Check out all the cool stuff we do at: tonejunkiestor... HW discusses building worship guitar tones by brightening the guitar and darkening delays and verbs on the Helix!
Honestly I would consider all tones after the 8 minute mark top-notch usable on a Sunday. These sound beautiful. Just one tip for those watching: in my experience human bodies in the congregation have a way of absorbing high-end frequencies, so for live use, dial in the delay and verb brighter than what’s comfortable in the headphones, especially if FOH has you going mono into the mix.
Great video! Sounds like Sunday morning to me! Before I started using reverb I used an L6 Echo Park set to 16th notes with the repeats between 60-70%. I'd set the mix around 25-30% and run it through the front of my amp (no fx loop). I still run my delay before the amp in my Helix every once in a while.

I moved over to Kemper about 2 years ago, but I will NEVER sell my echo park. Great little pedals.
It is weird you say that because even though the line 6 echo park is by the same brand as HX stomp/ Helix. The echo park sounds different … not a lot of people know That. That echo park from line 6 is truly different .
Since I bought some Tonematches (SOLD100 top), I like the Helix almost better than the Kemper. Especially the middle frequencies of the helix give me a good playing feel. No idea how HW does it, but the new cab files are great. In any case, big compliments to ToneJunkie TV for the great videos and the new sound in the Helix!
Like wise … the hx stomp and helix are pretty good sounding units. Don’t get on the hype for Another unit if you can get the same sounds. What really opens up the helix /hx stomp is getting IR cabs not just the amp IRs
I have the helix floor since it came out, and is until now that understand better some settings like Damping and the high cut in the delays and reverb.
How did you decide what BPM to use while building the delay stacks? When using 1/8 and 1/4 ect. your linked to the tap tempo. I only use milliseconds to set the delay time because it will stay the same regardless of the BPM. Just wondering how you got to 86 BPM?
One thing I have not seen nailed yet with all-in-one modeler solutions is the delay and verb before the amp and the saturation you get from that esp with some drive…. Even using kemper or HX stomp or fractal with a pedalboard in front of it we can get that sound, but once we go all-in it seems like it is just not the same, even with some of hislop’s own patches. Any idea why this is? My theory it is actually the outboard drives pushing the delay/verb level and for some reason we can’t quite duplicate that in modeling platforms, or no one has quite cracked it yet anyway.
Great video is there a cheaper helix I can buy that will give me all these worship sounds ? Love the evo swells. Like violin sounds Thinking $600 price range I see line 6 makes a $599 model. I want to download worship song patches that will work
HW...I have just started listening in. Do you do anything with the Pod Go in mind? My pedalboard is built around the Go and, based on some other guitar/tone RU-vid channels, the Go is starting to get a little more love. I checked your store but didn't see anything for the Go.
Hi, I am looking at buying line 6, and I would like to know a few thing before hands. I use 2 amps, Vox30 and Marshall, so do i still use the amp on helix board or run the pedals without amps in the board?
nice tones. but for me not very usable, i'm not a huge fan of all the delay in modern worship music, it's just over the top and for my style of playing, not great. Technical wise i'm a mix between Stevie Ray Vaughan and Frank Zappa, very viseral, so delay is not my friend hahaha
