*TIME STAMPS* 3:48 "It sounds more like this" 5:12 "End of men, first of ten" 7:43 The pig squeal 8:04 The horse laugh 9:18 W-Wait, the scarecrow is breathing ?! 10:28 The chatters 10:52 "End of men, first of..." holy shit that voice is deep O_o 11:25 "See you in your nightmares" Oh ok, not so sure about going to sleep soon
I was legit horrified of fiddlesticks. But I watched this and heard his real voice and I'm just imagining a casual formal fiddlesticks just sitting down and it's helped.
Gentleman Fiddlesticks anyone? I came up with that and I imagined him casually sitting in a sofa reading the newspaper where the Union Jack Fiddle destroyed a town.
Kellen, this is great - what a masterclass. This is Noshir (the voice of Yone) - congrats on Fiddlesticks, and I can't believe we both get the chance to be in LoL! Love what you do - I'm a big fan. =)
The moment you realise that Fiddle's voice is mainly done by an actual human being with little to no post-work is part amazing and terrifying :'D Kudos man, that's some serious skill and talent there!
I am a Metal Vocalist and I must say, some concepts you explained are very similar to the things I use. 10:52 was new for me though, didn't know you could go so low with inhales. Nice job dude!
I was thinking the same thing throughout the video lol. Though the idea that he can place his voice in the “upper right” so specifically is insane to me and so impressive. Voice actors are so cool
@@Ven-zg3fj Something that singers do is they have to essentially visualize their instruments when they sing and when you make a small change to the position or shape or the way you articulate or your breath it changes the sound. You have to develop a really good sense of what's happening and using these visualizations is part where it feels and part a technique that will allow you to trick your brain into recognition. For example, something we did in choir was when we were flat, (just below the note we were trying to hit) we would imagine the note is a cloud or a platform that we were trying to land on top of rather than touch the bottom of. Both of those achieved a close frequency that would technically be the same note but one would be more in tune. There are other visualization tricks like the idea of a unicorn horn coming out of your forehead to focus your resonance in your forehead. There's also stuff like people calling "ah" or the vowel "a" an open vowel because of how it feels and your mouth shape but in reality the vocal pathway is narrow compared to the "ee" or "e" vowel which is considered closed despite having a wider pathway in your throat. When you sing or vo for a really long time you get muscle memory and become more sensitive to the changes. I'm not sure if he says upper right because of feeling causing a visualization or if he's actively creating the asymmetry because voices are weird and our bodies easily trick us into feeling something that is the opposite of the function. It's like when you're sick and feel awful but its your body fighting back whatever it is, something technically a positive. Voices are weird and not instruments we can see easily when we use them.
Inward phonation is one of the easiest ways you can drop your voice even a full octave. It's a semi-difficult muscle coordination technique. But very simple in results for reaching low tones without using subharmonic singing, which is even more difficult to produce loud tones with.
Fiddlesticks, Sun and Moon, Funtime Freddy, Diavolo... You name it. The nerdiest and the cutest person voices the most horrifying fictional characters Sun is not horrifying though
I really appreciate that he knows some people are gonna try this so he warns them constantly to not do it too much, take breaks, and that it takes a long time to actually be able to do it safely
Holy crap thank you so much for sharing this, some of these techniques never in a million years could I have ever figured out on my own. This really makes me want to go exploring seeing all the different places one can take their voice.
As a "medium" skilled Beatboxer, I can pretty much say that most of the techniques you use came from the voice/body study (which is also used in beatbox). Your Inward techniques are just INSANE, and It's used for a variety of basses and special sounds. (Inward bass, inward clickrolls + bass). Also we can see that some of the voices came from the "polyphonic" technique, using your lungs/air/throat to create "multiple" voices at the same time. Man, you are just awesome! Keep this up, you did an amazing work with Fiddlesticks. This is the result of a real hard work, much love from Brazil. ♥️
5:10 I absolutely love that you took a physical necessity and managed to turn it into an extension of Fiddlesticks' creepy characterization. I had no idea going by the voice lines themselves.
When the Fiddlesticks rework came out, I didn't know what the fuck this voice was b/c it's so wild, so I tried imitating it for like around an hour and a half on and off as I was playing League, and for the next two days I could barely talk, it was almost as bad as the time I got strep throat. All the warnings you did in this video had me crackin' up remembering that, they aren't a joke at all.
"We’re still in the early stages of exploration there, but I did float the idea of having five separate voice actors all whispering at once, repeating odd, overlapping phrases as though Fiddle was trying to appear human at a distance, and a terrifying monster up close. Turns out that having a cacophony of random people saying things at you is extremely off putting in a gameplay environment (for the player as well as their opponents)."
Dude you are honestly my favorite voice actor and I’ve never really had one. I don’t even play League much, but you made Fiddlesticks terrifying. I became a real fan of you when you played Overhaul and recently Diavolo WHICH I LOVE! Every word from Diavolo gives me chills when you voice him. Also, Funtime Freddy? Man, FNAF was a good part of my life too. You are amazing
You're the voiceover of fiddlesticks? My god you're amazing. The best VO of league of legends for me and also you're the only one in every language (i've listened to them all) to actually proper give the right voice to fiddle. You're the reason i'm putting LoL in english
This is the first time actually hearing the regular voice behind Fiddlestick (which is insanely well done) as soon as the video started I immediately recognized Porco Galliard from AoT and Kai Chisaki from MHA, props my dude you are insanely talented.
This is insane! When most people think of voice actors they think of someone who just says some stuff and then riot makes the changes but these people are honestly so talented and put so much work into what they do, a round of applause for this guy and other voice actors, keep up the great work! :D
Your range is always something that amazes me, I mentioned this before but if the opportunity to play The Joker ever arises PLEASE DO IT WE ALL LOVE YOU!
Literally some of the best voice acting in LOL. Seriously, the Fiddle update is so good, and I'd argue it's mostly because of the voice you gave to the creature.
Oh, *you* do Fiddlestick's voice?! No wonder! I literally said to myself that the voice actor really commited to the voice, when I first heard it, and now it completely makes sense! It's none other than our boy Kellen! You did an amazing job, man!
I like the way he has all trained like, those are sounds that are incredible difficuot to make and even though he "tamed" those difficults he makes a 10min video without failing. God damn I'm your fan
My older brother told me about fiddlesticks now I know it's the same guy who voices funtime freddy and when I think of how different those w voices are I'm really amazed
I cant get over how skilled you are man. i learned that a bunch of fiddlestick sounds are not just effects, as i assumed, but your actual voice. thats insane
Hey Kellen I just wanted to say that you are awesome and you are literally in like every show and game I know. Thank you for being so cool and being you!
Since Fiddlesticks is confirmed the first Demon to exist, and his legend exist in every region in Runeterra. Riot can make a full movie or even a series about this.
I will tell you secret, Riot is not doing all the cinematics, they are paying big amount of money to other studios. There is like 0.001% chance they will do a movie. BTW Every game have a lore, some kind of story that can be filmed. LoL have good backround of it, but could you do a film of it? Story? Heroes? Yeah, you could put there champions, but what about non-gaming comunity? They wouldn't get money back if only gamers watched that.
Thank you so much for making this your insight here is inspiring and incredible. Fidds has the best lore in the game and you gave so much life and personality to such an incredible champion.
