbial wall i would've ended up hating the boss and just being angry
Probably the worst boss in the game. It's the first time any souls that I need the necessity of changing my build. The very first time in any souls. I don't like this type of boss. Malenia was a cool boss fight with only one shit attack; in this boss the second phase is so fucking random.
@@ashishkebab7358 I have mixed feeling about this boss. I don't hate him because all his moves are readable and dodgeable, you just have to be extremely good. He could probably use a small nerf IMO for balance since he is just so much harder than all the other bosses. I hate bosses with artificial difficulty but this boss wasn't that. I know a lot of people love the Bayle fight but that's the fight I hated the most because it was a constant fight with the camera with him being all over the map and being unable to target his legs.
This helped me to watch. This boss has given me so much trouble. Haven’t watched the live yet so maybe you addressed it there but there is a talisman above the dragon crest shield +2 but I feel like I’ve seen you pick it up before in past playthroughs so if so disregard me.
Yeah, the Dragoncrest Greatshield talisman exists and I've gotten it before, I just rarely go out of my way to get it these days. I should grab it more often since it's just a small pathing change... Honestly I only grab the Dragoncrest Shield +2 because it's so close to the main path in Farum Azula.
@@theJOSHfeed I thought I’d seen you grab it in your earlier playthroughs. Not that you need it though haha. You are one of the top pve players in all of Elden ring imo. You inspired me to do a playthrough without summons and great runes to prove to myself I could. As cliche as it may sound your attitude and playthroughs have also helped me with my mental health and made me be better about committing to doing things and getting it done. I beat the dlc and am now gonna go back and do it more thoroughly and without summons/greatrunes.
Must be some streamer luck in there bro I tried to first build for like 2 hours and I could never get the massive blood proc like you lol. he always does the unparryable moves. I loved all of the game + the DLC but I'ma prob have to put it down until they change phase 2 or rework the boss. So unfun. Feel like they abandoned all their ideals when they made this boss lol
I feel the same way. I just "love" how in those guide videos the boss does the basics attacks for the entire fight. With me, he basically teleportes every 5 seconds with those massive AOE attacks and I have to chase him without ever hitting him.. but it's really okay.. he is destroying me in the process... why not make a mele boss who uses only ranged attacks that you cant doge... so much FUN!
Uh, yeah. We’re gonna need another play through………just sayin. And also THAT WAS F*CKING AMAZING. You saying ‘HOLD……HOLD………HOLD……..YEAH!!’ Was spine tingling!! I’m usually in a relaxed position while watching you play but as soon as you started saying that I sat right up with my iPad held firmly in both hands and had a wee seizure when you killed him!! lol. GOYG, GOY.
Awesome Fights! You are actually the real GOAT for me, since you not even do buffs etc. No 5 Minutes prepare, just get in, get a lovely drink and beat it! Thanks i learned some moves from watching you. 🤘
I used the large club at +25 with bleed affinity (was originally using heavy but changed it to bleed), a light load, 99 strength, 85 vigor and 40 endurance. I was level 190 (started as hero class). Also was using stamina focused crystal tears, don't know the names of them. And for talismans, I was using the two handed weapon one, crimson seed +1, dragoncrest greatshield and pearldrake +3. I beat him about half an hour ago after a total of 5 hours across 2 days.
Managed to beat Redahn after 80ish attempts. Using Blasphemous Blade Faith/Flame Build, "Flame Give Me Strength" Incant, Dragoncrest Shield, Shard of Alexander, Fire Scorpion Charm and Talisman of the dread. Mimic Tear +10, and lv19 Scadutree Blessings. And Damn those Scadutree blessings were a game changer.
I beat him with Fingerprint shield, and a great spear. aand mainly just block- Jabbed him while trying to not get guard broken from all his attacks Luckily he cant push me back when I'm shield jabbing
I used godskin peeler maxed out with a blood ash of war for well over 100 bleed and finger print sheild with talismans for damage negotiation and the blood talisman that raises damage when blood loss in vicinity. tree sentinel helm and body armor and the new greaves and gauntlets that give 2% dmg increase each for fun. the rest is. the rest is up to you. it was ro k solid. make sure stamina is always up, and just hold gaurd and poke at him.
so can you block all single sword swings with the parry shield? how about the double/cross swings (I thought I saw you parry one of the doubles..) thanks for the video!
I feel like this boss would be 10 times better if they toned down his second phase attacks. I never really get a chance to hit because I’m dodging a million times lol
PCR combines all souls boss mechanics. Dodging (duh), Running away, back stepping, repositioning, and jumping. You have to do all of these things in order to win. This mf DOES NOT STOP attacking
Nice job. I beat him with Guts Greatsword / Lions claw (very good ash for him) and the metorite greatsword (I only used the L2 to get close to him in stage 2 at the start, otherwise I used lionsclaw (GGS) or charge attacks (Meteor) after his gravity spin attack / big double slash at the end of his sweeping combo / combo where he jams his sword in the ground and does the AoE. If you que up that charged / lionsclaw immediately you can get it off and have time to dodge. L1 punishes for most everything else, or jump attacks (his lionsclaw / double slash to overhead slash combo). If i didnt think i had time for a charge i released early. I tested him with longshaft: you cab use the ash to through his AOEs into that punish. Stay up close to him at all times. His really nasty stuff gets used at range. I agree, roll to the side. Funnily enough, most of my rolls were opposite direction of yours. Also, remember your dodge won't go off until the button is released.
@theJOSHfeed oh thank you so much for the reply. This is shaping up to be a repeat of my 5 day attempt at nameless king. Haha congrats on beating him. Thanks for the video
Yep.., I tested it.. this guy is not only doing 2.5 times more damage than me who has 25 levels on him, but the boss has a totally different move set. Looking at this video and watching what happens to me fighting him it feels like two completely different games with the same cinematic filter :(
I like the boss fight, finally beat him after 60+ tries, then proceed to beat him with 2 other builds. I like the fight, no other soulborne boss ever give me that much of a problem like Radahn. But they need to tune down the light effect in 2nd phase because it tank my frame rate too much and it really difficult to see what going on.
yoooo thank you so much! was trying to keep distance on him and first time I tried going up close it made dodging so much easier for me and managed to finally defeat him :D))))
There's a rune arc active with Godrick's great rune which adds an effective 40 levels. This was not something I kept active during the fight though, since I died a lot lol
I wouldn't say nerf, but definitely an adjustment to visibility because of all the holy light everywhere. Aside from that, one of his attacks is nearly undodgeable unless you happen to be to his side, so that could use an adjustment. As far as his damage and health, I feel it's fine.
