Here I demonstrate various ways of setting the scriber point to what I believe to be within 0.002" 0.05 mm ( half the general engineering tolerance ) of desired dimension.

Thank you for demonstrating some of the small details of accurate machining which, while small, make a big difference in the accuracy of the final part as well as the ease of accomplishing the task.

Awesome instructional video. I am glad I came across it today. I have never had to scribe before, but I am sure you have likely covered something I need to know how to do in my shop. I am headed straight to your video list to see what you have covered. Thanks for the excellent videos :)

Hi Dave, great tutorial on a piece of kit that's as good today as it was 100 years ago........ and as a bonus, you never need to change the batteries! Cheers, Jon

Thanks Stuart, new camera and this is the reason I purchased it. First use was when I made the Wohlaupter boring head video so I could get close ups of the dial graduations. Regards.

Nice demo of a very versatile tool. I actually made a video a while back, but frustrated because I'm unable to upload due to a RU-vid problem. Trying to sort it out. 😊 Tc, Mike

Sorry to hear that Mike, YT can be a pain at times, give it another try. Perhaps try a different title of the video you want to upload. Make sure you don't click the box that says made for children. Thanks for watching. Regards.

Hi Dave Another useful video, seeing you use a connector and bolt made me think that this could also be used as a temporary machinists jack with the added bonus that you could lock it in place with a ‘T’ nut and if by chance you caught it with a drill or cutter all you have lost is a bolt.
@daveticehurst4191
@daveticehurst4191 2 года назад
Yes, absolutely Chris, those coupler nuts are a very hand thing to have in your bolts box. Thanks for watching. Regards.

Hello Craig, thanks for watching and hopefully subscribing. I am in Parafield Gardens in South Australia. If you can find time, in my shop tour of 1.5 hours I also tell my story of how I got all my English machinery out here to OZ. If you also watch my DoALL bandsaw chats you will hear about how I got to Oz in the first place. Regards..
